Chapter 132 Esme Plays a Trick on Lila

Lucy sent the video over.
Esme watched the clip of the happy family, her eyes burning with anger! She zoomed in, focusing on Alexander's and Felix's faces.
'Why is Felix even there? Did Alexander get dragged there by Felix, having no choice but to join the Windsor family gathering? If this keeps up, Catherine might really marry Alexander, and I'll be left with nothing in either the Windsor or Howard families. After all my hard work, am I just going to hand everything over to someone else?' Esme thought, tears streaming down as she handed the phone to Lila. "Grandma, look, Marcus and Samuel are having dinner together. They look like a real family."
Lila glanced weakly at the video and nodded listlessly. Seeing Catherine's actions during the day had scared her. She was afraid Catherine might act against her again. She had heard that several caregivers beaten by Catherine had ended up in the ICU. Her face was still swollen, and no caregiver had come to bandage her. Esme hadn't even noticed when she returned.
"Grandma, don't you care at all? Dad and Mom don't care about you. They don't treat us as family. They didn't even invite us to such an important occasion!"
Lila nodded and mumbled, "Oh, dinner, together."
Esme frowned at her and noticed the injuries on Lila's face. She screamed and called for the caregiver. "What happened? How did my grandma get hurt?"
"Lila did it to herself," the caregiver said expressionlessly. "Also, Mr. Windsor wants you to prepare for tomorrow's flight to Novia. Lila's nursing home and your school have been arranged."
Esme almost dropped her phone. 'The Windsor family is sending me and Lila abroad tomorrow?'
The caregiver turned and left without another glance.
They were caregivers hired by the Howard family, not the ones Lila had hired who were all burly and did nothing but flaunt their power. The entire Howard Group had heard that Esme still wanted to be Alexander's wife! Last time, Esme even hit Annie and tried to fire all the female employees of the Howard Group! These caregivers wouldn't tolerate it!
Esme was completely stunned. 'The Windsor family is having a gathering but wants to send me and Lila away? Their behavior is outrageous. What have I done wrong all these years? No one in the Windsor family has a conscience. I stayed by Lila's side, yet my status is lower than a servant.'
Tears fell from Esme's face as she cried and replied to Lucy's message: [I'm being sent away tomorrow. From now on, I have nothing to do with the Windsor family.]
Lucy quickly replied: [Esme, don't be so negative. Think about it. If something happens tonight, wouldn't you and Lila not have to leave? And isn't there someone missing from this video? You and Juniper are both adopted. If Juniper is willing to join forces with you, wouldn't everything in the Windsor family be within your grasp? Mr. Alexander Howard is only having dinner out of courtesy. After all, the elders are old friends. Don't overthink it.]
Esme perked up after reading the message and thought, 'That's right. I can still do something! I have to do something!'
Esme forwarded the video to Juniper, who was still busy with her experiments in Tranquil County. She wanted to see if Juniper would get upset seeing the Windsor family happily dining together without her.
Juniper saw the video from Esme and zoomed in several times, focusing on Catherine.
She muttered to herself, "Who filmed this? Why focus on the brothers? Can you get some close-ups of Catherine? Who wants to see those boys?"
Juniper only wanted to see Catherine.
Juniper quickly replied: [Send more.]
Esme was thrilled and quickly sent all the videos on her phone. She waited for a long time but didn't get a reply from Juniper.
'Is she too sad and crying secretly in Tranquil County?' Esme wondered.
She sent a message to console her: [Juniper, don't be sad. We were never really part of the Windsor family. It's normal that we can't fit in when they are happily dining together. If you're sad, I can talk to you! Trust me, if we join forces, no one can hurt us! All of this is supposed to be yours. Why should Catherine take it all?]

The last sentence was Juniper telling Esme not to overthink.
Esme was so angry she almost chewed her phone, thinking, 'Damn it! I don't believe Juniper isn't jealous. Doesn't she feel like her things are being taken away? I don't believe it! Juniper must be pretending, trying to please Catherine, thinking she can secure a place in the Windsor family!'
When Esme tried to send another message, she found that Juniper had blocked her. She angrily threw her phone aside, her gaze falling on the still trembling Lila. "Grandma, you don't want us to be kicked out, right? Since I'm your only granddaughter, you should do something for me, shouldn't you?"
Meanwhile, in the warm Windsor Mansion, Brandon's phone rang with a beautiful melody.
Charles frowned. "Why does that ringtone sound like my mom singing?"
Aurora blushed, thinking, 'This Brandon has recorded my singing and set it as his ringtone. If he goes out for business, what will his partners and our kids think?'
Richard picked up the phone and saw a message from Juniper.
Juniper: [I want to see Catherine eating!!]
Richard smiled and casually recorded a video of Catherine eating, sending it over. The video ended with a shot of the empty seat next to Philip, where Juniper's favorite set of tableware was placed.
Juniper couldn't come back, but the family was thinking of her! Seeing the video, Juniper was satisfied, thinking, 'Catherine is so cute! Who wouldn't like such an adorable Catherine?'
Her gaze fell on the tableware as Juniper chuckled, saving Catherine's photo as her phone wallpaper, feeling warm inside. After doing all this, she put down her phone and continued to observe her research data, murmuring, "How could I overthink? I love everyone in the Windsor family just like they all do."
'They are all my family,' Juniper thought.
Brandon finished the call and looked at Marcus in confusion. "The hospital called and said Lila is in critical condition and is being resuscitated."
