Chapter 243 Could It Be a Die-Hard Fan of Richard?
Vincent was sharp as a tack, thinking if Franklin really crossed the line, he'd just take him out.
Vincent's eyes blazed with anger. "Catherine, if Franklin even tries anything, use what we taught you and take him down. Skip the coffin, just blow him to bits! Does he really think he's still running the Galactic Aurora Collective? If it weren't for him, you wouldn't have..."
Realizing he was saying too much, Vincent clammed up and closed his eyes to rest.
Catherine noticed Vincent's hesitation but didn't push it.
It seemed like both Vincent and Elodie were keeping something from her!
Starry Residence Moonlight Mansion, The Windsor Mansion.
As soon as they walked in, Aurora whisked Charles and Catherine away to the small garden.
Aurora pulled out a thick stack of booklets and showed Catherine her research on various hotel banquets and wedding venues. "Where do you think would be a good place for George to get engaged?"
"He doesn't even have a girlfriend. How's he getting engaged?" Catherine asked, puzzled.
Charles was just as shocked. "When did George get a girlfriend?"
'George has always been single, and the closest he's gotten to girls is on the operating table. Where did he find a partner? And they're already talking engagement?' Charles wondered.
Aurora pointed upstairs and whispered about what had happened earlier that day.
Catherine and Charles went silent.
After a moment, Charles spilled the beans to Aurora.
"What? So George was dressed like that because of an explosion? Nothing inappropriate happened?" Aurora asked, surprised.
Catherine nodded firmly. "Mom, you got it all wrong."
Aurora put down her booklets, and sighed in relief. "I thought George was being so rude and might have scared Emilia away." Then, with a sense of regret, she added, "My future daughter-in-law, just gone!"
Around the corner, Emilia, holding a water cup, blushed furiously. She was about to call out to Catherine when she overheard the conversation and almost bit her tongue!
She turned around and bumped into George, her nose hitting his hard chest, causing her to grimace in pain. "Ouch! George, you..."
Aurora and Catherine heard the commotion and quickly came in from the garden, only to see George hurriedly pulling Emilia away.
Charles stared down the hallway, puzzled. "What's George doing? Why's he dragging Emilia away? So rude!"
Marcus, sipping tea nearby, put down his cup, sighed, and walked away with his hands behind his back. "When will I ever get to hold my great-grandchild?"
'Brandon's no fool, so why are his kids so clueless about love?' Marcus wondered.
The Opening Ceremony at Imperial University.
The Windsor Family got up early to attend Catherine's opening ceremony. The last time they attended one was when Juniper was still in elementary school.
In front of Catherine was a pile of gift boxes, all from the Windsor Family as her school gifts.
Aurora wiped her tears. "Catherine, we missed out on your school events before and made you suffer a lot. We're making it up to you now!"
The Windsor Family had stayed up late to find videos of Catherine's previous school events.
Catherine had attended a rural elementary school, and the videos were for promoting a project for left-behind children, with each child getting only half a minute of screen time.
Richard had discovered the DVDs while filming in the mountains. Unable to return in time, he had mailed them back.
Seeing the young Catherine smiling brightly in the video, the Windsor Family members were all in tears. The next morning, as they all applied ice packs to their swollen eyes, Catherine felt both a pang of sadness and warmth in her heart.
Seeing the blurry images in the video, the Windsor Family members would capture and treasure them, as they represented the times they had missed.
Her family loved her deeply!
Juniper had taken leave from the research institute just to attend Catherine's opening ceremony. "I used to get gifts when school started too. From now on, we'll make sure you get them every year!"
Surrounded by various gift boxes, Emilia rested her chin in her hands, looking at Catherine with shining eyes. "So, people really do get gifts for starting school."
The warmth and harmony of the Windsor Family were something Emilia had never experienced.
Compared to the Windsor Family, the Hughes Family was like a garbage dump. Seeing how the Windsor Family interacted, Emilia realized that some families truly cared for their children.
They never talked about what they could gain or expected anything in return. For them, love was about giving selflessly, not about keeping score.
Emilia felt a lump in her throat, feeling like a stray cat without a home, peeking into the happiness of a house cat.
The whole family escorted Catherine to school.
The auditorium was filled with families and students attending the opening ceremony, but it was rare to see a family like the Windsor Family all coming together to send a child to school.
"She is so lucky, having so many people to see her off."
"She's in college now, does she still need the whole family to come like she's in elementary school?" The girl speaking was wearing an expensive dress, knowing that Catherine's dress was the latest from Quinn Couture, something money couldn't even buy. When she tried to book it, she was told that it had already been reserved! She didn't expect Catherine to be the one who bought it, thinking Catherine was a nouveau riche with no class, needing the whole family to send her off to school.
The person next to her nudged her arm. "Lyra Cole, that's Catherine Windsor. Don't say anything rash. We can't afford to offend them."
Lyra Cole scoffed, "So what? It's highly likely she paid for her degree. This pampered person might not have even passed the exams."
Nearby, Alkaid, disguised as a student, laughed along. "That's right! Catherine was admitted on a scholarship. The dean of the Medical University even visited the Windsor Family several times, hoping she'd study medicine."
"She got in on a scholarship? I didn't realize Catherine was not only beautiful but also smart!"
Hearing the exclamations around her, Lyra felt embarrassed, her lips curling in disdain. "Someone who should be studying medicine is in our design department. She probably thinks jewelry design is easy, but it's not something one can master just by having some drawing skills."
To Lyra, these heiresses who had everything from birth were just nouveau riche!
"Maybe you should hold back a bit. Your crush is Catherine's brother. If you like Richard so much, his sister must be great too."
Lyra got anxious. "Richard is different! He has earned everything he has through hard work."
Mentioning Richard, Lyra got very emotional. "Richard works so hard. How could he have such a sister! If he knows he is working hard filming while his family is enjoying themselves, he'd be upset!"
Alkaid rolled her eyes and started to mock. "Sending a child to school is enjoying themselves? Maybe you're just jealous because no one sent you off? I see your screensaver is a photoshopped wedding picture with Richard. Are you one of his crazy fans? Does Richard know you talk about his sister like this behind his back?"
