Chapter 348 Then I'll Be Emilia's Dog

"I didn't..."

Emilia was at a loss for words.

If she claimed she hadn't thought about breaking up with George, even George wouldn't buy it.

But those words just slipped out without thinking.

George got it—Emilia was just trying to protect herself.

The Hughes family's twisted views on love had messed with Emilia's head, making her doubt that true love was even a thing.

She didn't think she deserved to be loved either.

George gently held Emilia's chin, his grip firm, and kissed her.

His lips were warm, and Emilia had no choice but to accept the heat mixed with anger and self-reproach. Their breaths mingled, inseparable.

"Don't say stuff like that again. At least try to trust me a little more. If you can't, you can... mess with my feelings. That's cool too."

"If you don't believe in forever love, then let's just take it day by day, alright?"

George's expression was a bit off.

"You could also try exploring my physique. You won't lose out, just have fun."

Emilia, already struggling to breathe, was startled into a coughing fit by George's words.

"Can you even say that? If I really did, would you let me go?"

"Even if you don't, I won't let you go."

"Then maybe I should play around a bit."

Emilia felt like she was getting sucked into George's logic.

By that logic, she really should toy with George's feelings and... body?

But something about it felt off.

"Didn't you say your family wouldn't let you have a dog when you were little? You don't have to be sad about that anymore because you can treat me like your dog."

Treat him like... her dog?

Just imagining it made Emilia feel a bit flustered.

George's deep voice was making Emilia's knees weak. If she weren't leaning against the wall, she might have collapsed.

"...Really?"

"Of course. I said you're my princess. However you want to treat me, I'm willing."

Emilia forced herself to stay calm.

"It's not the same... I also said I wanted to be your sister. That was just a joke."

How could George take those playful words seriously?

George leaned closer, his hand on her waist, and smirked. "Then I'll be the dog of my sister."

His words were so enticing that Emilia's heart trembled, leading her deeper into the trap he set.

Yet, his words hit just the right spot in Emilia's heart!

It felt like electricity coursed through her, sending sparks up her spine and fireworks exploding in her mind.

She seemed to like this kind of person.

While she was still dazed, George had already carried her into his room, shutting the door firmly behind them.

The sounds from the hallway faded, and Catherine peeked out.

"George... seems a bit intense, doesn't he?"

Who knew George was like this?

But she had to admit, it seemed to work on Emilia.

Alexander covered Catherine's eyes, whispering, "Don't spy on others' privacy."

"I'm not spying."

She was watching openly, wasn't she?

Catherine pulled Alexander's hand away from her eyes and fanned herself with her hand.

The scene was... quite something.

Even though nothing had happened, the atmosphere was so charged that Catherine felt her face heat up.

Let alone Emilia.

She was probably already lost in George's charm.

Alexander chuckled softly behind her. "You into that too?"

Catherine quickly shook her head, pulling Alexander toward her study.

"You're just making stuff up. I don't think like that."

Alexander's voice carried a teasing regret. "That's too bad. I thought since we're siblings, you might be into it too."

Into what? Being pinned against the wall and kissed?

Catherine figured she wasn't into that sort of thing.

"I don't have that kind of interest, and I don't plan on breaking up with you."

"I'm glad. At least Catherine's got faith in us."

Catherine smiled.

She chose Alexander, and Alexander chose her.

Since she decided to give it a shot with Alexander, she wouldn't be as uncertain as Emilia.

But seeing how George and Emilia interacted, it seemed George had found the best way to handle Emilia.

Closing the study door, she shut out the noise.

"I need to get some work done. Make yourself comfortable."

Alexander smiled wryly.

His fiancée was more of a workaholic than he was, which was both amusing and exasperating.

"I think since we're rarely together, Catherine could take a break from work."

Catherine raised an eyebrow. "Why can't working together count as a date? Or are you less busy than I am?"

In truth, he was swamped.

But every time he was with Catherine, Alexander couldn't bring himself to do anything else. He just wanted to spend more time with her.

"How is working together a date?"

"It's the best way for us to date."

"Catherine... don't you like being with me?"

Catherine was straightforward. "I do, which is why you're here."

Alexander's smile widened.

He loved Catherine's directness. He never had to guess what was on her mind.

"Then can I have a spot to work?"

"Of course."

Catherine's study was just the right size, and making space for Alexander was easy.

She handed him a laptop, pointing to the spot across from her, but Alexander shook his head.

He leaned in closer to Catherine.

"I want to sit next to you."

"...Okay."

With their chairs side by side, Alexander glanced at his financial reports while casually resting a hand on Catherine's waist.

This way of working seemed... quite nice!

Opening her laptop, Catherine saw a flood of reports on the small program she had sent out.

She was shocked by what she read, mostly about Tony!

[Formal complaint: HR Manager and Design Director Tony involved in inappropriate relationships!]

[Formal complaint: Design Director Tony taking kickbacks and having inappropriate relations with clients!]

[Anonymous complaint: Tony harassing employees, not sparing anyone.]

[Complaint: Tony exploiting employees! Pocketing their performance bonuses!]

Reading through the complaints, Catherine was surprised!

Tony wasn't just acting like a king at the company; he was treating it like his personal playground!

The program was visible to all employees, so Tony probably wouldn't sleep well tonight.

Catherine closed her laptop and looked at Alexander, who wasn't looking at his reports but smiling at her.

Catherine suggested, "Want to change the venue... for our date?"

"Of course. Your room?"
