Chapter 192 The Hughes Family Sows Discord Between Catherine and Juniper
Juniper was still gnawing on the bread Aurora had baked herself.
Seeing this message from an unknown sender, Juniper almost chipped a tooth on the bread that was as hard as a rock.
As soon as Catherine walked in, she saw Juniper typing furiously on the computer, with a pile of black, charcoal-like objects next to her, asking, "Juniper, are you researching the components of charcoal lately?"
"Catherine, I really do want to study what makes this so hard! But this is bread Mom made."
Catherine, well aware of Aurora's baking skills, gave a fair assessment. "It's better than last time, worth praising."
But it wasn't much better. Still, Brandon would always insist on finishing whatever Aurora made.
Juniper waved Catherine over. "Look, I received a few anonymous texts. I applied for internal access to trace the IP and identify the sender. It turns out it was Maurice from the Hughes Family. I don't even know him!"
Juniper's phone number was directly monitored by higher-ups, and all received messages were backed up to her superiors.
Since the messages mentioned something related to Phoenix Lab, she decided to investigate thoroughly. Juniper was someone who only believed in data. Compared to the mastermind Maurice mentioned, she was more interested in why Maurice was contacting her.
After hearing Catherine casually explain what happened in the Hughes Family, Juniper frowned. "So, Maurice found that he couldn't get close to you, so he decided to come to me? This so stupid idea is really like something Esme's family would come up with."
Maurice probably believed that Juniper would definitely contact him after seeing those messages, as the subsequent messages were invitations for dinner.
Juniper sneered and immediately reported him, saying, "My number is protected. Since Maurice knows so much about Phoenix Lab, who knows what role he's playing in it. Let him explain it to the National Security Agency."
Juniper quickly reported Maurice for espionage.
Catherine could already imagine the look on Maurice's face when he received a call from the National Security Agency!
After sending the report, Juniper was in a great mood. "Catherine, let's go shopping! I'll pay for whatever you like!"
Juniper lowered her voice. "You have no idea. I've received a ton of money recently, from the Howard Family, from Mom and Dad, from our brothers. I'm super rich now!"

Juniper felt like crying whenever she thought about the things Elodie mentioned in the video that Catherine had gone through.
Juniper didn't think any of it was something Catherine should have experienced, so she still felt like she had taken away the comfortable life Catherine should have had.
Catherine felt a warmth in her heart, knowing this was something Juniper had always wanted to say. Having such a sister was a blessing.
With a gentle smile, Catherine patted Juniper's hand reassuringly. "It wasn't your choice. You didn't do anything wrong. You don't need to apologize to me."
Juniper nuzzled her head against Catherine's neck, pressing her face against Catherine's. "Catherine, I received the paternity test results."
The data on the results matched exactly what Juniper had suspected, but seeing those numbers made her feel a bit scared. "My mom doesn't recognize me and remember me. That's actually pretty good, right? At least she won't be sad because of me."
Juniper initially tried to smile, but as she spoke, she started to cry. "Catherine, I went to see her, but she doesn't remember me at all."
'My father denies me to my face, and my mother forgets my existence. I am the child abandoned by them,' Juniper thought as she clung to Catherine, her shoulders shaking, her crying silent.
Catherine didn't move, quietly listening to Juniper.
"I already have the best mom in the world. Wanting more is greedy, isn't it?"
Catherine shook her head. "That's your biological mother. She just forgot the past for some reason. One day, she'll remember."
But Catherine couldn't know when that day would come.
Paloma and Elodie forgot everything likely due to external forces, but whether it was the same force was unknown. Catherine didn't know how Elodie remembered either.
Since the events of that year involved parts of the Galactic Aurora Collective that Catherine was unaware of, investigating wouldn't be easy.
After hugging Catherine, Juniper calmed down as she thought Catherine was the best, comforting her at times like this!
At that moment, Juniper's phone rang. She answered it on speaker.
"Ms. Windsor, I don't mean to offend you. I just want to tell you something about Phoenix Lab. Why are you so unapproachable?"
Juniper looked at Catherine, confirming it was Maurice's voice. "Then tell me, how do you know things that even the National Security Agency hasn't disclosed?"
"The Hughes Family has some ways you don't know about. If you're interested, I'd like to invite you to dinner. I'll tell you everything you want to know," Maurice said.
"Not interested. I'm afraid I won't be able to eat if I see you! Since you insist on calling, just tell me, who is the mastermind behind Phoenix Lab?" Juniper said.
After receiving a call from the National Security Agency, Maurice knew Juniper wasn't an easy woman to approach. On the contrary, Maurice became intensely interested in her. If she were a fool, he thought she wouldn't be worthy of him! "Ms. Windsor, what I'm about to say might shock you. Are you sure you want to hear such important information over the phone?"
"Say it or I'll hang up."
Maurice was choked by Juniper's cold attitude, and his supposedly elegant smile faltered as he wondered whether all the Windsor Family daughters were unapproachable.
Maurice was practically gnashing his teeth, thinking, 'Damn woman, just an adopted daughter of the Windsor Family with no status, does she really think she's a high and mighty heiress? If she ever falls into my hands, I'll deal with her!'

Juniper sneered, "Then tell me who wants to harm me. Since you know so much, you should know exactly which Windsor Family member is targeting me, right?"
Maurice smiled confidently. "Ms. Windsor, you're so outstanding that you're blocking someone's path. The one who wants to harm you is the recently returned Catherine from the Windsor Family! Ms. Windsor, you've always trusted the wrong person!"
