Chapter 177 You Die, and I'll Spare the Mercenary Group.

Danielle glared at Alexander, clearly upset. "Who's she? Do you really have a fiancée?"

Alexander looked up at her, confused. "Who are you?"

Danielle couldn't believe it. 'He forgot about me? No way!'

"Nightfall, if this woman is giving you trouble, just say the word. I'll help you out," Danielle offered.

Alexander quickly raised his hands, looking desperate. "Catherine, I swear, I don't know her!"

Catherine gave a slight nod. "Am I threatening you?"

"Glad to meet you. When do you plan to threaten me? What do you use to threaten me?" Alexander replied, his tone sarcastic.

Catherine's face turned red. "Are you crazy? If she's here for you, deal with it yourself."

"Crazy or not, you still need to check this out." Alexander held Catherine's hand and looked at Danielle. "Are you with the Thunderstrike Mercenaries?"

Only folks from the Thunderstrike Mercenaries wore camo around here. From her outfit and the knife at her waist, she had to be one of them.

Danielle nodded excitedly, thinking Nightfall remembered her. "Yes, I'm Danielle from the Thunderstrike Mercenaries. I saved you, remember?"

Mentioning that made Alexander's expression change. He did think Danielle saved him, but later realized she was just taking credit. The real savior had a killer shooting stance!

Alexander pulled out his gun, took off the safety, and handed it to Catherine.

Catherine looked puzzled. "What are you doing?"

"I want that bird on the tree over there. Can you shoot it down?" Alexander pointed to a tree behind Danielle, where some Gouldian Finches, which Timothy had paid a lot for, were perched.

If Catherine could make hair accessories from those feathers, she'd look amazing!

Alexander felt a bit jealous seeing Catherine wear headbands made by other guys. He wanted everything she wore to be from him!

Catherine glanced at Alexander, raised the gun, aimed at Danielle's head, and before Danielle could react, she fired, hitting the Gouldian Finch perfectly!

Timothy was furious. "I paid a fortune for that bird! Alexander, this isn't over!"

Danielle screamed, thinking, 'She actually shot at me! Isn't she afraid of not leaving Ironclad Jail's territory?'

Alexander looked at Danielle coldly. "The person who saved me had way better aim than you."

That shot had taken out a drug lord and saved his life!

Not just Danielle, but the whole Thunderstrike Mercenaries couldn't compare to someone who never missed!

"I don't care if you lie to me. I never believed you anyway. But if you mess with my fiancée, I'll make sure the Thunderstrike Mercenaries disappear!" Alexander warned.

Danielle was shocked that Alexander knew she wasn't his savior. 'How did he know? And who is this woman with such good aim? I've never heard of anyone like her in Ironclad Jail.'

Danielle brushed her hair back and looked at Timothy. "Timothy, people are shooting freely on your turf. They don't respect you at all."

Timothy met Catherine's gaze and wished he could kick Danielle. "So what if she doesn't respect me? Even if she kicks me into a ditch, I'd be happy!"

'If I knew this idiot was gonna talk like that, I wouldn't have let her in! If all the goodwill I've built with Catherine goes down the drain, I'll wipe out the Thunderstrike Mercenaries for sure.'

Catherine shot Timothy an annoyed look. "I'm not interested in kicking you into a ditch."

Danielle stared at Catherine and Timothy in disbelief. Everyone on the border knew Timothy's temper, and she'd never seen him so gentle with anyone.

Danielle's eyes lit up, and she gave Catherine a sly look. "Timothy, is she your relative? If you're gonna protect her like this, at least teach her the rules of Ironclad Jail so she doesn't get beat up without knowing why."

Honestly, if Alexander wasn't holding Catherine's hand, Danielle would've thought she was Timothy's secret mistress.

Seeing Alexander being so sweet to Catherine made Danielle insanely jealous. She wanted to kill Catherine right there and take her place!

Catherine looked at Timothy, cracked her knuckles, and her expression turned icy. "Her mouth is annoying. Can I hit her?"

Timothy immediately started groveling. "Yes, you can even hit me if you want!"

Alexander almost burst out laughing at Timothy's behavior.

Catherine nodded, walked up to Danielle, and slapped her hard across the face.

Danielle smirked, thinking she could provoke Catherine into a fight. She figured Catherine couldn't beat a border-hardened mercenary. But Catherine's slap landed solidly, and Danielle had no chance to fight back. "You!"

Danielle quickly realized she couldn't underestimate Catherine. She covered her face, trying to fend off Catherine's punches and kicks, but Catherine's blows were precise and powerful. Danielle soon found herself on the ground, holding her head and screaming, "Stop! Stop hitting me!"

Catherine dusted off her hands and looked at Danielle with some regret. "I thought you'd be tougher. Is this all it takes to be in a mercenary group? You've gone soft."

Timothy chimed in, "Catherine's right. Our next goal is to make the Thunderstrike Mercenaries disappear from this area completely!"

Danielle looked at Timothy in horror, then at Alexander, who was massaging Catherine's hand. "No, don't do this, Nightfall, save me! I'll do anything for you!"

Alexander looked at Catherine and said softly, "Catherine, it's your call. I'll follow your lead."

Catherine looked at Danielle, smiling like a reaper. "Then you die, and I'll spare the Thunderstrike Mercenaries."

'Die? Is this woman a devil?' Danielle thought.

Catherine sighed at the reluctance in Danielle's eyes. "On the border, one death doesn't matter. Since you're so noble and want to save your group, then you go die."

Danielle gritted her teeth. "You're heartless. Do you think Nightfall will like a woman like you?"

Alexander looked at Danielle and spoke coldly, "Catherine will always be my true love! You're foolish, ugly, and can't fight. Stop making my fiancée unhappy."

Danielle suddenly remembered her swollen face from Catherine's beating. She gritted her teeth and turned to leave, with no intention of sacrificing herself for the mercenary group.

As Danielle limped away, Ethan, who was hanging on the black tower, couldn't hold back any longer. "Hey, I'm still hanging here! Did you guys forget about me?"
