Chapter 254 It Was All Deliberately Aimed at Catherine

On the screen, you could see the car going nuts, zooming out of the parking lot, smashing into the railings on both sides of the road, and then wobbling towards the tree-lined path!

The logistics staff watching the footage were shaking in their boots. Not just because something like this happening at school could blow up big time, but also because Charles standing behind them was just too intense.

Even though Charles was being polite and all, his presence was still making their hearts race with fear.

Charles pointed at the screen. "Rewind to four minutes and fifteen seconds, please."

In the rewound footage, a person in a wheelchair suddenly showed up on the tree-lined path. Tiberius, who was originally in the car, decided to get out and move forward in a wheelchair.

Charles frowned. "Ms. Gray, I remember there's no need to go through here to get to the graduate school."

Catherine was coming to attend Imperial University, and the Windsor Family had checked out all the routes in the school overnight.

Charles always liked to have everything under control.

Gabriella nodded. "Maybe Tiberius wanted to enjoy the scenery?"

'Imperial University has beautiful scenery, sure, but for someone like Tiberius, who just got off the operating table, what chance does he have to enjoy the view?' Charles thought. "He should be in intensive care right now. Make a copy of this video for me. I'm going to hold the driver and the school accountable."

The logistics staff were sweating bullets, but they couldn't even ask Charles to go easy on the school since it was clearly a failure on their part.

Gabriella looked at Charles, her tone gentle. "Mr. Windsor, it's right to hold the school accountable, but Catherine is still attending. Won't this affect her negatively?"

"Catherine can choose any school in the world; she doesn't need to be at one where she almost got into an accident just walking around!" Charles's tone was sharp, and veins bulged on the back of his hand.

His anger, which had been calmed by Catherine, flared up again as he watched the video and thought about how it could've been Catherine in the hospital now.

"Mr. Windsor, calm down. Accidents can happen anywhere, right?" Gabriella said.

Charles's gaze paused. His presence, honed from years in a high position, was intense. His eyes lingered on Gabriella for a moment before he pulled back. "What are you saying? That this was planned?"

"From the video, it's not hard to see that this accident was likely aimed at Catherine," Gabriella said.

Charles's assistant walked in, bowing slightly. "Mr. Windsor, the driver has been resuscitated. He said he saw stuff online and thought Catherine was a bad person, so he tried to harm her."

'Because of those baseless rumors? Driving on campus to intentionally harm Catherine?' Charles thought, sneering. "Investigate further, including the Harrison Family. I want to know who's so relentless in targeting Catherine, not stopping until she's hurt!"

"Yes, and Mr. Howard called to say Catherine is with him, so you can relax."

Catherine had just left the school and got into Alexander's car. Somehow, Alexander knew about the incident at the school and had Annie call Charles's assistant.

Charles's mood lightened up a bit, thinking, 'Alexander letting me know about this shows he really cares about Catherine!'

As they left the surveillance room, Charles said in a deep voice, "Ms. Gray, would you mind showing me around the school? No need to go everywhere, just where Catherine usually has her classes."

His tone was flat, and his gaze was icy, like they were strangers. "If it's inconvenient for you, you can ask another teacher. But it would be best if it's Catherine's major professor."

His words were clear. He only asked her because she was Catherine's major professor and class advisor.

The logistics director eagerly pushed Gabriella forward. "It's convenient. Ms. Gray doesn't have any classes later. Mr. Windsor, please!"

He even winked at Gabriella, thinking, 'We need to keep Mr. Windsor happy! If the Evergreen Group and the Windsor Group decide to sue, the school will be in trouble! Even if Gabriella has classes, she has to show Mr. Windsor around now!'

Gabriella had no choice but to agree reluctantly. When she looked up, she saw that Charles had already strode out.

Gabriella took Charles around the teaching building. "Freshman courses are generally in the lecture hall. Catherine has applied for exemptions from many courses, so you just need to check the main teaching building."

Catherine didn't stay in the dorms, so there was no need to visit the student dormitories.

Charles reminded, "And the cafeteria."

Given Charles's meticulous attention to Catherine, it was indeed necessary to check the cafeteria.

Imperial University had several cafeterias. The one closest to the Design Department already had students dining, with a dozen windows offering a variety of meals.

Charles, still dressed in his high-end suit, with a model-like perfect waist-to-hip ratio, exuded an undeniable aura of dominance. As soon as he walked in, he attracted the attention of many students.

He ignored them, his gaze serene. "Ms. Gray, did you bring your dining card?"

"Mr. Windsor, are you planning to dine here?" Gabriella almost bit her tongue, thinking, 'Charles is a renowned young tycoon on the wealth rankings. How can he lower himself to eat at a university cafeteria? A meal here might not even cost as much as a cup of Charles's coffee!'

"I should try the food Catherine eats to see if it suits her taste. I'll transfer the money to you; consider it my treat," Charles said.

Gabriella breathed a sigh of relief, almost thinking Charles wanted to have a meal with her in the cafeteria.

Gabriella quickly waved her hand. "No, I'll treat you. Our school's food is very cheap! What would you like to eat?"

"Anything is fine. Whatever you eat, get me the same," Charles said, not sure what Catherine would eat if she dined at the cafeteria.

Charles quickly finished his meal and answered a call from Juniper.

Juniper's voice sounded a bit dejected, with a hint of sobbing. "Charles, something happened in our lab. I want to go home and rest for a few days. Can you come pick me up?"

"Okay, wait for me in your office. I'll be right there." Charles didn't ask for specifics, stood up, and picked up his tray. "This meal is on you. Next time, I'll treat you. I have something to do, so I have to go!"

Watching Charles single-handedly deliver the tray to the return area and leave without looking back, Gabriella thought he must be in a hurry to pick up his fiancée. Suddenly, the food lost its flavor for her.
