Chapter 69 Kicking Catherine Out of the Windsor Family
Oliver got tossed out of the hospital like a sack of potatoes.
Andrew didn't even hesitate after hearing Oliver's nonsense. He just chucked him right onto the pavement.
Oliver winced in pain!
'What's up with the Windsor family? Why do they always gotta throw people out? Last time I brought a gift, they booted me out, and now I was just chatting with a caregiver by Marcus's side and got the boot again! Catherine's so ungrateful. If we hadn't kicked her out, she wouldn't have met the Windsors. Now she's all cozy with them and doesn't give a damn about the Smiths.'
Oliver stormed back into Celeste's hospital room, fuming.
"If you hadn't decided to cut ties with Catherine, she'd still be our daughter, and I wouldn't be so humiliated."
Celeste snapped back, "She's just a caregiver, and you want her to be our daughter? If you're not embarrassed, I am! Catherine's an ungrateful brat. We can't count on her. If you wanna go find her, think of another way."
Oliver, confused, asked, "What choice do we have?"
Celeste leaned back on the pillow, smirking. "I heard from the nurses that Lila's also in this hospital. Whether it's Marcus or Lila, they're both Windsors. If one path doesn't work, we'll try another."
Oliver's eyes lit up!
'Lila's great, definitely easier to talk to than Marcus. She can put in a good word for us, and the Smiths can rise again.'
"Good thing we still have the gifts. Let's take them to Lila now!" Oliver said.
The Smith family, all hyped up, grabbed their bags and headed to Lila's hospital room.
Lila lay on the bed, looking all peaceful and serene. The sunlight from the window made her white hair glow, making her look like a sweet old lady to those who didn't know her.
"Mrs. Windsor, we're from the Smith family in Serenitia City. We heard you're not well, so we brought you some gifts!" Oliver said.
Lila opened her eyes, seeing three strangers by her bed.
'Gifts? Since Marcus cut me off from the aristocracy, no one's brought me gifts in years! What do these people want?' Lila thought.
Lila looked at the three of them and snorted, "Take your stuff and leave. I don't want it."
"Mrs. Windsor, we just came from Marcus. He specifically asked us to bring these to you, saying he's worried about your health!" Oliver said.
As soon as she heard Marcus's name, Lila's eyes widened!
'I knew Marcus still cared. After all these years, he wouldn't be so heartless.'
"Fine, leave them here, and you can go," Lila said.
Oliver, grinning like a fool, rubbed his hands together and said,
"Mrs. Windsor, we're Catherine's foster parents. We wanted to ask if Catherine's behaving well?"
'Catherine's foster parents?'
Hearing this, Lila's eyes filled with even more disdain.
'No wonder they smell funky. Catherine and them are all cut from the same cloth, vulgar and crude,' Lila thought.
"Behaving well? Why do I care if she behaves well or not? As long as I'm alive, she'll never be part of the Windsor family!" she said.
The Smith family perked up at this!
'Lila's words mean Catherine can never marry Charles. No matter how hard she tries, they don't care about her at all!'
Clara felt relieved and said, "Catherine's my sister. We grew up together, and she always liked to play with boys. She was originally engaged to my fiancé, but she didn't stay chaste."
Lila wrinkled her nose like she smelled something nasty and asked, "I knew Catherine was trouble! What do you want?"
"We just don't want you getting played by Catherine. She's never been a good kid! My mom literally died from the stress she caused! If you need dirt on Catherine, we got you," Oliver chimed in.
Lila's eyes flickered with interest.
'Even though I don't think much of these three, if they have some juicy gossip, I'm all ears.'
"Mrs. Windsor, you gotta kick Catherine out of the Windsor family! We cut ties with her 'cause she was a liar from the start," Oliver said, recounting the story of his lost contract.
"Liar?" Lila asked.
"The Windsor family is loaded. If Catherine pulls something shady, the losses could be massive!" Oliver added.
Hearing this, Lila pulled out her phone and dialed Brandon's number.
But Brandon was busy comforting Aurora and didn't pick up after ten tries!
"Mr. Windsor must be swamped. Why don't you give me his number, and I'll contact him," Oliver suggested eagerly.
"Alright, but you better tell him everything Catherine's done, so he won't be fooled."
"Of course!" Oliver left his number, walking out of the hospital room with a spring in his step, Brandon's number saved on his phone. He said, "Judging by Lila's reaction, Catherine probably hasn't done anything good in the Windsor family. It's a good thing we cut ties with her, or she might've dragged us down."
Celeste nodded in agreement.
"Hurry back and contact Brandon. With the Windsor family's help, we can definitely get through this rough patch," Oliver said happily.

The Martinez Mansion
The courtyard was filled with rare flowers and plants, and the scenery of small bridges and flowing water was particularly elegant and charming.
Aurora lounged on a chair, letting Brandon massage her legs.
"Aurora, don't be mad. Look how scared Catherine was today," Brandon said.
"Do you think I want to be mad? It's Lila who's pushing my buttons!" Aurora snapped.
Brandon smiled awkwardly, "Lila's old and not too sharp. Next time she calls, just ignore her."
Aurora shot him a flirtatious glance and said, "You think I want to deal with her? I'm just trying to keep her from bothering Catherine. I'm telling you, if she bullies Catherine, I won't stand for it!"
Brandon quickly nodded. "Don't worry! Catherine is our precious darling. No one can mess with her."
Just as he finished speaking, his phone rang.
"Who is it?" Brandon asked.
"Mr. Windsor! This is Oliver from Serenitia City. I need to tell you something about Catherine, the caregiver from your family! That Catherine is sneaky, mean, and ungrateful. She's always been cruel to my daughter, not fit to stay by Marcus's side..."
Brandon was initially puzzled but grew angrier as he listened, almost wanting to reach through the phone and strangle Oliver!
In his younger days, Brandon was a powerful and influential figure. Even though the Windsor family's children had taken over the family business, Brandon had happily retired and was now considered the most easygoing person in the family.
Brandon's face turned cold, and his entire demeanor became chilling, even Aurora noticing something was wrong and asking, "What happened? Who's on the phone?"
Oliver continued to ramble.
"Is Mrs. Windsor there too? I swear on my name, if Catherine stays in the Windsor family, she'll definitely cause trouble. Otherwise, we wouldn't have kicked her out of our home!"
