Chapter 312 George Proposes to Emilia
"Emilia, this is for you."
Emilia's big, round eyes widened. "For me?"
It wasn't Valentine's Day, was it?
Or had she somehow become so attractive that people were overlooking her unwashed hair and the bandages on her arm?
This damn charisma, always so charming.
When she received the second rose, Emilia was puzzled. "Is my face so beautiful that they can ignore the burn on my leg?"
Catherine stifled a laugh. "Maybe?"
"Then why are they only giving them to me and not you? You're way prettier than I am!"
Emilia was utterly confused, but the guy who gave her the flower just walked away without saying a word.
This situation wasn't like the flirting she was used to!
Who gives a flower and then just leaves?
She even opened her WhatsApp, but the guy just smiled and walked off!
Emilia stared at the rose in her hand, trying to make sense of it.
After a few more steps, she had several more roses in her hand!
Emilia looked at the flowers, astonished. "What's going on?"
"Catherine, your school is the best in Imperia City. There's no way this is a scam, right?"
Catherine couldn't help but laugh.
"In theory, scams wouldn't use such expensive roses. These look like very costly desert roses."
Roses that only grow in the desert, each one a vibrant bloom from a thorny bush, full of life and passion!
"Are they doing charity work?"
"Have you ever seen anyone use red roses for charity?"
As they walked out of the academic building, almost every few steps, a student handed Emilia a rose.
Catherine's phone buzzed with a message from George.
[Catherine, bring Emilia to the grove by the library.]
[I'll transfer $100,000. Thanks for the help, just consider it a walk.]
The grove by the library at Imperial University was a scenic spot, especially this time of year, like walking through a garden.
Catherine understood. These roses were probably all arranged by George for Emilia.
She accepted the payment and grabbed Emilia's wrist, heading towards the library.
"Weren't we going home? Do you have another class?"
"I just remembered I need to borrow a book from the library. Come with me."
"Sure, I have nothing else to do today."
Emilia had come to find Catherine because George was acting crazy.
But once she arrived, she realized Catherine was being isolated at school!
Catherine didn't care, but Emilia did!
How dare they bully her only friend? She'd make sure to teach them a lesson!
Emilia hugged Catherine's arm. "If anyone messes with you, just tell me! I'm the best at dealing with these people!"
"No need, they can't do anything to me."
"That's not okay. My Catherine shouldn't suffer any injustice!"
"...Alright."
Emilia hugged Catherine contentedly.
At least when she stood in front of Catherine, Emilia felt needed. She didn't like always hiding behind Catherine!
Being protected was nice, but friendship should be mutual, with both sides giving and taking!
It felt so good to be able to do something for Catherine!
By the time they reached the library, Emilia had a large bouquet of roses.
The vibrant red roses were stunning, and even Emilia, usually oblivious, realized what was happening.
She stopped talking and looked at the man walking towards her!
George was dressed in a pure white suit, standing amidst a sea of roses, with a beautifully arranged backdrop. It seemed out of place, yet oddly harmonious.
George was tall and handsome, his tailored suit elegant, and his tie perfectly in place. He exuded an innate confidence and calm.
His gaze was always gentle and tender!
George must have arranged this in advance, as there weren't many students around.
Emilia was surprised. "Dr. Windsor, are you planning to become a florist?"
George walked up slowly, his eyes warm as he looked at Catherine. "Catherine, you can head home. Juniper is waiting for you at the gate."
"Alright, good luck, George."
George clearly wanted some private time with Emilia.
Seeing Catherine leave so quickly, Emilia panicked!
"Catherine, what am I supposed to do here without you..."
She had come to keep Catherine company, and now it was just her and George!
"Do you like the flowers I sent?"
Emilia blinked. "Can this type of rose be used for a foot bath?"
George's smile froze slightly.
Emilia was always... practical.
She looked at the flowers in her hand and the dreamy, extravagant setup behind George.
She teased, "Dr. Windsor, are you trying to confess to me? That's impossible!"
"Why is it impossible?"
Emilia calmly replied, "Have you ever seen a confession with just two people?"
Most confessions were grand, with as many people as possible watching.
But George had made sure there were no onlookers and even sent Catherine and Juniper home!
George smiled gently.
"I wanted to give you the freedom to reject me."
"I've never set up something like this before, so I asked Annie to help."
"Your past has been tough enough. I won't use any tricks to force your hand. I don't need an audience for what I have to say. Even if you reject me, you don't have to worry about my feelings."
When the Windsor family does something, they do it right.
Though the preparation time was short, George wanted it to be perfect.
Emilia blinked. "You could have chosen a different place."
"You once said you wanted to experience a campus romance."
With Emilia's academic skills, returning to school wasn't an option.
Emilia was touched, but still couldn't believe George was confessing to her!
"Dr. Windsor, are you serious? Are you really confessing to me?"
George shook his head gently.
"Yesterday, when I asked why you hadn't confessed to me yet, I didn't finish my sentence before you ran off."
"What?"
"If you had confessed, I would have said yes immediately!"
Emilia's eyes widened as she watched George kneel on one knee before her, looking up at her with those beautiful eyes, filled with ripples of emotion, all focused on her.
George spoke earnestly.
"I'm not planning to confess."
"I want to... propose to you!"
