Chapter 111 In Prison

Ethan glanced up and saw a heavy sniper rifle aimed right at his head.

People outside heard the ruckus and rushed into the hospital room, their guns pointed at Mars and Venus.

"What do you mean?" Ethan asked.

"Ethan, not every job is worth it. Some money might seem easy, but it could cost you your life!" Venus said.

Ethan frowned. He had just taken a few jobs recently.

Abyssal Blades wasn't well-established in Stellara and needed some funds, so he had picked up a few local gigs.

"Are there people you need to protect in those jobs?" Ethan asked.

Mars snarled, "If anything happens to Catherine Windsor, your whole organization will pay!"

Ethan quickly realized they were talking about Catherine Windsor from the Windsor family.

"Since when does the Windsor family need your organization for protection?" Ethan asked.

Venus extended two fingers and moved the gun away from Mars's hand. "Guess what, if the Windsor family finds out you're here, can you guarantee your brother's safety? You might be fine, but your brother's condition can't afford to be moved."

Ethan suddenly tensed up and thought, 'If the Windsor family finds out I'm here, they won't let me go! I took a job to kill Marcus, and not only did none of the assassins I sent out return, but I've also been warned several times by the Windsor family! Charles has even threatened my life!'

"Don't worry, even though I took the job, I won't kill Catherine Windsor! Since I took the job, no other organization dares to touch her," Ethan said, sweating bullets.

Mars put away his sniper rifle, snorted, and walked out of the hospital room.

Venus had a kind smile on her face, but there was no warmth in her eyes as she said, "Ethan, do you think the Windsor family will get the news?"

Ethan's pupils dilated instantly!

Meanwhile, looking at the job on the dark web, Charles stood up abruptly and spilled his coffee on the table!

Richard was surprised by his frantic actions and asked, "What's wrong, Charles?"

Charles gritted his teeth and slammed his fist on the table! "Damn Ethan! Does he really think the Windsor family can't deal with him? He actually dared to take a job to kill Catherine! He's asking for trouble!"

Richard immediately got up from the sofa, walked over to the computer, and looked at the dense information on the screen. His eyes deepened, revealing a sharp edge, and he asked, "Who posted the job?"

Charles pulled up all the data in his hand and said, "The data has been erased, but I'll have someone restore it immediately!"

"Charles, should we send someone to warn Ethan? He even dared to take a job against our family; he's getting really bold."

Charles sneered, exuding a kingly presence. "We haven't even settled the score with him for the Grandpa's incident. He wants to play tough? Fine, let's teach him a lesson about who runs Imperia City!"

"I'll call Catherine and tell her to be careful," Richard said and quickly made the call.

"Richard, what's up?"

"Catherine, what have you been up to lately?" Richard always spoke to Catherine with a smile, and from his voice alone, no one would know he made his name with his sharp tongue. He was known for his biting remarks in the entertainment industry, sparing no one. Only when facing his family did he show his tenderness. Catherine glanced at Alexander, who was busy with company finances across from her, and replied, "I've been with Alexander visiting a friend. Once he recovers a bit, we'll head home. What's up?"

Hearing that Catherine was with Alexander, Richard breathed a sigh of relief and thought, 'Even though Alexander can be annoying and got ulterior motives, Catherine will be safe with him now!'

"Have fun and don't rush back. Be careful out there, and if you need money, just ask me," Richard said.

"Okay," Catherine nodded, understanding that the Windsor family had likely seen the info on the dark web and called to remind her to be cautious.

Richard hesitated for a moment before speaking more seriously, "Catherine, no matter what happens, if I have to choose between you and someone else, I'll always choose you."

He had heard some things from Charles about Esme and knew that if it was confirmed that Esme had actual dealings with those trading Vitality Pills, Esme wouldn't be able to stay in the Windsor family.

Catherine was a bit stunned and thought, 'I erased the IP info on the dark web to avoid causing trouble for the Windsor family. Has Richard found out?'

"I know you don't have much faith in family, given how awful your previous ones were, but the Windsor family is different. Trust me."

Catherine realized Richard was addressing the rumors Esme had spread.

She didn't care about that at all. To her, Esme's antics were just petty tricks, no better than Clara's. To avoid causing trouble for the Windsor family, Catherine always ignored Esme whenever she tried to stir things up.

"I understand," Catherine said.

"Catherine, you're the most important in the Windsor family! Even if one of our brothers tries to bully you, I won't let them off!" Richard said.

Catherine felt warmth in her heart and family's love and protection.

After hanging up, Catherine unconsciously breathed a sigh of relief.

A message silently arrived on Alexander's phone.

Alexander glanced at it and smiled faintly, saying, "Your brothers messaged me to make sure I protect you well."

"Got it."

"Although I'm glad they trust me, protecting you is my duty."

Catherine gave him a cool look and thought, 'He's really different from before! I never knew he liked to take credit so much!'

Alexander felt pleased. This was the first time he felt the Windsor family trusted him beyond just being cautious and wary.

He quickly replied to the message, assuring the Windsor family.

Mars stood at the door and symbolically knocked on the office door, reporting, "Miss, Ethan's brother is awake. He wants you to come and take a look."

Catherine had anticipated when Matthew would wake up, but to keep Ethan from knowing too much about her medical skills, she had given a vague timeline.

Once Ethan was convinced of Moon's unparalleled medical skills, he would definitely try to poach her from the Faceless Ones, which would be a hassle.

Walking into the hospital room, Ethan was excitedly hovering around Matthew.

Catherine found it a bit unsightly and quietly looked away. "He's fine now. I've prepared the medicine he needs to take recently. Now can you tell me where the person I want is?"

The smile on Ethan's face faded, and he hesitated before speaking. "In prison!"
