Chapter 201 I Guarantee It with George's Reputation

Emilia blinked and looked at George standing in front of her. "So, it was you who saved me. Thanks. And about you choking me and grabbing my waist last time, let's call it even."

Juniper shot George a look full of disdain. "George, what have you done? That sounds like something a thug would do."

George met the eyes of Juniper and Catherine, who seemed like they wanted to say something but held back. His face turned red. "I needed Emilia to lead me to the Blade of Dusk. In a moment of urgency, I overstepped, but I apologized afterward!"

The Windsor Family rarely interacted with the Hughes Family, and George only knew that Emilia had a difficult and quirky personality. Using that method was a moment of desperation; he wasn't supposed to know what kind of person Emilia was.

Emilia gave a faint smile. "Forget it, I'm broad-minded. I didn't forgive you last time, but I forgive you this time."

Catherine opened the thermos box beside her and handed it to Emilia. "My mom prepared this for you. Try it."

Aurora knew that Emilia and Catherine had a good relationship, so she insisted they bring food when they went out, saying that Emilia had a hard life without a mother to take care of her since she was young. And the Windsor Family's two daughters didn't even have a decent friend. Aurora was as excited as if Catherine had made her first friend.

The steaming chicken soup had a golden hue, and the other thermos contained stewed fruit, with a sweet aroma wafting out. Catherine placed the stewed fruit beside Emilia. "Enjoy this. You inhaled a lot of smoke; this is good for your lungs."

Emilia held the soup in her hands, tears welling up as she looked at Catherine. "Mrs. Windsor is so kind."

"My mom said you have no one to take care of you, so she asked Juniper and me to bring it. We'll bring you food throughout your hospital stay, don't worry," Catherine said.

Emilia looked at the fragrant soup in front of her. Her heart was filled with infinite sadness, yet she wanted to laugh, thinking someone would take care of her after all. Emilia's tears fell into the soup, mixing with it. "Thank you, Catherine. It's so good to be friends with you!"

Emilia looked at Catherine, crying uncontrollably as she thought if Catherine hadn't saved her, she wouldn't be enjoying such good soup. "I've never seen my mom. Since I can remember, my dad said my mom was a bad person. But Maurice is older than me, which is ridiculous. The child born to a secretary is older than the legitimate one. Who's the bad person here? Later, the people from Blade of Dusk found me and gave me many things. My mom knew long ago that she couldn't watch me grow up, so she left me a lot of things."

Emilia choked as she took small sips of the soup Aurora had prepared for her. It was the first time in her life that Emilia felt maternal love, even if it wasn't from her own mother.

Catherine handed Emilia a tissue to wipe her tears. "Don't cry. You've done well, and everything will get better from now on."

Juniper nudged the silent George beside her. "The future is bright! George will make sure all your injuries heal without scars! I guarantee it with George's reputation!"

George was puzzled, wondering, 'When did I say Emilia's burns will definitely not leave scars? The burns on Emilia's leg, though not extensive, are severe enough that full recovery seems impossible. How could I guarantee it? Why didn't Juniper use her own honor to guarantee it?'

But when George met Emilia's tear-filled, sparkling eyes, he swallowed his words and turned his head away, feeling a bit guilty. "Yeah, I guarantee it."

Meanwhile, in the ICU.

Gavin stared at the patient lying in bed, feeling relieved. "Finally, he's awake. Otherwise, I wouldn't know how to explain it to Owen."

The patient in the bed didn't have the energy to speak, just looked at Gavin with some confusion, thinking, 'I remember the person who saved me was a girl. The voice doesn't match Gavin's; I'm sure he didn't perform my surgery! But who was it then?'

"Alright, rest well. Owen is on his way!" Gavin arranged a bunch of tests to ensure the patient's body was in relatively normal condition before leaving the ICU.

He ran into George and Catherine coming out of a room. George stepped forward and patted Gavin on the shoulder. "You're impressive, Prof. Davis. You saved a patient with an aortic dissection."

"You could have done the same. If you weren't busy saving another patient, this one would have been yours," Gavin said, glancing at Catherine and winking to indicate the patient was fine.

"Saving lives is the same. His condition was critical; even if I were here, I couldn't guarantee such good results." George thought about the patient's surgery and was in awe, thinking Gavin truly was a top-notch doctor!

Gavin looked at Catherine, his eyes almost twitching. If Catherine had cared about the credit, it wouldn't have fallen to him.

Catherine remained calm, only slightly curling her lips, without realizing she was the one being praised.

"What about the person you saved yesterday? How are they?" Gavin asked.

"Saved. Where did the Hughes Family stay?" George asked.

Gavin shook his head. "At the hospital next door. The Hughes Family is in big trouble, with bankruptcy and a fire. I think Anthony can be saved, but he'll likely be in a vegetative state!"

Catherine turned and said indifferently, "He took a large dose of Vitality Pills. He won't survive even in a vegetative state." Even if the fire hadn't happened, Anthony's death was inevitable.

Gavin was first surprised, then nodded in understanding. "The Hughes Family's two sons are in danger. If they can't be saved, the Hughes Family is done for."

George thought about the Hughes Family's actions and restrained the urge to roll his eyes due to professional courtesy. "But Esme Hughes isn't hurt badly."

Gavin mentioned Esme's name with a strange expression. He couldn't figure out how Esme went from the Windsor Family to the Hughes Family.

Esme's status in the Hughes Family was so marginalized that her room wasn't the best, allowing her to escape quickly when the fire broke out.

Catherine's gaze fell on Emilia, who was chatting with Juniper. Emilia sat straight, looking exhausted, but whatever she said to Juniper made them both laugh. The sunlight outside the window fell on them, adding a touch of tranquility.

Catherine smiled slightly. "It's okay. Just save them. But even if they survive, the Hughes Family is still doomed." The big surprise for the Hughes family was still to come.

Juniper closed the door and came out. "I cheered her up. I told her to stay at the Windsor Mansion for a few days after she recovers! George, can Emilia's burns really not be healed?"

George looked conflicted. Gavin received a signal from Catherine and coughed twice. "Don't worry, I have a way!"
