Chapter 272 Are You Really Planning to Marry Alexander?

Alexander raised an eyebrow. "Grandma, if you didn't want Catherine to come, why suggest it in the first place? Isn't that a bit contradictory?"

If Arabella didn't want Catherine to come, she wouldn't have said she hoped Catherine would come, only to dismiss the idea herself right after.

Arabella shot a glare at Alexander. "If it weren't for your incompetence, would I still be without a granddaughter-in-law? Get out!"

Arabella was known for her bad temper, pride, and sharp tongue. Even the Howard Family's grandchildren weren't particularly close to her.

Knowing her temperament, Alexander didn't get angry. He left the room with Juniper and rubbed his temples. "Juniper, come if you want, but if you don't, that's fine too. Arabella has a bad temper and might make things difficult for you."

Evander nodded in agreement. "Yeah, Arabella's temper has gotten worse these past two years. Last time I visited her, she insisted on having fried chicken and Coke, and I couldn't stop her."

Juniper thought for a moment. "I'll come with Catherine tomorrow. If things don't go well, we'll leave together."

Facing Arabella alone made Juniper a bit nervous.

Thinking of Catherine's charming face, Alexander felt a warmth in his heart, and his expression softened.

Catherine received a message from Alexander on her phone.

Alexander: [My grandma is back. Would you be willing to help check on her health?]

Catherine: [Sure.]

Alexander stood by the window in his study, staring intently at the window across from him. The room was dimly lit, and Catherine was probably reading.

After dropping Juniper off, Evander stood behind Alexander and looked at him.

Following Alexander's gaze, he saw Catherine's window sill, but no one was visible. And Alexander was just staring longingly.

Evander casually asked, "Really smitten?"

"Yes," Alexander replied.

"I thought you would break off the engagement." Given Alexander's personality, he wouldn't easily accept a family-arranged marriage. Evander was ready to see Alexander go to the Windsor Family to break off the engagement!

Who knew that now Alexander cherished Catherine like a treasure, his eyes filled with tenderness. "Evander, I also thought we were just passing acquaintances, but later I realized I couldn't leave her."

From the day Catherine saved Alexander in Northern Myanterra, her image had been indelibly etched in his mind!

Evander sipped his wine. "Catherine doesn't seem easy to pursue."

Alexander's eyes were filled with determination and possessiveness as he looked at that window! "No matter. I'll make sure her heart and her life are filled only with me!"

The next morning, Catherine rubbed her sleepy eyes and opened the door, only to see Alexander standing there. She promptly shut the door, leaving Alexander outside.

'Why is he at my door so early in the morning? I thought it was Juniper, so I opened the door in my pajamas and bare feet!' Catherine thought.

After being shut out, Alexander rubbed his nose helplessly, but his mind was filled with the image of Catherine just now. 'Even freshly waking up, she is so adorable! Unfortunately, Catherine doesn't give me more chances to lie beside her. I am already looking forward to seeing her freshly woken face every day.'

When the door opened again, Catherine was fully dressed. She walked past Alexander without a glance and headed downstairs. She didn't spare him a single look, clearly a bit annoyed.

Alexander followed behind Catherine, a warm smile on his face, thinking that watching someone wake up grumpy was surprisingly entertaining. Maybe it was because it was her doing it that made him so happy!

Catherine ignored whatever Alexander was saying on the way downstairs.

"I'm going to call my grandpa. You go have breakfast."

"Okay," she said.

Sitting at the dining table, Juniper handed Catherine a glass of warm water. "Catherine, didn't Alexander go to call you? Where is he?"

"He went to call Felix. Don't let him come up next time," Catherine said.

Juniper teased, "Did you two have a fight?"

"No, I just have morning grumpiness, and he talks too much." Catherine didn't like talking much in the morning, but Alexander kept asking if she slept well and if she dreamed of him.

Catherine didn't know if she didn't want to answer or if her morning grumpiness made her not want to talk to him. But thinking about seeing Alexander's face when she opened the door, Catherine realized she didn't really mind.

Juniper covered her mouth, laughing. "Alright, next time I won't let him bother you!"

As Catherine skillfully took out her phone and removed Alexander from the blacklist, Juniper's smile grew even brighter. She realized it seemed Alexander had been blacklisted by Catherine quite a bit! "Good job! That's my sister!"

Catherine explained, "He kept messaging me while I was working, disrupting my tasks."

After finishing her work, Catherine forgot to remove Alexander from the blacklist.

Juniper was laughing so hard! 'Who can think that the usually cold and arrogant Alexander, the decisive and ruthless head of the Howard Group, will be so talkative and annoying to Catherine!' Just imagining the scene made Juniper laugh uncontrollably. "But this does show that Alexander really likes you!"

Catherine lowered her head to eat, a slight smile tugging at her lips, feeling a sweetness that she didn't even realize.

After breakfast, Catherine and Juniper went to the Howard Mansion.

Arabella had already eaten and was sitting in the garden, reading and playing the piano. When she saw them, Arabella just nodded slightly. "Do your own thing. Don't bother me."

Catherine knew Arabella had a bad temper and didn't mind.

After finishing her book, Arabella played a piece on the piano and practiced her singing, performing a soprano piece.

Listening to the song, Catherine remembered that Arabella was the famous singer from the last century. In those years, Arabella's reputation was so widespread that she had fans throughout the entire country!

When Catherine was little and living in a small village with Elodie, Elodie had mentioned that her favorite singer was Arabella. Who knew she was Alexander's grandmother?

However, after so many years, Arabella's looks had changed drastically from her younger days, and Catherine didn't recognize her immediately.

Juniper was stunned, clapping until her hands were red. "Grandma! You're amazing! How did you end up with Felix? It doesn't make sense!"

Arabella rarely smiled. "Why else? He had money, and I needed it. So, we got married! Hey, you! Come over and let me take a look!"

Catherine understood and walked over to Arabella, letting her scrutinize with those slightly upturned eyes.

Arabella raised an eyebrow and got straight to the point. "Are you really planning to marry Alexander?"
