Chapter 166 Let Michael Eat Dog Shit
A well-defined hand rested on Catherine's slender waist, looking like it could completely cover it, stirring up a storm of restlessness in Alexander's heart.
Following her gaze, Alexander looked over and gently squeezed her hand, saying softly, "That's Owen's daughter, Paloma Harrison. She's not in great health, so she rarely comes out. It's normal you haven't met her."
"Is she married?" Catherine asked.
It was the first time Alexander saw Catherine showing interest in gossip, and he smiled indulgently. "No, Paloma got really sick early on and has been recovering ever since. Haven't heard anything about her getting married."
'Not married, so maybe my weird suspicion is off,' Catherine thought, pulling her gaze away. As she turned around, Alexander immediately pulled her into his arms. Her graceful body, wrapped in a form-fitting dress, pressed tightly against him, making Catherine let out a muffled groan. Her hands pressed against his firm abs, each muscle so distinct that her palms felt hot.
Her face flushed, and she said with slight annoyance, "Alexander! What are you doing?"
Alexander held her waist firmly, keeping her from moving.
To others, it looked like Catherine and Alexander were just having an intimate conversation while hugging, which was normal for an engaged couple, so no one found it odd.
Alexander whispered, "Nothing, just letting them know you're mine!"
Catherine might not realize how stunning she was. From the moment she walked in, countless eyes were on her, making Alexander very unhappy! He lifted her delicate chin, looking down at her charming face, her eyes shimmering, drawing him in deeply. "Catherine, I don't mind spending more time making you accept me. But in the meantime, I can't let anyone else think they have a chance with you! Unless you tell me you don't like me, then maybe I'll reconsider how to pursue you."
His handsome face was so close to hers that she could clearly see his long eyelashes and the jealousy in his eyes.
'Is he jealous?' she wondered.
Alexander moved even closer, their noses touching, their breaths mingling. "So tell me, do you like me?"
Catherine was at a loss for words, not understanding why Alexander would ask such a question at this moment.
'Do I like Alexander? Honestly, I'm not sure myself!' Catherine thought for a moment, meeting Alexander's expectant gaze, and honestly replied, "I don't know."
'Not knowing means that Catherine at least has a place for me in her heart, even if she doesn't realize it yet. One day, she will be moved by me!' Alexander thought as his heart surged with infinite joy, his deep voice echoing in Catherine's ear. "One last question, can I kiss you?"
Before Catherine could react, a quick, light kiss brushed her lips, leaving her with Alexander's scent.
Catherine looked up, meeting Alexander's tender and affectionate gaze. "So what are you doing? Asserting your dominance?"
"No, I'm marking my territory! Letting them know I'm yours, because even if you don't mind, I don't want you to misunderstand me after seeing any bad news." Alexander said, thinking, 'After all, it's already hard enough to get Catherine to look at me twice. If those random people show up in front of her, all my efforts will be in vain!'
Their intimate display was enough to make many people back off, especially those eyeing Catherine covetously! But there's always someone who didn't get the hint.
Michael approached with a glass of red wine. "Ms. Windsor's and Mr. Howard's relationship is truly enviable. We're all green with envy."
Alexander looked at Michael, his expression cold and unfeeling. "Seems the Hughes Family didn't teach you well."
Catherine added indifferently, "Yeah, someone from the Hughes Family even hit my employee yesterday. Looks like your family culture is pretty shameless."
Michael's smile froze on his face!
'I came over to make nice, hoping Catherine would introduce me to Dominic later. After all, the previous unpleasantness at the gallery with Dominic was because of Catherine. Seeing how much Dominic values her, if I can please her, I can surely ease the tension between Dominic and the Hughes Family!' Thinking of this, Michael gritted his teeth and forced a smile. "Ms. Windsor, I apologize for offending you before. I'm here to make amends, as per my grandfather's wishes. I'll do whatever you say to apologize."
Michael's eyes were filled with determination, and his gaze at Catherine carried a hint of greed. She was truly beautiful, with a graceful and slender figure, yet exuding a cool and fierce aura that made him itch.
Before Michael could finish his sentence, he was kicked in the knee, falling to his knees in front of Catherine with a thud!
Another kick landed on Michael's back, causing him excruciating pain and a pitiful scream! He even clearly heard the sound of his bones breaking.
Alexander's movements were too fast; Michael didn't even have a chance to dodge and was already on the ground!
"Next time you look at her like that, you'll lose your eyes," Alexander warned.
Michael wanted to cry!
Facing Alexander's murderous gaze, he quickly nodded, unable to utter a word through his sobs.
Catherine's gaze was icy, her high heel tapping Michael's face. "Michael, there's no need to be so polite. Even if you beg for my forgiveness, I won't grant it. Besides, as an illegitimate child of the Hughes Family, if you act so shamelessly, what will happen to the family's reputation?"
The surrounding people were stunned by the commotion! They didn't expect Alexander to like Catherine so much that he would personally take action just because Michael disrespected her. Michael truly was an illegitimate child who couldn't be taken seriously, doing such disgraceful things!
Hearing the murmurs around him, Michael grew anxious, thinking, 'The good reputation I have recently built is about to be ruined. No, I can't let that happen. I still want to be the heir of the Hughes Family; everything must belong to me!'
Enduring the intense pain, Michael spoke, "Ms. Windsor, I was wrong! Please forgive me. Just tell me what you need."
Catherine curled her lips, linking her arm with Alexander's, her gaze cold. "Really? I'm not one to make things difficult for others. If you want my forgiveness, it's not impossible. There's dog poop in the yard; go eat it!"
