Chapter 225 Catherine Was Truly Versatile

Catherine glanced at the person sprawled on her bed and let out a sigh. "What are you doing here?"

Emilia clutched the plush toys on Catherine's bed, squishing their faces until they were all misshapen. "I missed you! Since you weren't back yet, I figured I'd wait for you in your room!"

"If you've got something to say, just spill it," Catherine said.

Emilia's actions had already given her away; it was clear she had something on her mind to be waiting in Catherine's room.

"I knew I couldn't hide anything from you!" Emilia handed her phone to Catherine. "A few days ago, someone messaged me saying they had a bunch of my mom's stuff, but it feels sketchy."

Growing up in the Hughes Family, Emilia had learned to read people well. Just one look from Anthony, and she knew what to do and say. So when she got those messages, her gut told her something was off.

After mulling it over, the only person Emilia could think to turn to was Catherine. So she came to the Windsor Mansion to find her! Catherine was so capable; she'd definitely know what to do!

"Did you check out this person?" Catherine asked.

Emilia would definitely have looked into the situation within Blade of Dusk after getting those messages.

When Emilia's mom passed away, Emilia was just a baby. The folks from Blade of Dusk who were around her mom should know best who had her mom's belongings.

"Yeah, I did. It was someone who used to be with Blade of Dusk but left the gang when he got older." Emilia rested her chin on a plush toy, her brows slightly furrowed.

Catherine nodded, confirming Emilia's suspicions.

"That's not normal. The people around your mom should've given you the items directly since you took over Blade of Dusk. No need for a meeting." Catherine shook her phone. "Can I use this?"

Emilia was generous. "Sure, go ahead!"

Emilia thought Catherine was going to do something with her phone, but then she saw Catherine bend down and pull out a tiny computer from under the bed!

It was only the size of a palm!

Catherine casually took off the headband from her head and only realized something was off when she held it in her hand.

"This headband is really pretty. Did you just buy it?" Emilia asked.

"Probably." Catherine suddenly remembered that when she was bandaging Alexander's wound last night, she noticed many scratches on his palm.

It was normal for an assassin to get various injuries during missions, so she didn't think much of it.

Seeing the headband in her hand, Catherine realized that Alexander had deliberately messed up her hair last night.

For some reason, getting the headband from George made Catherine happy, but seeing this headband in her hand made her heart race a bit.

Catherine turned on the computer, connecting it to Emilia's phone. Her fingers flew across the keyboard, her gaze calm and focused.

Emilia looked at the string of data on Catherine's computer, feeling her head spin as she thought, 'What is all this? I can't understand any of it! Is Catherine really that amazing? How does she know everything?'

The data on the screen quickly locked onto a hidden IP address. Catherine stared at the address, her brows slightly furrowed. "Do you know this place?"

Emilia leaned in for a closer look. "Isn't this near the Hughes Manor?"

Recognizing the address, Emilia immediately knew it was close to the old Hughes Family residence.

She thought for a moment. "I remember there's a jade factory and a bunch of antique shops around there. It's probably one of those antique shops."

"Let's check it out tomorrow," Catherine said.

"Why tomorrow? Will we get caught if we go now?" Emilia asked.

Catherine gave her a look, put away the computer and phone, and lay down. "Because I need to sleep now."

Last night, Annie had called her to the Howard Mansion, and she hadn't had a chance to rest during the day. What Catherine needed most now was sleep!

Next door, at the Howard Mansion.

Alexander watched as the lights in Catherine's room went out, and the large villa fell into silence.

He knew Catherine must be resting, so he turned and walked to the study.

The old butler stood beside Alexander. "Sir, several of our acquisition cases have suddenly encountered problems and need your attention. Mr. Felix Howard has already looked into it and said those people over there are getting restless again."

Alexander nodded and picked up the documents on the desk.

Some documents were at home, but many more needed his attention at the company.

"Got it. I'll rest first and check them tomorrow," Alexander said.

"Okay! Good night, sir!" The old butler was a bit surprised, thinking, 'Even in the past, Alexander would go to work even if he was sick! Moreover, Alexander would review financial reports right after surgery! Working non-stop is routine for Alexander. I am prepared for Alexander to stay up all night handling these documents. But now he actually knows to rest!'

Seeing the butler's shocked expression, Alexander said coldly, "If Catherine asks, tell her I went to sleep and didn't stay up working."

The butler's pupils contracted, and he felt a deep respect for Catherine, who lived across the way!

'So this is all thanks to Ms. Windsor! She manages to get workaholic Mr. Alexander Howard to take a break. She is truly extraordinary! No wonder Mr. Felix Howard spoke so highly of her as a future granddaughter-in-law. If Ms. Windsor marries into the Howard Family, who knows how lively the Howard Mansion will become,' the butler thought.

The next morning, Catherine took Emilia to the place they had investigated the night before.

The IP was on an antique street with many jade shops.

The entrance of the shop Catherine found was piled with raw materials. "This should be the place."

"How come I didn't know they opened a jade shop after retiring?" Emilia wasn't too clear about Blade of Dusk's affairs, but people who had been in the underworld usually had some enemies.

To avoid being found and retaliated against, those people wouldn't go into business after retiring, let alone the jade business, which would make them easier to find.

Catherine lifted her chin. "We'll know once we go in."

Inside the shop, there were many jade items, and the counter displayed some fake jadeite.

They were all low-quality items that looked expensive but were actually filled with resin.

The shop owner saw two young, pretty girls walk in and immediately put on a smile.

'These young girls don't know anything, making them the easiest to scam!' Thinking this, the shop owner looked at them with eyes burning.
