Chapter 74 Blocked
Seeing Samuel and Grace being all stubborn, Aurora just threw her hands up and didn't push it.
The Bentley rolled up to the door, looking all sleek and fancy, cutting through the flower path and making the air smell like a garden.
Two tall, handsome dudes hopped out first. Just as Richard reached out his hand, he saw Alexander already bent over, offering his hand to Catherine.
"Catherine, what about me!"
Richard was almost in tears thinking, 'At home, Charles always gets in front, so I can never hold Catherine's hand. Now there's Alexander too!'
Catherine got out of the car, holding onto both of them, and walked over to Samuel and Grace, saying, "Grandpa, Grandma, I'm back."
"Good. From now on, this is your home too!" Samuel and Grace said.
Samuel had met Catherine before, so he was pretty chill and just patted her hand.
Grace was meeting Catherine for the first time. She had mixed feelings about Catherine because she was worried about Juniper. But when she saw that face, so much like Aurora's, tears started falling from her eyes.
"Good girl, you're finally back. I didn't come to your birthday last time; don't be mad at me," Grace said.
Aurora asked, startled, "Mom, what's wrong? Why are you crying? Don't scare Catherine. Let's go inside."
Catherine squatted in front of Grace, looking up at her white hair.
Grace, a scientist who made huge contributions to Stellara and a true hero, didn't even cry like this when she got the National Honor Medal.
"Grandma, I'm not mad," Catherine said.
Richard came over. "Grandma, I'm still here. Don't be biased! Don't just care about Catherine and forget about me. You said you loved me the most!"
Grace looked at Richard and burst into laughter. "You little rascal, who could forget you? Let's go inside. Catherine, come on in. And Alexander is here too. Great, I love a lively house."
Alexander politely handed over a gift and said, "These are from Catherine and me for you."
Aurora looked at the sweet scene of Alexander and Catherine standing together, and her heart was filled with pink love bubbles!
Catherine and Alexander looked so perfect together!
She had been worried that someone with Alexander's background wouldn't be into Catherine. But Alexander didn't mind at all and took great care of Catherine, being attentive in every way!
Grace and Samuel only had one daughter, Aurora, and always treated Aurora's kids like their own treasures.
Today, they finally got a rare chance to gather for a meal.
Grace looked at Aurora and put down her utensils, saying, "Aurora, you mentioned before that you wanted to divorce Brandon? What's going on? I didn't have a chance to ask you last night. What happened?"
Brandon almost cried hearing this!
He had finally managed to calm things down, and Aurora had agreed not to bring it up again. Now that Grace mentioned it, Aurora would definitely get emotional again!
Aurora put down her utensils and looked intently at Samuel and Grace.
"Yes, and I must divorce! Samuel, Grace, I've made up my mind. I didn't divorce before because I loved Brandon and Catherine hadn't come back. I felt guilty towards her and thought that if Catherine came home and found out Brandon and I were divorced, how devastating it would be for her."
She looked lovingly at Catherine sitting beside her, making up her mind.
"But I can't stand that Lila bullying Catherine over and over again! Why should Catherine be at her beck and call? Samuel, Grace, do you know she even badmouthed Catherine in front of me? I wanted to slap her!"
Aurora had always been well-mannered, a lady from a prestigious family, and had never raised her voice, always speaking softly.
But when she mentioned Lila, her eyes turned red with anger. Thinking about Lila badmouthing Catherine in front of her made her want to cry.
Samuel looked at Brandon and said, "Brandon, we really can't step in on this one. Lila's totally crossed the line. We've put up with her for years for you and the kids, but our patience hasn't made her any nicer!"
Brandon, super anxious, replied, "Yeah, I've already talked to Marcus. He will get a divorce tomorrow and make sure Aurora and Catherine never have to deal with Lila again. I swear, this will never happen again!"
Aurora snorted, "Your promise? How can you guarantee that? Do you know the person who called you last night got your number from Lila!"
Brandon's eyes suddenly turned sharp.
What the Smith family did to Catherine was unforgivable to the Windsor family.
If Lila indirectly helped the Smith family hurt Catherine, he might not be able to forgive her either!
"Aurora, I will definitely get to the bottom of this. Don't worry, no matter what Lila says in the future, I won't let her bother you and Catherine!"
Brandon was almost ready to swear to Aurora in front of Samuel.
In middle age, although he was still the elegant and handsome head of the Windsor family, Brandon had no pride left in front of Aurora. "Aurora, I can't live without you. If necessary, we can stay here and not go back home!"
Aurora softened at the sight of his tearful face and held Catherine's hand, looking guilty.
"Catherine, if that Lila ever bothers you again, just block her," Aurora said.
"I understand."
Aurora looked at Alexander behind Catherine and said, "Mr. Howard, Catherine is still young and, like me, easily soft-hearted. Please take good care of her."
Alexander nodded firmly, holding Catherine's waist in an affectionate yet appropriate manner and saying, "Don't worry, Catherine is my fiancée. I will protect her."
Grace, seeing how well they got along, secretly nudged Samuel with a smile.
Last night, Samuel had been saying that Alexander wasn't good enough and wanted to find a chance to call off the engagement. Now, seeing how Alexander looked at Catherine like she was a treasure, she thought their relationship seemed great!
"Aurora, why does Lila keep bothering you?"
"Because she hopes her niece can marry Brandon. She wants her own relative to be Brandon's wife."
Talking about those things, Aurora rolled her eyes and extended her hand to show Samuel and Grace the burn marks caused by Lila's unreasonable behavior.
As she extended her hand, she realized the swelling had gone down and said in shock, "Catherine, the medicine you gave me last time is amazing. I thought it would take more than ten days to heal! Give me some more so I can use it if I get hurt again!"
"Sure, I'll get you some when I get home," Catherine said.
The ointment Aurora used was made by Catherine herself, with the best effects. On the black market, medicines from Phantom Doctor Moon were extremely expensive.
But in front of the Windsor family, her medicine could be of greater value.
She wanted to protect her family, hoping they could be happy and safe!
Alexander, standing nearby, didn't feel like an outsider at all, smiling as he watched Catherine.
