Chapter 60 Cruise Date

Saturn and Mars were all hyped to see Catherine off 'cause they were dying to check out the leader of the Shadow Syndicate!

But instead of Nightfall, they spotted Alexander chillin' in the car, looking all high and mighty.

When Alexander glanced their way, Saturn and Mars felt like they got hit by a laser beam. Those hawk eyes of his were all about sizing them up, especially when they were holding Catherine's hand.

'Man, the boss of the Howard Group is straight-up scary!' they thought.

Saturn leaned in and whispered, "You think the boss of the Howard Group could be Nightfall from the Shadow Syndicate?"

Mars replied, "Duh! The way he eyeballed us was like a knife, and his killer vibe was way stronger than mine."

Saturn muttered, "Damn, I thought Catherine was two-timing! The Howard Group's got so much power, do they just off people for kicks when they're bored? Can't believe Faceless Ones still gotta marry into the Shadow Syndicate!"

Mars rolled his eyes, "Catherine ain't much better. What if she tricked Nightfall into coming? Or maybe she straight-up kidnapped him."

"Good point."

They exchanged looks, speechless, watching the Cayenne's exhaust as it zoomed off.

Inside the latest Cayenne, Alexander handed Catherine a glass of water, his fingers brushing against her small hand.

Catherine sighed internally. 'I'm not a toddler. I can keep myself warm.'

"I haven't seen you for days, and I realized I can actually miss someone this much," Alexander said.

Annie, sitting in the passenger seat, got goosebumps!

'Felix worries Alexander can't date, but with his smooth talk, Felix should worry if Catherine can handle it!'

Alexander watched Catherine take tiny sips of water, his grin getting wider.

Catherine closed the cup lid, her charming eyes flicking to Alexander, and said lightly, "Do you always talk this straight?"

"Not really. When I was younger, I hated showing emotions. After my mom passed, I always regretted not telling her how I felt more. Maybe then she'd have known I loved her," Alexander's voice had a touch of sadness, his sharp features softening with sorrow, and his smile turning bitter.

"Sorry, I didn't mean it that way," Catherine said.

"It's cool. Everything I say to you is from the heart. If you don't like it, I'll work on it. Just give me some time," his voice was deep and magnetic, making her ears tingle.

Annie shivered, thinking, 'With Alexander talking like that, how could Catherine say no!'

Sure enough, Catherine said lightly, "That's fine."

Alexander beamed, "So you like hearing me talk like this?"

Catherine stayed silent. 'Why didn't I notice before how he could push his luck?'

Annie silently pulled out earplugs from her bag and put them on like a pro, keeping up her top assistant game.

"What do you wanna eat? Got any plans tonight?" he asked.

Catherine shook her head, "Anything, no plans."

Charles knew she was having dinner with Alexander, so the Windsor family wouldn't wait for her. Brandon and Aurora were all for Catherine spending all her time with Alexander, under the guise of building a relationship.

"Then let's grab dinner first. After that, I wanna take you somewhere," he said.

"Where?"

"You'll see when we get there. Let's keep it a surprise. I heard you went to Medical University with Charles today. Thinking about studying there in the future?"

It didn't shock her that Alexander knew where she went. She ignored the Howard Group personnel lurking everywhere.

"Is that not allowed?" she asked.

Alexander held her hand, feeling the warmth from her soft hand, which always made him feel at ease, sweeping away all his fatigue and scheming.

"That's not what I mean. It's just that studying medicine is tough, and most of the time is spent in the lab. You might wanna leave some time for other things," he said.

'I wouldn't just ditch my own crew. To have time for missions, I can't spend all my time at school. Before, I only had to juggle between Elodie and tasks. Now, I gotta split it between the Windsor family and Alexander. For the first time, I feel like I don't have enough time!' Catherine thought.

"Okay, I'll think about it."

Alexander flashed a dazzling smile.

'If Catherine studied medicine, she'd probably have less time to hang with me, and our time together would shrink, which ain't cool! Besides, with her talent, she doesn't need to waste time in college,' he thought.

"I've arranged for Felix's medicine to be delivered tomorrow," she said.

"Thanks! I'll pick you up then."

By the riverside of Imperia City, the shimmering water reflected the palace-like Françaisia cuisine restaurant, where piano music played melodiously.

Alexander pulled out a chair for Catherine, inviting her to sit before taking his own seat.

"What's the deal with Esme?" she asked.

"It's simple. She got tempted by the cash Ethan offered, took it under Moon's name, and got nabbed by Ethan. She should be at the port now."

Catherine frowned slightly. 'Esme is still technically part of the Windsor family. If Ethan takes her out of the country, the Windsor family would face some trouble.'

Alexander poured her a glass of wine, his affectionate gaze falling on her face, always feeling at peace when he saw her.

"Don't worry, he won't get away. Marcus's identity is special. If Windsor family members leave the country rashly, it'll trigger an investigation," Alexander comforted.

"You got people at the port?" Catherine asked.

Alexander swirled the wine in his glass, smiling meaningfully. "Didn't you also set up people? Our thoughts align. We do have a tacit understanding."

Catherine said nothing.

Maybe they did have a tacit understanding, from the time their organizations always targeted the same assassination orders, leading to many open and covert battles.

That's why Saturn and Mars were so curious about his face!

"When will you act?" she asked.

Alexander placed the cut steak in front of Catherine, elegantly saying, "No rush. At least let you finish your meal. The steak here is pretty good. Try it?"

"It is good."

After the meal, Alexander took Catherine's hand to the seaside, boarding a yacht.

The yacht was brightly lit, hosting a low-key banquet. Alexander's presence attracted many eyes, but most were on Catherine, who was held by him.

Under the lights, Catherine's expression was calm, like a queen looking down on everyone, exuding an extraordinary elegance.

"Is this Ms. Windsor? She's indeed beautiful, a perfect match for Mr. Howard."

"Ms. Windsor looks even more stunning than on TV!"

Alexander extended his hand, inviting Catherine to hold him. Even without prior notice of the banquet, her manners were impeccable.

"Is this a banquet?" she asked quietly.

"No, just passing by. This yacht will pass by the port where Ethan plans to leave."

Alexander wrapped his arm around Catherine's slender waist, leading her onto the dance floor to the rhythm of the waltz. The glass lamps cast ripples, and the ocean waves stretched endlessly.

Alexander leaned close to Catherine's ear, lowering his voice, his magnetic and sexy tone tickling her ear.

"By the way, I also wanted to spend more time with you. I've missed you these past few days. Have you thought about me?"
