Chapter 52 The Inhumane Galactic Aurora Collective
With the phone buzzing, Catherine snatched it up.
Polaris, a researcher at Moon Laboratory, hollered on the other end, "Miss, someone dropped off the latest experimental gear at our lab, and it's got the Howard Group logo! They said it's a gift for Mr. Howard's fiancée. Who's this chick in our lab? Aren't we all dudes here? Can we even take this stuff? What if it's a bomb? If we get blown up, will there be any experimental value left?"
Catherine was beyond annoyed. "The equipment's for me."
"What? No way! Even though you're a woman, who'd actually treat you like one! Wait, is this stuff really for you? When did you get chummy with the president of the Howard Group?"
The Howard Group was a mega-conglomerate, running everything from oil to toilet paper across three continents.
"Just take it and zip it."
"No way, they also sent a bunch of reagents you can't even buy. Are you sure you didn't pull something shady? Did you rob the Howard Group?" Polaris asked.
Mercury chimed in, "No way! Catherine's not like that. If she robbed the Howard Group, she wouldn't just take so few things! She'd take the whole damn company!"
Catherine was mortified.
Alexander, next to her, stifled a laugh, clearly entertained by Catherine's crew.
"Shut up, take the stuff, log the data, and if you keep yapping, I'll dissect you in my next experiment," Catherine snapped.
Two ghostly screams echoed from the phone, "I knew you were heartless! She's terrifying!"
Catherine hung up, feeling pretty stressed.
Alexander was barely holding back his laughter, his shoulders shaking. 'It's rare to see her looking a bit flustered, how cute!'
"Are they your lab researchers?" he asked.
"Yeah, all orphans adopted by the Faceless Ones, picked up from international battlefields."
The international battlefield was brutal. The researchers at Moon Laboratory were all orphans saved by Catherine.
Alexander's eyes softened, "You're very kind."
"It's not kindness. If you saw what I saw, you'd have taken them too."
She rescued an entire medical lab's researchers. In that lab, these orphans were the guinea pigs!
Their intelligence was pushed to the max with drugs, electric shocks, and physical stimuli to boost their brains to the limit!
Catherine couldn't stand it, so she wiped out the lab named Galactic Aurora Collective.
Alexander was stunned, "The genius organization Galactic Aurora Collective, you took them away?"
The disappearance of Galactic Aurora Collective caused a huge stir on the dark web!
Who would've thought Catherine took them away!
Every member of Galactic Aurora Collective is a total genius.
They're at the top of their fields, and the former members of Galactic Aurora Collective are now big shots with major influence!
Catherine frowned, not quite agreeing. "Yeah, I just happened to adopt twenty-four orphans and met a few old guys."
Those old guys were the surviving members of Galactic Aurora Collective!
They later became Catherine's teachers, teaching her everything the twenty-four orphans excelled at.
Luckily, Catherine was smart enough to surpass her teachers without any forced brain development. The twenty-four orphans all had mental issues and couldn't accept anyone but Catherine.
Over time, she kept them close, and they became her most loyal crew!
Alexander went quiet.
'No wonder the dude on the phone said she'd rob if she wanted to. Turns out she's got a history! Catherine might be small, but she's full of surprises!'
Alexander's gaze softened even more as he looked at Catherine.
"If you want my company, you don't have to steal it. I'll give it to you. Just one condition: take me with you. Everything I have is yours," he said.
'Is he nuts?'
Catherine stared at him, her expression clearly saying, "Is there something wrong with your brain?"
Annie, sitting in the passenger seat, couldn't hold back her laughter. She'd been worried Alexander wouldn't know how to date, but now it seemed her worries were pointless!
"What do you want to eat?" he asked.
"Anything."
"This morning, I got a list from Aurora of what you like and don't like. From now on, the Howard family's kitchen and all its restaurants won't have anything you dislike."
Catherine was speechless.
'Is this really necessary? I haven't even said I'd definitely marry him!'

Esme had been a nervous wreck ever since she got Marcus's call!
The Howard family's legal team soon knocked on Esme's door.
"Hello, Ms. Windsor, could you tell us where you got the Vitality Pills? Mr. Howard needs you to provide the contact info."
