Chapter 131 Catherine Is Our Treasure
In the night, Alexander's profile looked like it was chiseled by a master artist. His eyes were brimming with so much affection, it was like he wanted to melt the girl standing in front of him.
Catherine turned her face away gently, her lips curving slightly, but her tone was a bit cold. "Got it."
Alexander ruffled her hair with a bit of force and laughed, a hint of frustration in his voice. 'I say all that, and this is her reaction? Winning her over is gonna take some serious effort!'
Annie was driving, trying to stay low-key, thinking, 'It's unbelievable how different Alexander is around Catherine. Who would've thought the cold and ruthless head of the Howard Group would be so bold in front of her? But honestly, Catherine deserves the best!'

Marcus was at the table, craning his neck in anticipation. When he saw Catherine and Alexander walk in, his stern face broke into a smile full of wrinkles.
"Grandpa, we're back. I was handling some stuff at the gallery this afternoon, so we got back late," Catherine said.
"What happened at the gallery? Samuel, why'd you give Catherine a problematic gallery?" Marcus asked.
Samuel looked puzzled. "What's the matter with the gallery? It is the biggest in Imperia City! I set it up for her when she was born, planning to give it to her when she grew up!"
'Even though I haven't managed the gallery much over the years, I hired a professional team to take care of it! Plus, Charles has been keeping an eye on it, so what could go wrong?' Samuel thought.
Charles glared at Catherine and Alexander holding hands, clearly displeased, thinking, 'I know Alexander wants to take Catherine from me! He definitely has ulterior motives! As for the engagement, as long as Catherine gives me our secret signal, I'll find a way to break it off!'
Charles pulled Catherine away and led her aside. "Catherine, come sit by me. I sent all the materials needed for the gallery and even got the company's construction team to help."
Brandon, worried Catherine might be getting bullied at the gallery, quickly asked, "Catherine, what happened at the gallery? Do you need my help?"
"It's nothing, just some unexpected issues. I'll handle it," Catherine said.
Felix frowned, looking at Alexander. "How are you taking care of Catherine? How could something happen at her gallery? Next time, you should go to work with Catherine!"
Alexander looked helplessly at the unreasonable Felix. He'd love to go to work with Catherine, but she probably wouldn't be willing! "If Catherine is willing to work with me, I'll arrange it tomorrow so we can go to and from work together."
Charles said, "Who wants to work with you? The Howard family business is huge. You should manage your own affairs first."
"Thanks for your concern, but everything at the Howard Group is running smoothly. I heard you're interested in that piece of land from the city government?" Alexander said.
Charles perked up. "What do you mean? Did you get information about that land?"
Alexander took a sip of water but said nothing.
Richard said, "Catherine is still young. She doesn't need to work every day. When she's free, she can go out with us. No need to trouble Mr. Howard."
"Taking care of Catherine is my responsibility. I heard you're looking to invest in some entertainment companies recently? Are you interested in EchoVerse Entertainment?" Alexander said.
Richard's eyes widened as he tried to stay calm. "EchoVerse Entertainment? That's a big company. Do you have investment channels?"
"EchoVerse Entertainment is actually a subsidiary of the Howard Group," Alexander said.
Richard was floored! He knew the Howard Group was big, but owning a company like EchoVerse Entertainment, Alexander could make bank even while lounging at home.
Philip chimed in, "Even if Mr. Howard's investments are doing well, you and Catherine aren't married yet. Until Catherine explicitly says she wants to marry you, you should keep your distance."
"I get it." Alexander unbuttoned one of his suit buttons and sat next to Catherine, looking at her with deep affection. "That's why I'm pursuing Catherine. Until she agrees to marry me, I won't overstep my bounds."
Hearing this, the Windsor family collectively felt relieved.
Catherine looked at him in surprise, meeting Alexander's starry gaze. He was willing to explain to her and her family just to put them at ease. She hadn't expected him to care about such small things.
Catherine sipped her soup, feeling her heart warm just like her stomach.
Brandon, holding a large ladle, knocked it against her three sons, angrily saying, "You rascals, what are you talking about? If you're jealous of Alexander and Catherine's relationship, go find wives for yourselves! And where's George? It's a family dinner, where is he?"
George stood at the door, covered in dust and holding a bunch of gifts. "I'm late, but I brought gifts for everyone."
Aurora immediately stood up and walked over to George, looking him up and down. "George, where have you been? Why are you covered in sand and so tanned?"
George exchanged a knowing glance with Charles and the other brothers. "Mom, I was out doing research. I was rushing to get here for dinner, but my car broke down, so I ran back. I'll go change and be right back."
Aurora, hearing he was doing research, felt relieved.
Catherine's nose twitched slightly. She smelled a faint scent of blood and medicine in the air. It seemed George was injured, but the wound had been treated. George was a genius doctor, so Catherine didn't need to worry about that.
Once George returned to the table, everyone began to eat.
Although Marcus didn't say anything, everyone waited for George to join before starting.
Charles was about to peel shrimp for Catherine, only to find Alexander had already taken over the task!
Aurora's motherly smile was almost impossible to hide as she saw Alexander naturally taking care of Catherine.
Brandon, too, felt a sweet nostalgia, remembering his own youthful romance with Aurora. "Catherine, I heard you dealt with a leech at the gallery? That people embezzled a lot of money, and you caught them. Our Catherine is amazing! I think the Windsor family's businesses will flourish moving forward!"
The whole family perked up, listening to Brandon's animated retelling of how Catherine handled Jennifer, full of dramatic flair.
For the first time, Catherine realized if Brandon ever lost his job, he could become a motivational speaker!
Samuel decided on the spot. "Tomorrow's exhibition, the whole family is going! I want to see who dares to bully our Catherine!"
Marcus wholeheartedly agreed, "Finally, you said something sensible. We're all going to support Catherine! We must go!"
The family started discussing excitedly.
In the corner, the maid Lucy quietly recorded the scene and sent it to Esme.
There was a message attached to the video: [Miss, it seems there's no place for you in this family now! You need to work hard!]
