Chapter 360 Can You Divine? Yes, You Can!
As soon as the words were out, the monkey that had vanished earlier came back, leading a whole troop of monkeys down the mountain!
Brad got his students to hand out food to the monkeys in an orderly way.
The next thing you know, the Windsor family watched in shock as the monkeys in swarms started carrying Franklin and his crew away!
Brandon was floored.
He was thoroughly prepared to engage in a formidable confrontation with Franklin!
Who would've thought... the mountain monkeys would swoop in to save the day?
Catherine gave a nod to Venus, who was lurking in the shadows.
Venus, leading the monkey troop, moved fast, and when they left, they had a few extra folks with them...
Franklin kept struggling, only to have a monkey shove a rock into his mouth. The gritty taste made him gag, and he passed out right there!
Brad said with a straight face, "Looks like Franklin's got a special bond with the monkeys."
Brad called this... a bond?
What a wild bond indeed!
Cody snapped back to reality, looking worried, "Marcus, we gotta keep people around the cemetery. If it messes with Elodie's peace, that wouldn't be good."
Franklin was the kind who wouldn't quit until he attained his goal!
Marcus nodded, looking tired.
"I've already got that covered."
His eyes were sharp and determined.
Cody nodded, "I'm heading out now. There's a lot to handle at home. If the kids have time, bring Catherine over to sort out the identity stuff. I'll take care of it."
"Any pushback from the family?"
"Don't sweat it. The Windsor family sticks together. Any kid you acknowledge is a Windsor kid! For the Windsor family to thrive, we need harmony and unity across generations, not making things tough for the kids!"
The Windsor family members behind him chimed in with agreement.
Marcus nodded.
Cody was a sharp guy.
"Alright, I'll leave it to you."
Cody had shown up with Faye, and after wrapping things up, he quickly left with the family members.
Marcus glanced at the tombstone and let out a deep sigh.
"Elodie, I'm sorry you can't rest easy yet. It's all on me!"
Back then, they had misjudged Franklin, letting him exploit so many chances!
Looking at Elodie's photo, Marcus sighed again.
"We put our trust in the wrong person with Franklin..."
Juniper suddenly remembered something Paloma had mentioned in a chat. She had gotten into trouble back then, maybe because of some secret experiment.
Could that experiment be tied to the Galactic Aurora Collective Marcus and the others talked about?
Juniper quietly tugged on Brad's sleeve, letting go the moment he glanced her way.
For some reason, seeing her let go left Brad feeling a bit let down...
"What's up?"
"Brad, do you know how to do fortune-telling?"
Priests don't usually learn divination; that's more of a wizard's thing.
But looking into Juniper's clear, bright eyes, Brad slowly said, "I might know a bit."
"If I want to know about some past events, can you find out through divination?"
"I've never tried, so I'm not sure. We can only give it a shot."
In truth, Brad had never done any fortune-telling... let alone accurately.
But Juniper didn't see it that way.
If Brad said he wasn't sure, it was probably close enough!
Someone like Brad wouldn't lie to her!
The things Paloma couldn't remember or didn't want to tell her, she could find out through Brad's divination!
"Perfect plan!" Brad thought to himself.
He walked over to Catherine and whispered, "Hey, Catherine, you got any books on divination?"
Catherine gave him a confused look. "I'm not a wizard, Brad. Why would I have something like that? Go find a wizard!"
Brad scratched his head, looking a bit stumped. Guess he'd have to figure this one out on his own!
On the way back, Aurora brought up the Windsor family business.
"Catherine, I didn't want to bug you before, but the current head of the Windsor family is Cody, the guy you saw! Since Faye's gonna be working with you, you'll probably have to deal with Cody a lot."
"As for Faye, she's Cody's adopted granddaughter. I heard she and Esme were found abandoned by the roadside."
Talking about this stuff made Aurora a bit emotional.
"Lila always said Esme would bring good luck, and since Cody didn't have a granddaughter, he took her in. The Windsor family's not exactly hurting for food."
Juniper snuggled up to Catherine, finding a comfy spot to lean on her.
She mumbled, "Mom, I hope Faye's not like Esme. Maybe she should work somewhere else. What if she gets jealous of Catherine?"
"She won't. Faye's not like Esme!" Aurora said. "She earned her college tuition herself. I heard she spent last year teaching in the mountains, and the money the Windsor family gave her went to building roads there!"
Talking about what Faye had done, Aurora thought it was pretty impressive for a young girl to achieve so much.
"If Faye turns out to be like Esme, we can always send her packing. After all, your grandpa agreed to it, and I can't really argue with that."
Catherine nodded. She wasn't too worried about who was assigned to the hotel. But since Marcus had set it up, she didn't mind checking it out.
When Catherine mentioned wanting to visit the hotel, Aurora quickly had the driver pull over and signaled the other cars to stop.
She smiled at Alexander, who was driving. "Alexander, Catherine wants to check out her hotel. Are you free to go with her? If she has any questions, you can help her out!"
The Howard Group's hotels were all over the world, and Alexander was definitely an expert in this area.
Aurora winked at Alexander, whispering, "Catherine's probably feeling down because of her grandma. Take her out for some fun!"
Catherine looked at Aurora, a bit exasperated. Was she worried Catherine couldn't hear her?
"Alright, Mrs. Windsor, don't worry. I'll take good care of Catherine."
With Alexander's assurance, Aurora quickly sent Catherine out of the car, watching her get into Alexander's vehicle.
Out of nowhere, a shared bike appeared, catching everyone's attention.
Venus, riding the bike with a monkey, stopped in front of Catherine's car.
"Ms. Windsor, Franklin and his crew have been sent deep into the mountains. They won't be coming out anytime soon!"
"Good, noted."
The Windsor family hotel was a sight to behold. The place was decked out in luxury, with a grand, bright lobby. The crystal chandeliers sparkled, casting a kaleidoscope of colors.
The manager and staff lined up on either side, greeting in unison, "Welcome home, Ms. Windsor!"
Brandon had already given them a heads-up that Catherine would be visiting.
But the hotel manager hadn't expected Alexander to be with her!
Faye, dressed in a sharp suit, stood not far away. Her eyes lit up when she saw Catherine and Alexander!
