Chapter 167 Playing the Video Left by Elodie

Michael's face went dark in a heartbeat. "Ms. Windsor, that joke was a total flop. I'm genuinely trying to apologize here!"

Catherine let out a sarcastic laugh. "Michael, you messed with my gallery, stole my employees, tampered with materials almost causing accidents, and had the Hughes Family's gallery boss openly challenge my staff. You call that a sincere apology? If the Hughes Family's strategy is this dumb, you might as well declare bankruptcy now."

Michael couldn't believe Catherine knew everything he had orchestrated. 'No way. I've been so careful. How does she know it's me? She must be testing me,' he thought.

"Ms. Windsor, I would never do such awful things. Someone must be framing me. This is all a big misunderstanding. Please don't believe it," Michael said.

Catherine sneered and pulled out her phone, playing a video for everyone.

In the video, workers clearly stated that Michael wanted to poison Catherine to kill her!

Everyone's gaze towards Michael shifted. 'Not only did he use dirty tricks to bring down the gallery, but he also poisoned Ms. Windsor? What kind of nerve is that? Besides being the Windsor Family's darling, Ms. Windsor is also Mr. Howard's fiancée. Mr. Howard just kicked Michael in front of everyone for Ms. Windsor. This won't end well,' they thought.

The guests at Owen's birthday party, all high-society elites, could see the Hughes Family was in deep trouble.

Someone immediately said, "Michael, I've reconsidered our collaboration. It's off."

"Yeah, let's forget what you just mentioned. We're not working together in the future!"

Michael's head buzzed with the surrounding voices. 'I did drug Catherine, but it was just to make her sick so I could save her and make her fall for me, ditching Alexander. I never meant to kill her. It's over. Everything I worked so hard for is over!' he thought.

Michael's eyes rolled back, and he fainted from the shock. Security quickly dragged him away and sent him back to the Hughes Manor.

Catherine watched as Michael was dragged away, her smile fading.

Alexander wrapped his arm around her waist and whispered, "Did you drug him?"

"Yeah, just to keep him from bothering Dominic for a while. It's not lethal." The drug Catherine used wasn't lethal, but today's events were enough to make Michael suffer. He'd probably wish he were dead a few more times after returning to the Hughes Manor.

A flash of admiration crossed Alexander's eyes. 'I didn't even notice when she drugged Michael. Such a seamless method of poisoning seems like something only the elusive Master of Poisons could pull off. Could my fiancée be connected to the Master of Poisons, or is Catherine the master herself? No wonder the Shadow Syndicate's offers have been ignored,' he thought.

"Should I be careful then? If I upset you, will I end up bedridden for days?" Alexander teased.

Catherine glanced at him coldly. "You can try if you're interested."

Alexander chuckled, leaning close to her ear, whispering, "I don't want to be bedridden for days alone, but I hope it's with you."

Catherine sensed something deeper in his words and thought, 'Is this guy nuts? How did I not realize Alexander could be this childish and boring?'

Her ears turned a bit red. She shot Alexander a glare and walked over to Dominic, who was standing a bit away.

"Owen, let me introduce you to my only student," Dominic said.

Owen, despite his age, had neatly combed silver hair, bright eyes, and a strong presence. He scrutinized Catherine for a moment, nodded approvingly, and chuckled. "Marcus's granddaughter? Brady said you're good at chess. Play a game with me next time."

Catherine responded obediently, "Okay."

Owen nodded in satisfaction, looking around the living room, and said meaningfully, "Catherine, don't worry about what just happened. The Hughes Family has been living in a bubble for the past two years. They've forgotten they're just dogs!"

Catherine remembered that the head of the Hughes Family used to be Owen's secretary before they made their fortune, with the early support of the Harrison Family. Calling them Owen's dogs was indeed fitting.

Dominic looked at Catherine. "I have some matters to attend to. You can leave when you're done."

"Okay." Catherine agreed and left the Harrison Estate with Alexander, getting into the car parked by the roadside.

Alexander leaned over to fasten Catherine's seatbelt, asking considerately, "Should we arrange someone to follow Dominic?"

"No need. He will be fine." As a senior member of the Galactic Aurora Collective, Catherine knew Dominic's capabilities well. No one could hold back a member of the Galactic Aurora Collective!

The Windsor Mansion.

The car stopped at the entrance, and Alexander bent down to kiss the back of Catherine's hand. "I'll pick you up tomorrow. I'll prepare everything for the trip to Ironclad Jail. Rest well today. Don't worry about anything; just treat it as a trip."

Catherine could still feel the warmth of his lips on the back of her hand. She withdrew her hand and said indifferently, "Ironclad Jail is not a good tourist destination."

No one would consider that place a vacation spot. Alexander's words were indeed wildly arrogant. But he did have the capability! Even if the Shadow Syndicate couldn't shake Ironclad Jail, the Howard Group was enough to make them wary.

As a colossal group standing on the border for years, Ironclad Jail had its own strength and untouchable power.

Alexander chuckled, "Alright. If you want to travel with me somewhere else, how about after we return? I'll arrange it, and we can go wherever you want."

Annie, sitting in the front passenger seat, was thrilled as she thought, 'Are Alexander and Ms. Windsor going on a honeymoon trip so soon? Does this mean I will soon get a long vacation?'

Annie immediately said, "Don't worry, Ms. Windsor. I'll arrange it! I'll make sure you have a great time! Do you prefer the beach or castles?"

Catherine got out of the car, slammed the door shut, and walked towards the Windsor Mansion without looking back, wondering when she ever said she wanted to go on a trip with Alexander.

Annie rolled down the window and shouted at Catherine's graceful back, "Ms. Windsor, don't worry. I'll come up with the perfect travel plan for you!"

'For the sake of my vacation, go!' Annie thought.

As Catherine walked into the house, Richard waved at her, asking, "Catherine, come and see how to open this sculpture. Where is the video stored?"
