Chapter 252 Catherine Almost Had a Car Accident
Venus's voice had a hint of worry. "Miss, Sophia's not the type to act recklessly. With Richard around, she should be fine, but you know how weird that village is. If something really goes down..."
Venus and Sophia were twins, super close to each other.
That village was near the border, so who knew what kind of hidden dangers might be lurking.
"When did they lose contact? I'm heading over right now," Catherine said.
"Forty-eight hours ago. There were some issues at the site before they went dark. You'll get it when you see it!" Venus replied.
Members of the Galactic Aurora Collective had to send their coordinates every twenty-four hours.
Sophia being MIA for this long, especially with Richard, was definitely a big deal.
Catherine glanced at her phone. She didn't have many classes in the next few days, so even if the paperwork wasn't done, she'd just skip class!
Hanging up, Catherine made a beeline for the school gate. Just as she hit the tree-lined path, someone suddenly blocked her way!
Before she could see who it was, a car horn blared, and a small car lost control, heading straight for her!
The person blocking her saw a chance and nervously tried to rush forward, thinking if he could save Catherine now, she'd definitely remember him.
Even if Catherine stayed cold and indifferent, with more interactions, he didn't believe she'd keep ignoring him.
"Watch out!" Tiberius had just stood up from his wheelchair, trying to rush over, but got kicked in the chest!
Catherine kicked the out-of-control car's front, frowning slightly as she saw Tiberius recklessly rushing forward, thinking, 'What is this idiot thinking? Does he really believe that as a severely ill patient who can barely walk, he can save me now? Since Tiberius is Owen's grandson and my patient, it won't be appropriate if something happens to him in front of me.'
Catherine simply kicked Tiberius in the chest, pushing him away from the car, but he rolled several times on the ground!
Tiberius, already a severely ill patient, struggled to get up, and the kick made him vomit blood and pass out.
The out-of-control car crashed into a tree, its front severely deformed and smoking, while the driver's airbag deployed, leaving the unconscious driver clearly injured.
Catherine looked at the surrounding students. "Please call an ambulance."
"Okay! Don't you need to go to the hospital too?" The incident happened so suddenly that they were all stunned!
They initially thought this particularly beautiful girl would be hit by the car, but to their surprise, she deftly used the car's momentum to flip herself to safety!
Catherine shook her head. "I'm fine. Just get the injured to the hospital."
Not far away, Charles saw what happened and rushed over, sweating, grabbing Catherine's hand to check her over. "Catherine, are you okay?"
Charles had just entered the school gate and met Gabriella when he saw the terrifying scene, almost scared to death!
He couldn't wrap his head around how a car could just recklessly speed through campus. If something had happened to Catherine, he didn't even want to think about the consequences.
"I'm fine," Catherine said.
"No way, you still need to get checked out at the hospital. Let George give you a thorough exam, or I won't be able to relax!" Charles carefully looked her over, only easing up a bit when he saw she was okay.
"Charles, I'm really fine."
Charles's sharp gaze turned to the dean, who was hurrying over. "I think you owe us an explanation! How could this happen on campus? If Imperial University can't ensure student safety, I'll reconsider whether Catherine should keep studying here!"
Charles's Evergreen Group had donated a building and a ton of lab equipment to Imperial University before Catherine enrolled, and their education investment project was still ongoing.
Catherine attending school here wasn't just a matter between the school and a student; it also affected Imperial University's reputation in Imperia City!
If something happened to Catherine, a top-tier family like the Windsor Family would cause a lot of trouble for Imperial University.
Catherine looked at the dean, her expression calm, as if she hadn't just been nearly hit by a car. "It was definitely dangerous. I remember cars aren't allowed on the tree-lined path. I'm fine, but it would be bad if other students got hurt."
'This incident isn't a big deal for me, but what about the ordinary students? Facing a speeding, out-of-control car on campus, most students would be injured if not killed,' Catherine thought.
The dean was sweating bullets! "Yes, we'll thoroughly investigate this matter and give you an explanation!"
The dean himself was wondering how a car could lose control and drive onto the tree-lined path, almost hitting someone.
After the ambulance took the driver and the unconscious Tiberius away, Charles noticed someone else lying on the ground. "Isn't that Tiberius from the Harrison Family? What's he doing here?"
The dean's legs were shaking; he felt like his career might end today. "Tiberius is a new graduate student here."
Charles frowned. "At his age? I remember he was in the ICU recently. How is he out now?"
Catherine nodded. "He probably snuck out. I saw him in the ICU with Juniper a few days ago."
With the trees and the crowd of students, neither the dean nor Charles saw Catherine kick Tiberius away. They thought Tiberius was just unlucky and got hit by the car.
Hearing that Tiberius was in poor health and had snuck out of the ICU only to get into a car accident, the dean immediately jumped into the ambulance, feeling that if the school was in big trouble for this incident, he needed medical attention too.
Charles was still worried. "Catherine, you should get checked too. I'll contact George right away!"
Catherine shook her head. "I'll get checked myself. Charles, I need to leave for a couple of days. Can you help me get a leave of absence?"
"Where are you going?" Charles instinctively asked, looking down at Catherine's pure, bright eyes and innocent face. His heart softened, thinking Catherine must have been scared!
