Chapter 264 Evander Seeks Reconciliation, Begs for Juniper's Forgiveness

Ten minutes later, a cloud of dust kicked up outside the café!

A flashy red sports car screeched to a halt at the entrance, and out stepped Philip, rocking a vacation-themed floral shirt. He had on some trendy, baggy hip-hop pants, and his hair was a rainbow of colors.

Philip whistled at the doorman and tossed him the keys.

Gabriella barely noticed this fashion-forward guy at first, until Philip plopped down right in front of her!

His hand was decked out with at least four rings, sparkling under the café lights, almost blinding Gabriella.

Philip smirked, flashing a flirty grin, with an earring to boot. With his good looks and flashy outfit, Gabriella almost mistook him for a new pop star!

"Hey there, I'm Philip Windsor, partner at Liberty Law Firm," he said.

"Mr. Windsor?" Gabriella asked, confused.

"That's me. Sorry if I startled you." Philip smoothly handed over his lawyer's license and ID, clearly used to this routine. It was obvious he had surprised quite a few clients before.

After checking the documents, Gabriella finally relaxed. "Hi, I've already told you what I need help with. It's about inheritance issues."

Despite his flashy appearance, Philip's professional knowledge and work ethic were top-notch. After glancing at the materials Gabriella had prepared, he quickly grasped the situation. "So, you want to reclaim your father's inheritance in the best way possible? But honestly, if your stepmother and your father were married, your share won't be much."

Gabriella nodded. "I get that, but they didn't register their marriage."

"A common-law marriage under certain conditions also has spousal inheritance rights. Another thing, what's your marital status? This will also affect the inheritance," Philip asked.

"I'm single, and so is my sister."

Philip snapped his fingers, put away his pen, and stuffed it into his flamboyant shirt pocket. "Got it. Your situation isn't too complicated, and I'll do my best to make sure you and your sister get the maximum benefit."

"Thank you, Mr. Windsor. I'll pay the attorney's fee according to your standard rate!"

Philip flashed a bright smile. "No need, you're Catherine's teacher, and I'm Catherine's brother, so I'll give you a 50% discount! We'll have more chances to meet in the future regarding Catherine's matters!"

Gabriella was surprised to learn that the person she had been talking to was actually Charles's brother! She instinctively squeezed the bag on her lap and tucked her hair behind her ear. "Hasn't Charles always handled Catherine's matters?"

"Charles is busy. He just took the latest flight abroad for business! From now on, you can come to me for Catherine's matters! Looking forward to working with you!" Philip grinned broadly and extended his hand to Gabriella.

"Looking forward to working with you, Mr. Windsor."

Meanwhile, Alexander opened the car door and let Catherine and Juniper out.

The car stopped in front of a small courtyard in Imperia City.

Juniper was about to comment on how nice the place looked when she saw the owner standing at the door, bowing to Catherine and Alexander.

"Mr. Evander Howard is waiting in the private room, and the financial report for the last quarter is in your office, Miss."

Catherine nodded lightly. "Thank you."

Juniper then realized that this seemingly fancy restaurant was actually Catherine's, a gift from Alexander!

Catherine looked at Juniper and smiled softly. "Juniper, there are a few dishes here that you might like."

Choosing this place was all about making Juniper feel more comfortable and at ease!

Evander, a middle-aged man in a dark blue shirt, was waiting in the private room, still standing tall and commanding attention. "You're here. Have a seat."

Alexander pulled Catherine to sit on one side, leaving the other side for Juniper and Evander.

Juniper frowned slightly but sat down directly. "What do you want to talk about?"

"I want to ask if you're willing to return to the Howard Family? It's not about anything else; you can keep the Windsor name. I just hope you can give me a chance to acknowledge you publicly." Evander had thought it over and realized that his selfishness had caused Juniper to suffer! He didn't know about his child's existence at first, but after finding out, he chose to avoid it. "I'm not a good father, not as good as Brandon, but I hope you don't refuse what you deserve. You don't have to acknowledge me, but you shouldn't suffer."

Juniper pouted. "I'm doing well in the Windsor Family; you're the one who's miserable."

Juniper said, patting Evander on the shoulder, "Mr. Howard, you've had it tough too. If I were you, with a wife gone and a child not recognizing me, I probably wouldn't want to live either."

Evander was stunned.

"Don't look at me like that. You just feel sorry for me and want to acknowledge me publicly, right? No need. Don't try to make yourself feel better by doing this. Being a daughter of the Windsor Family doesn't make me feel wronged at all. The few grievances I've had in my life were all caused by you. You thought I didn't want to see you, so you avoided me. When you secretly did a paternity test and found out I was your child, why didn't you avoid me then? Now you're trying to act like a good father?" Juniper rolled her eyes, unable to hold back! "Mr. Howard, you should be glad you didn't know about my existence when I was little. Someone as twisted as you could never have raised a confident, beautiful, and optimistic girl like me!"

Evander knew he was in the wrong, and Juniper's words made sense! He pressed his temples and looked at Catherine and Alexander sitting across from him. "Alexander, why don't you and Catherine take a walk? I need to talk to Juniper alone."

Catherine confirmed with Juniper and then got up to leave the private room with Alexander. "They'll probably talk for a while. Want to go to the office?"

"Anywhere is fine as long as I'm with you!" Alexander said.

Catherine looked down at her hand holding Alexander's.

It seemed that neither the last hug nor holding hands with him was as unpleasant as she thought.

After Catherine left, Juniper immediately stood up and sat across from Evander. "Say whatever you have to say."

Evander's voice was a bit hoarse. "Juniper, can you give me a chance? I've never been a father before and don't know how to interact with you. I was wrong before, and I'll change! I've thought a lot these days. I'm very envious of Brandon and want to have a normal father-daughter relationship with you. Can you give me a chance?"

Juniper sighed softly. She curled her lips into a somewhat cold and self-mocking smile. "Mr. Howard, this is your first time being a father, but it's not your first time being a child. When you were a child, how did you expect your parents to treat you? By avoiding you or by thinking they were good to you but never showing up? You should understand that it's not that I didn't give you a chance; it's that you never chose me from the start."

Juniper covered her face and curled up, her thin back forming an arc, her shoulders trembling slightly. Her voice choked up. "I've already accepted the fact that my parents don't love me that much. Why do you have to rub salt in the wound and tell me an even harsher truth?"
