Chapter 303 Introducing Her Friend to Alexander
"No one knows the Galactic Aurora Collective better than I do!" Owen's face showed a hint of melancholy.
Juniper was stunned! "Mr. Harrison, are you also a member of the Galactic Aurora Collective?"
Owen waved his hand. "That's all in the past. If it weren't for Franklin's persuasion, who would have really joined that project?"
From what Owen said, it seemed that he, like Franklin, was one of the initiators of the Galactic Aurora Collective project!
Owen tucked Paloma in. "The thing I regret most in my life is the Galactic Aurora Collective. Back then, Franklin hyped it up, saying it was for humanitarian reasons, so I did it. Who knew I had some dirt on me that he held over my head."
"Later, he left, and so did I. Over twenty years ago, he found me and asked me to take care of Tiberius and Dashiell, so I did!"
Many things were beyond Owen's control, and even now, looking back, he was filled with regret!
"But what's the use of regret? It's useless! The Galactic Aurora Collective project should never have existed!" Owen sighed.
Catherine remembered visiting Owen with Dominic, who had brought several paintings.
Catherine was still puzzled about when Dominic and Owen had become friends!
It turned out they had known each other since the Galactic Aurora Collective!
"What about my grandmother?" Catherine asked.
Owen shook his head. "You should ask your grandfather about your grandmother. If he doesn't want to tell you, I can't say anything."
"My grandfather knows about the Galactic Aurora Collective?"
"Your grandfather almost blew up the Galactic Aurora Collective base back then. Do you think he knows?"
Catherine pursed her lips, her brows slightly furrowed.
Marcus's station was on the border, and it happened to be where the Galactic Aurora Collective was located!
Catherine calmly said, "If my grandfather couldn't do anything, it only means the Galactic Aurora Collective project had government approval."
Juniper followed up, "If the Galactic Aurora Collective project was so big, who signed off on it?"
To support such a large project, there had to be someone with enough authority to sign and back it. Otherwise, the project wouldn't exist.
The Galactic Aurora Collective project was too tempting, with too many profitable aspects. Someone wanted to gain benefits and stamped Franklin's project application!
Owen smiled. "Smart. Marcus's kids are better than mine. But there's no need to dig further. Knowing too much won't do you any good."
It seemed Owen wasn't planning to reveal what he knew.
Catherine stared at Owen for a moment, then suddenly said, "Mrs. Howard pushed Franklin into the water. Franklin should still be recovering. If you want to find him, go to the Howard family estate."
"What did you say?" Owen was clearly shocked!
His gaze fell on Alexander, and after getting a confirming nod, he gritted his teeth and said, "That crazy woman Arabella! She hasn't settled down even in old age! She almost made Franklin die when she was young."
Thinking of Arabella's bold actions, Owen was furious!
Juniper curiously asked, "What did she do?"
Owen's old face turned red, looking like he had a thousand words to curse but couldn't say them in front of the younger generation. "Arabella was a lunatic when she was young. I still don't understand what Felix saw in her!"
Probably thinking it was inappropriate to discuss these matters in front of the younger generation, Owen sighed and glanced at Paloma lying in bed.
He muttered to himself. "Paloma, as long as you can live safely, let me bear all the sins."
The atmosphere in the ward was a bit oppressive, and the smell of disinfectant was particularly strong.
Catherine bent down to pick up Paloma's medicine box, opened the foil board to take out a pill, and examined it closely, frowning. "This medicine is indeed not right."
Originally, Catherine thought Arabella's words were just out of caution.
After hearing Owen's words, Catherine believed that Arabella might have known something all along!
After checking all of Paloma's medicines, Catherine found that several of them had issues!
Juniper was surprised, "Ah? Grandma was right?"
"Send them for testing. Fortunately, Paloma hasn't woken up, so these medicines aren't needed for now."
Paloma's surgery was officially signed by Gavin, but Alexander knew Catherine was the chief surgeon, and she prescribed the medicines, so she knew their effects best!
In the short time since leaving the operating room, the medicines had already been tampered with!
Owen immediately requested the hospital to retrieve the ward's surveillance footage. "I'll go to the monitoring room. You stay here with Paloma."
Juniper followed, supporting Owen as they left the ward together.
After they left, Alexander softly asked, "Do you think my grandma knows who tampered with the medicine?"
Catherine looked up at Alexander, a slight smile on her lips.
Their current understanding seemed to have reached a point where they didn't need to speak to know what the other was thinking!
"Yes, so I plan to ask your grandmother. Do you want to come? The person who tampered with the medicine under our noses shouldn't be easy to investigate, but before that, I need to pick someone up from the airport." This was the first time Catherine had actively invited him to do something together!
Alexander was overjoyed; his eyes and brows filled with excitement.
He made a mock hat-tip. "Don't forget, I'm currently unemployed and have plenty of time. I may be injured and can't be your driver, but I'd be happy to be your bag-carrying attendant."
Having the CEO of the Howard Group carry her bag, Catherine felt her status seemed a bit elevated! "I don't have a bag that needs carrying, but you can come along."
Paloma's ward had long been arranged with caregivers, a professional team developed by Uranus while exploring empty-nest elderly companionship services, enough to ensure Paloma's safety.
After greeting Philip, who was waiting outside, Catherine and Alexander left the hospital and headed to the airport.
On the way, Alexander watched the scenery fly by. "The person we're picking up, are they also from the Galactic Aurora Collective?"
"Not exactly, but someone I trust. Not a proper person; you'll know when you see them."
Being trusted was already a high evaluation from Catherine.
"Are you introducing me to your other friends?"
"Is that not allowed?"
Alexander's lips curved into a joyful smile, his eyes seemingly filled with stars! "Of course, it's my honor."
Annie, who was driving, covered her mouth, her face full of smiles!
At Imperia City's international airport, a priest, Brad Thornton, dressed in a gem-studded robe sat in the VIP lounge, head bowed in prayer, his whole body seemingly glowing.
A young man beside him looked at him with respect and admiration. "Mr. Thornton, I am Dashiell Harrison. It's fate that we meet. I would like to invite you to the Harrison Mansion for a visit!"
Brad didn't even lift his head.
He had used many reasons to refuse Dashiell and was now out of patience. "No, you must believe in science; don't be superstitious!"
