Chapter 140 Catherine is a Genius!
Dominic stood there, beaming with pride as he looked at Catherine by his side.
He took a quick glance at the gallery behind him, which was buzzing with artistic vibes. The place was a perfect showcase of nature's beauty, all thanks to Catherine's brilliant design.
'No wonder she's my star pupil, outshining the master! How could anyone mess with the student we've worked so hard to train?' Dominic mused.
"Catherine, don't be too nice to them. It's just an art show; not everyone gets to be here." Dominic said, throwing a smug look at the stunned Michael.
Catherine nodded. "Got it."
Michael was completely floored! The Hughes family gallery had spent a ton trying to get Dominic, sending out countless invites, but never got a response.
Michael rushed forward. "Mr. Chambers, our Hughes family gallery really wants you as our lead artist. I've sent so many invitations, but you never replied! We're genuinely inviting you!"
'If Dominic agrees, the Hughes family gallery will finally make a name for itself in Imperia City and rise to the top!' Michael thought.
Dominic gave Michael a dismissive look. "Who are you again?"
Michael's face turned sour. In front of all the media, Dominic had just humiliated him. If the other Hughes family members found out, they'd definitely mock him! As an illegitimate child, Michael had to nail this to secure his spot in the family. "Mr. Chambers, I'm Michael from the Hughes family. Our gallery in Imperia City is about to open. Please join us."
Dominic looked at Michael like he was an idiot. "Catherine is my student. I only go to her gallery."
Michael's smile froze!
"Catherine, a gallery needs paintings, right? Bring the tools!" Dominic said, rolling up his sleeves as Catherine stepped forward.
'Dominic's gonna paint right here!' The Windsor family and the media were all in shock!
Aurora nudged Brandon, looking between Catherine and Dominic. "Brandon, is Catherine really Dominic's student? Did I see that right? Our daughter is actually a student of the oil painting master. How is she so amazing!"
Brandon, though unsure when Catherine met Dominic, still puffed out his chest. "Our daughter is just that amazing!"
He bent down to Marcus. "Dad, did you introduce Catherine to Dominic?"
Marcus looked puzzled. "I don't even know him. How could I introduce Catherine?"
'Maybe Alexander introduces Dominic to Catherine. With the Howard family's influence, knowing about the gallery's issues and inviting Dominic to support Catherine makes sense! Otherwise, when did Catherine meet Dominic?' Marcus thought.
Dominic hadn't painted in front of the media for years, let alone with his only student. The media were going wild! Who said Catherine's gallery was a joke? From the moment Dominic arrived, the Hughes family became a laughingstock!
Michael, watching Dominic get ready to paint, frowned and said, "Mr. Chambers, painting in front of all these media, isn't that disrespecting art?"
Dominic put down his brush and looked at Catherine. "Who is this guy? He's so annoying. Can I punch him?"
'You can hit him, but not in front of everyone,' Catherine thought, eyeing Michael who just wouldn't leave. She signaled for security. "Mr. Hughes, you've poached our employees, sabotaged our collaborations, and stolen our trade secrets. Do you want to discuss this here or at the police station? Oh, and by the way, I dealt with an embezzling employee yesterday—your aunt."
Michael stared at Catherine, admiring her beauty for a moment before gritting his teeth. "Ms. Windsor, I'll remember you. I hope you remember me too. We'll meet again."
"I'm not interested in remembering idiots," Catherine replied, her face showing zero interest in Michael.
Michael was about to argue when the Windsor family members stepped in.
Charles cracked his knuckles, the sound echoing. "Does the Hughes family want more business trouble?"
George smirked, "Michael, those old injuries must hurt on rainy days, huh?"
Richard called out to the media. "You know what to report, right? Michael, everything you've done should be seen by those who need to know!"
Those who needed to know meant the entire Hughes family.
Philip squinted. "The lawyer's letter will be sent soon. Now, get out."
It was a blatant threat.
Michael glanced at them and followed security out of the gallery.
'I don't get it. Everything was set up perfectly. According to the plan, I should cause some trouble at the gallery today and then offer some help appropriately. This way, Catherine would definitely remember me. How dare she ignore me! If the Hughes family finds out, it'll ruin the reputation I've worked so hard to build! That damn Esme said Catherine was just a bumpkin from the countryside. How does she know Dominic? Did the Windsor family set this up for her?' The more Michael thought about it, the more uneasy he felt. 'I have to get Blackfire to agree to cooperate. As long as Windsor family members are alive, they'll be a major obstacle for me!'
Inside the gallery, Dominic looked at the 10-foot-long canvas and rubbed his wrist. "Catherine, that side's yours, and this side's mine."
"Okay."
Aurora's eyes widened. "Is Catherine going to paint too? Quick, take a picture! Send it to Juniper and my mom!"
Richard had already set up ultra-high-definition cameras, all aimed at Catherine.
On stage, Catherine and Dominic each grabbed several brushes, splashing paint onto the canvas, and started creating together.
Everyone held their breath, afraid to disturb the magic happening before their eyes.
An hour later, Catherine and Dominic put down their brushes and rubbed their sore wrists.
In front of them was a 10-foot-long, 6-foot-wide oil painting. It depicted a romantic countryside scene with a small bridge over flowing water, flowers scattered in the stream, and the village's charm vividly brought to life. The color proportions were stunning, making it seem like the painting's soul was dancing! This wasn't just a painting; it was a masterpiece.
The artists Michael had brought to cause trouble were left speechless. The painting showed no signs of being done by two people; the seams were flawless.
Catherine's artistic talent was undeniably at a genius level.
Catherine put down her brush and looked at the crowd. "Today, there's only this painting on display. Are you all satisfied?"
