Chapter 152 Catherine is Stellara's Specially Appointed Talent
After Catherine wrapped things up with the Smith and Brown families, her phone buzzed with an encrypted message. She quickly unlocked it and used her backend to decode the message.
Alkaid: [Miss, we've got a problem at the lab in Tranquil County. You need to come over.]
Catherine: [On my way.]
To work better with Juniper's Phoenix Lab, the Galactic Aurora Collective set up their own lab in Tranquil County.
Catherine pocketed her phone and followed the mental map she had to the Galactic Aurora Collective Lab.
From the outside, the lab looked like a regular suburban house, nothing out of the ordinary.
At the door, Catherine went through fingerprint, iris, and password checks before getting in. "What's going on?"
Alkaid, the lab head, handed her a document. "The data we sent to Phoenix Lab got intercepted."
"Phoenix Lab's security is top-notch. This shouldn't have happened," Catherine said, looking over the data. It showed that some of the collaborative data had been hijacked. She put on a lab coat and mask. "Hand me a device."
Seeing Catherine ready to dive in, Alkaid got excited and quickly handed her the lab equipment. It had been ages since Catherine had done an experiment herself!
Five minutes later, Catherine looked at the data and reached out. "Paper and pen."
Alkaid handed them over, noticing the dirt on Catherine's shoes. "Miss, did you just go up the mountain?"
"Yeah, and I ran into the Brown family. Gave them a good beating."
Alkaid gritted her teeth at Catherine's casual tone. "Why do they keep showing up? You were too soft on them before!"
"Don't worry about it."
Falling from the mass grave wouldn't kill the Brown family and Oliver. They might lose a limb and be bedridden for a while, which would keep them quiet. By the time they recovered, who knew if the Smith family would still be around!
"It's time to release the info on the Smith family's project flaws and Oliver's tax evasion," Catherine ordered.
"Got it!"
They'd been sitting on that info for a while!
Catherine almost let them off because of Elodie, but Oliver kept pushing it, doing things that broke Catherine's heart!
Alkaid sneered, "When Oliver was working on a project, someone died on-site, and he complained it delayed his progress. He's heartless."
"If he's heartless, don't worry about it. Also, announce under the name Phantom Doctor that any international organization helping Oliver will be Phantom Doctor's eternal enemy," Catherine said.
"Yes! But what if they go to a regular hospital?" Alkaid asked.
Catherine replied calmly, "Don't worry. I got this."
She had already typed a message to George and hit send.
George replied quickly: [Catherine, finally! I thought you forgot about me! Don't worry. I'm ready for this.]
George: [All reputable hospitals nationwide and even worldwide will blacklist Oliver. He can get treatment, but it'll cost him a fortune, and he won't find a good doctor.]
George: [When are you coming back?]
George: [How's Juniper?]
George: [I miss you!]
A bunch of messages kept coming in. After replying to a few, Catherine put away her phone. With George on the case, there was no way Oliver was getting proper medical treatment. Even if he stayed healthy, the Smith family's assets would be bled dry by him.
Catherine jotted down the experimental data, opened her laptop, wrote up a report highlighting the discrepancies, sending it.
Half a minute later, the system flagged that the message had been intercepted.
Her fingers flew over the keyboard, quickly tracing the IP address. She frowned. "It's also in Tranquil County. Looks like someone from Phoenix Lab. Juniper's lab isn't so peaceful either."
Alkaid shrugged. "Not every lab is as drama-free as ours. Juniper Windsor is young, a prodigy, and a lot of people want to see her fail. Some folks haven't achieved much and are just waiting to climb the ranks."
A lot of people at Phoenix Lab were waiting for a chance to move up, and then Juniper swooped in.
Catherine had heard Juniper got into Phoenix Lab on her own merits, but the Windsor family donated an entire lab facility for her. Basically, all the equipment in Phoenix Lab was thanks to the Windsor family.
Alkaid shrugged again. "So people in the lab badmouth Juniper, and it's pretty nasty."
Especially after finding out Juniper was just an adopted daughter of the Windsor family, the comments got even worse.
Catherine grabbed the notebook with the experimental data. "Let's go check it out."
"Alright!" Alkaid nodded, loving the idea of diving into some chaos.
At Phoenix Lab, Juniper was frowning at a few middle-aged lab techs in front of her. "Mr. Evans, Mr. Cox, what do you mean by this? If you don't want to work, you can submit your resignation to the higher-ups. I won't stop you!"
The lead tech, Caius Cox, looked at Juniper with disdain. "Ms. Windsor, we've all put effort into the data research. As the person in charge, many samples were collected by us. You haven't done anything."
"Yeah, if anyone should leave, it should be you. Isn't it time for you to go home and get married? The Windsor family won't let you stay single just because you're adopted, right?" Theron Evans chimed in.
Their words were as harsh as they could be.
Juniper gritted her teeth. "What do you mean? Those experiments were clearly done by me! As the technical lead and authorized signatory, you are responsible for all the data!"
"We didn't say we wouldn't be responsible, but the data is in our hands, not yours! You, a little girl who did nothing, get out of Phoenix Lab!" After all that roundabout talk, they finally said what they really meant.
Juniper was so angry she laughed. 'Those data were clearly obtained through my sleepless nights of experiments, and now these two have stolen them to force me out of Phoenix Lab? I am familiar with every inch of this place. Although I initially had thoughts of leaving the Windsor family, I genuinely love this job!'
The other researchers didn't dare to breathe as a light, clear voice suddenly came from outside the lab. "I remember the last name of the person in charge here is Howard. Where is he?"
Theron didn't expect anyone to come in because Phoenix Lab was a top-secret facility, and ordinary people couldn't get in. He turned to scold, but then saw the logo on Catherine's lab coat, a discreet star emblem on the special material of the lab coat, shining like a star in broad daylight!
Caius frowned. "Who dares to barge into Phoenix Lab? Security! Arrest these two!"
Catherine, wearing a mask and hat, revealed only a pair of clear, bright eyes. She calmly tossed a pass to Caius. It clearly stated that the lab personnel specially appointed by Stellara were allowed access to all levels of labs!
Everyone was stunned!
Catherine sat in a chair, looking composed. "Can we speak in plain language now?"
