Chapter 328 Forcing Catherine to Accept the Apology

Lyra felt a wave of embarrassment wash over her after Otis's blunt criticism.

Otis was a big deal back home, a special professor whom Franklin had personally invited.

Otis spoke earnestly. "Lyra, it's one thing if you're not great at studying, but if your character's bad, there's no saving you!"

He looked at Lyra with a mix of disappointment and reproach.

Lyra wanted to defend herself, but the words just wouldn't come.

Gabriella frowned at her. "I'm reporting this to the school administration. This is serious!"

The incident where Lyra had insulted Catherine was still unresolved. The school administration still thought Lyra had considerable talent in design and that previous issues might have been misunderstandings.

The department head even wanted to arrange a private reconciliation between Lyra and Catherine.

But now, it was clear there was no misunderstanding.

Lyra started to panic. She turned to Catherine, trying to grab her hand, but Catherine stepped aside, leaving Lyra grasping at air.

"Catherine, I know I was wrong. I was just momentarily possessed... Can you forgive me? We're classmates, I don't want to be punished..."

"If my parents find out what I've done at school, they'll kill me!"

"My family already doesn't care much about me. I really can't afford to be expelled... Please!"

Catherine's lips curled into a slight smile as she looked at Lyra's tearful eyes.

"Don't pretend in front of me. I'm not a saint. I won't forgive you just because you're crying."

"Lyra, you smeared my name, insulted me at school, spread rumors, and plagiarized my work while trying to frame me. Why should I forgive you?"

Lyra felt extremely nervous under Catherine's disdainful and cold gaze.

Damn it! She had already admitted defeat, so why wouldn't Catherine forgive her?

Even for someone from Imperial City, getting into a top school like Imperial University wasn't easy.

Lyra had always been proud of herself.

If she were to be punished or expelled, she wouldn't be able to handle the blow.

Seeing that Catherine wasn't budging, Lyra bit her lip and was about to kneel.

Catherine saw her move and predicted what she was about to do.

Turning to leave with her bag, Catherine said calmly, "Gabriella, I'll leave the follow-up to you. If the school can't handle these matters properly, I might consider transferring."

Gabriella knew that Catherine's issues had never been resolved.

Whether it was the car accident on campus or being repeatedly smeared by Lyra, it was all undeserved misfortune for Catherine.

Moreover, Catherine was an outstanding student, both in terms of family background and personal ability.

Otis chimed in cheerfully, "If you don't want to stay in the design school, our computer science department would welcome you!"

Catherine smiled warmly. "Otis, the head of the classical music department, has also invited me many times. If I really have to choose, it would be a tough decision."

Catherine's performance when she first enrolled had become a favorite of the classical music department's teachers.

Gabriella, understanding the gravity of the situation, quickly agreed. "Alright! Don't worry, I'll discuss this with Mr. Shen. The school will give you an explanation this time!"

Catherine glanced at Lyra, who was staring at her with pleading eyes, and sneered.

"Lyra, I'm not your mom. Not everything can be forgiven just because you kneel and beg. Maybe you should find a job instead."

"Or maybe look for a position where kneeling can earn you money. You might want to try that."

Hearing the mockery in Catherine's words, Lyra couldn't bring herself to kneel anymore.

Watching Catherine leave the office with Otis, Lyra clenched her fists and glared at her back with hatred.

Stomping her foot, Lyra rushed into the principal's office, tearfully accusing Catherine.

"Principal, I really know I was wrong, but why can't Catherine show some mercy? I've worked so hard to get here.Does she really want to ruin my life?"

"Principal, for the sake of my parents, please give me another chance..."

Lyra's parents had known Franklin when they were younger, and they often crossed paths in academic circles.

Franklin looked at the crying Lyra.

"I'll talk to Catherine. This is a minor issue. It's good that you know you were wrong."

Lyra was overjoyed. "Really? I'm willing to apologize to Catherine..."

If an apology could solve the problem, Lyra was more than willing.

Franklin listened to Lyra's story.

It was just a mix-up when submitting assignments, which was the class representative's fault for not being careful.

As for the previous incidents, they were all misunderstandings.

Who knew if Catherine had provoked someone at school, leading to Lyra borrowing that book?

Lyra almost believed her own excuses.

Franklin called Catherine to his office.

Listening to Franklin's retelling of the story, Catherine raised an eyebrow and smiled.

Franklin, unaware he was being deceived, impatiently said, "Since it's just a minor conflict between classmates, don't take it to heart. Let Lyra apologize and be done with it."

"Classmates are your future network. Building good relationships now will benefit you in the future."

Catherine listened to Franklin's attempt to downplay the issue and smirked disdainfully.

"If you're so forgiving, Mr. Morales, then you should also forgive Mrs. Howard for accidentally kicking you last time, right?"

Franklin immediately remembered the incident!

Damn Arabella! He had to recuperate in the hospital for a long time because of her!

"...That was an accident, of course, I forgave her."

"Accidents can be forgiven, but what about deliberate actions? Mr. Morales, no offense, but did your brain suffer any lasting damage from your last fall? Even if it healed, you might still act foolishly."

Franklin was about to lose his temper when Otis walked into the office.

Otis showed Franklin a video.

"Mr. Morales, Catherine is the victim here. If you handle this unfairly, it will dishearten other students!"

Franklin had no idea the situation was like this!

But to lower himself and apologize to Catherine now, Franklin couldn't bring himself to do it...

Catherine said coldly, "Mr. Morales, I used to think you were a noble scholar, but now... I see I was wrong. My grandfather asked me to tell you that some things can't be overlooked."

Her eyes were icy.

"If the school can't give me a proper explanation, I won't be attending anymore. Goodbye!"
