Chapter 137 Catherine is Simply a Devil

Oliver had it all mapped out in his head, even down to what he'd ask Catherine when he saw her. 'I gotta find out who Catherine's real parents are. If they're loaded, I'm definitely getting something out of it. And that $10 billion contract? If it's legit and meant for them, why shouldn't I take a piece? With that cash, the Smith family's problems would be solved instantly. Raising Catherine all these years wouldn't be for nothing!'

Dubhe felt like puking just seeing Oliver's smug grin.

'Keep it together! There are still a ton of cameras around; don't start anything here,' Dubhe thought, taking a few deep breaths and shoving Oliver towards the small grove outside the hospital.

Ever since he got dragged into the grove and beaten up last time, Oliver had a serious fear of groves. "Sir, where are we going? If Catherine's here, can you just bring her out? I'm not in the best shape, so let's not go in."

"Let's go in; she's waiting," Dubhe said.

Oliver was confused. "Waiting for me? Is Catherine really waiting here on purpose?"

Dubhe stopped in the grove and looked up. "They're here."

Oliver looked up, bewildered, and saw Catherine standing on a tree not far away, dressed in a black trench coat! She had a slender figure, her hair tied up with a hairband George had given her, exposing her neck. In the dim night, her gaze was cold, like a queen of the night!

Oliver instinctively swallowed. "Catherine? What are you doing here?"

Celeste was also taken aback by Catherine! For some reason, seeing Catherine like this made her feel like she couldn't breathe! She seemed strange and filled with mysterious danger. Just looking at Celeste felt like a violation, and she wondered if this was really the Catherine she had always looked down on.

Celeste felt a bit scared, her voice trembling. "Catherine, were you waiting for us here? We really miss you; come home with us?"

Oliver chimed in. "Yeah, yeah, come home with us. It's too tough for you to be out here alone. Come home and enjoy life with me. We've even arranged a marriage for you."

Oliver glanced at Brent, who was staring at Catherine standing on the tree, his eyes almost popping out, thinking she was simply too beautiful!

Brent knew Catherine was pretty, but he didn't know that a little dressing up could make her this stunning. She was like a ghost of the night, with long, slender legs in boots. Just standing there without speaking, she made it impossible for Brent to look away!

"Catherine, I've always liked you. Don't worry, come back with us, and we'll get along well," Brent shouted, thinking such a beautiful woman had to be his!

Catherine looked at the family in front of her and sneered, "You like me? You just want me to help you pay off your debts, idiot. Can't you afford a mirror? Look at yourself, dirty and smelly! Oliver Smith, do you believe the words you say? I'm not a kid."

Catherine didn't believe those words even when she was three!

It was the first time Oliver heard Catherine call him by his full name, and he got angry. "Catherine, we've raised you for so many years. You ungrateful wretch! You must come back with us today and marry Brent! We've raised you for so many years, so you need to pay us back for the upbringing. Not much, I know your parents got a demolition compensation in Tranquil County. Just give me $10 million."

Catherine's lips curled into a mocking smile. 'Oliver is really shameless, still thinking about asking me for money,' she thought.

"Just looking at you makes me sick!" Catherine leaped, flipping nimbly from the tree trunk, kicking off with her calf, and landing smoothly. Her trench coat flared like a skirt in the night, creating a seductive and dangerous arc, like the scythe of death cutting through the darkness.

This move stunned Oliver and the Brown family. 'When did Catherine get such skills? Could it be from climbing trees in the small village when she was young?' they wondered.

Catherine stood under the tree, walking step by step towards Oliver. Facing her cold gaze, Oliver felt his heartbeat go haywire, as if her eyes could tear him apart.

"What do you want to do? I'm your father..." Before he could finish, Dubhe, behind him, covered his mouth with a gloved hand.

Dubhe looked disgusted. "So noisy, and such unpleasant words. Shut up."

Oliver's eyes widened, and the Brown family members around him had already closed their eyes and fainted, lying on the ground in disarray.

'When did they make a move?' Oliver wondered.

Catherine walked up to Oliver, slowly putting on thin medical gloves. She took out a small knife, flipped it in her hand, and stabbed it directly into Oliver's thigh.

Oliver almost bit his tongue from the pain!

Catherine took out a syringe and said indifferently, "Don't worry, I didn't hit the main artery. You won't die for now, but if you keep bothering me, I can't guarantee how long you'll live."

Being merciful to Oliver was entirely for Elodie's sake. But that didn't mean she would be merciful every time! Catherine's cold gaze made Oliver scared. Facing those cold eyes, he felt like his blood was freezing, wondering when Catherine became so terrifying.

After drawing a syringe of blood, Oliver was in so much pain that he was about to faint, but Dubhe still covered his mouth, preventing him from screaming.

Mars walked up from behind and casually sprinkled some herbal ash on Oliver's wound. "Picked it up by the roadside. It can stop the bleeding, but not sure if you'll survive."

Seeing the black ash on his leg, Oliver fainted directly!

Dubhe disdainfully took off his gloves and stuffed them into Oliver's open mouth. "It's so disgusting. Miss, are you going back to the lab? Leave these people to us."

Catherine put away the collected blood and glanced at those people indifferently. 'The Brown family can be considered my old acquaintances. They often harassed me and Elodie before. When Elodie wanted to send me to school, the Brown family had stolen the tuition Elodie had saved for me, almost making Elodie cry for days. How can I forget these things?' she thought.

"Deal with them, but leave them alive. I still have some scores to settle with them when I have time." Catherine said.

"Got it. You go ahead."

Catherine nodded and disappeared into the night.

'There's an art exhibition tomorrow, and it's too late to go to the lab now. But if I get the DNA report earlier, I can know what Elodie was hiding from me." Thinking for a moment, Catherine got on a black motorcycle parked by the roadside, and just as she put on her helmet, someone suddenly appeared in front of her!
