Chapter 309 Emilia is Going to Run

Owen thought back to those days and just shook his head in silence.

"Mr. Thornton only said that don't force it."

The mistakes made in youth still need to be borne in old age.

When Owen adopted Tiberius and Dashiell, he wondered if it could be considered a good deed to make up for his past wrongs.

But to Brad, these were all obsessions.

If he had known back then that karma would affect his children, Owen might not have insisted on having his daughter, Paloma...

Dashiell chuckled.

"Grandpa, since that's the case, don't worry about it. I'll handle Tiberius's situation. Your health isn't great, so you don't need to attend. Let Juniper and I take care of it. The Harrison family business is Juniper's, too."

Owen stubbornly shook his head.

"No, Dashiell, you're also my grandson. Whatever Juniper has, you have too. Just because I didn't know about Juniper all these years doesn't mean I didn't consider you and Tiberius my own children."

Tiberius was too obsessive, which led him astray.

"I understand."

"Juniper, you and Dashiell handle it together. You were raised by Marcus and Samuel, and I trust you can do it."

Juniper thought for a moment. Owen's words were clear—he wanted Juniper to join the Harrison family and give him peace of mind.

Owen's biggest concern now was his descendants.

"Alright, Grandpa, I understand."

Hearing her naturally call him Grandpa, Owen's eyes filled with tears. After patting Juniper and Dashiell's hands, he left the hospital.

Dashiell politely said, "Juniper, have you eaten? If you have, I haven't had a meal since I got off the plane. Would you join me for a quick bite? I brought some documents, so you won't have to worry about having nothing to do."

"If you're still upset with me because of Tiberius, you can look at the documents. We can keep it professional. In front of Grandpa and Aunt, we're family. Otherwise, we can be strangers."

Dashiell's demeanor was completely different from Tiberius's.

No wonder Owen and the Harrison family entrusted the family business to Dashiell. Compared to Tiberius, Dashiell had a comforting presence.

With him being so considerate, Juniper couldn't refuse.

"Alright. There's a nice restaurant nearby, owned by the Windsor family. Is that okay?"

"Of course."

Imperial University.

Catherine walked into the large lecture hall, casually finding a seat in the back row.

She absentmindedly fiddled with the USB drive Alexander had given her.

She had planned to look at it as soon as she got home, but with Paloma's situation and the late-night adventure with Brad and the Galactic team, she hadn't had the chance.

The USB drive seemed to carry a bit of Alexander's warmth, making Catherine smile.

Next to her, Emilia, wearing a plaid skirt, sat down, hiding her face behind a book.

Emilia looked like she was about to cry when she saw Catherine.

Catherine raised an eyebrow, surprised.

"Emilia? What brings you here? Decided to relive college life?"

"I saw your schedule and knew you'd be here! Relive college life? No way, I barely graduated and I'm not going back! Catherine, George..."

"What about him?"

Emilia thought for a moment, choosing her words carefully.

"Is he crazy?"

"What did he do?"

Emilia rested her chin on her hand, complaining, "I was at the hospital with some friends getting bandaged up, and he asked why we didn't go to your family's hospital. My friends were barely hanging on, so of course, we went to the nearest one!"

"Then he asked why I haven't confessed to him yet!"

"Is he nuts? Or are all doctors a bit off? Not you, of course. But George might have some delusions."

Seeing Emilia's serious and slightly scared expression, Catherine almost burst out laughing.

"What else did he do?"

"He said his emotional intelligence is 180 and that he knows I like him. He asked when I would confess so he could decide whether to accept."

Emilia's face was expressionless, but she was on the verge of tears.

Catherine held back her laughter and patiently asked, "And what did you say?"

"I told him he's crazy."

Catherine couldn't believe George was so impulsive, just going for it. Typical of the Windsor family.

"So, what do you think of George?"

Emilia shivered.

"He's great, very handsome, very accomplished. I heard from the nurses that he has a week every year just to reject friend requests from doctors, nurses, patients, and pharmaceutical reps. A lot of people must like him!"

But his emotional intelligence was questionable.

The back row was just the two of them, with several empty rows in front. Students who came in saw Catherine in the back and hesitated before moving to the front, leaving Catherine and Emilia in an empty space.

Catherine noticed this and, while opening her book, softly asked, "And you? Do you like him?"

Emilia looked even more troubled.

"I do, but I'm afraid he's not normal."

Catherine's shoulders shook as she tried not to laugh.

If George knew what Emilia thought of him, he wouldn't know what to say!

"Don't laugh. The problem with George is that he's too perfect. His life has always been smooth sailing. If he were with me, he'd find my life boring."

"He's attracted to me now because he's never met someone like me. Once he realizes that, who would want me?"

Emilia just didn't want to be abandoned.

She had never been chosen firmly by anyone.

"My mom died when I was born. People said it was my fault, that I was sinful and killed her. My dad was a bad man, too. They didn't love me."

"No one in this world loves me, so I don't dare... love anyone easily."

"Besides, does George really like me? Or is he mocking me?"

Catherine glanced at Emilia.

She still had some bandages, and the burns on her legs hadn't healed. The ointment Catherine developed would have to wait until her skin recovered more.

Her face was still beautiful, with eyes like glass beads, showing a bit of lostness and dejection.

Catherine sent Emilia's words to George, word for word.

With an added note.

[George, your girlfriend is slipping away!]
