Chapter 75 What makes you think you can talk to me?

Esme strutted in like she owned the place, throwing shade at the other actors waiting to audition. "I'm from the Windsor family. Since I'm here, this role's already mine!"

The young actors just stared, totally confused.

Clara, chilling in the corner, had a light bulb moment. 'Windsor family? Like, the one with the big birthday bash that was all over the news? My internet was trash that day, so I missed seeing Ms. Windsor's face. No way she's here!'

Esme paraded around, chin up, scoping out the competition.

Richard had given her the green light to audition, so she wasn't settling for some lame side role.

Just thinking about serving tea to the lead actress made her cringe.

"Ms. Windsor, this role's all yours, but the other parts..."

Esme shot a glare at Clara, who was trying to suck up, and snapped, "Who do you think you are? Who even are you?"

Clara's attempt to butter up Esme backfired, and Esme just humiliated her in front of everyone.

The room filled with snickers, clearly looking down on Clara.

Esme's eyes landed on a woman who hadn't said a word. "You, drop out of this audition."

"Me? Seriously?"

Esme scanned the room. This woman gave her serious competition vibes. If she stayed, Esme's lead role dreams were toast.

"I'm talking to you. What company are you from? How dare you!" Esme sneered.

"Sophia Grey, Harmony Enterprises. What's your deal?"

Sophia sat there, legs crossed, oozing charm. One look and everyone was staring.

Sophia eyed Esme, who looked like a peacock, with a hint of sarcasm.

Esme froze at the name.

Sophia was the queen of the entertainment world. Richard had said the lead role was for an award-winning actress, so it had to be her!

"Drop out and let me have the role. I'll pay you whatever you want," Esme demanded, eyeing Sophia. With Richard by her side, she'd be famous in no time.

Sophia looked puzzled. "What?"

Esme waved her hand like shooing a fly. "Name your price."

Sophia stared at Esme like she was nuts. "You better move. I need to audition." She strutted around Esme in her high heels, not even glancing at the fuming Esme, and left.

Seeing Sophia leave, everyone ignored Esme, thinking, 'Is she here to embarrass the Windsor family?'

Clara sidled up to Esme, trying to suck up. "Ms. Windsor, don't worry. This role's yours. Just talk to the Windsor family. I heard Richard invested in this play."

"What does Richard's investment have to do with you? The lead role is mine!" Esme snapped.

Clara fumed, thinking, 'Does Esme not get it? I hinted so clearly!'

Sophia was already set to play the lead. She was just here to go through the motions. The audition wrapped up quickly.

Seeing Sophia, Esme's heart sank. 'As long as Sophia's here, I don't stand a chance!'

Her eyes landed on Clara, who was practically groveling beside her.

"You go tell Sophia to back off, and I'll let you play a minor role serving tea in front of me," Esme ordered.

Clara gritted her teeth, plotting to get both Sophia and Esme out of the picture.

Clara approached Sophia, putting on her sweetest voice, "Ms. Grey, I'm such a big fan. I've always loved your work."

Sophia eyed Clara, remembering how much trouble she caused Catherine in the Smith family, and rolled her eyes. 'With that face and brain, she thinks she's prettier than Catherine?'

"Then name one of my works," Sophia challenged.

Clara froze. 'How the heck should I know what movies Sophia's been in?'

"I can't remember right now, Ms. Grey. I really like you, but Ms. Windsor demanded you to drop out of the audition..." Clara stammered.

Sophia's eye-roll was still stunningly beautiful.

"Seriously? The Windsor family doesn't even acknowledge her, and she dares to call herself Ms. Windsor? Last time I watched the live broadcast, the two Windsor daughters didn't look like this." Sophia raised her chin arrogantly, glaring at the nearly frantic Esme.

'What is Sophia talking about? She dares to bring up Catherine's birthday party. Brandon must have been brainwashed by Catherine and Juniper! After that party, I became a joke. My friends don't even invite me to play cards anymore! If it weren't for that, would I be doing this demeaning stuff for money now?' Esme fumed before snapping, "Shut up! What right do you have to judge?"

Sophia shrugged, her red lips parting in an innocent smile.

Esme was so mad she wanted to hit someone!

She wanted to tear Sophia's face apart and wipe that smug look off her!

Before Esme could pounce, a cold voice cut through the tension.

"What's the commotion? If you don't want to audition, get out!" A man in a sharp suit walked in, exuding nobility. His jawline was sharp and handsome, his sleeves rolled up, and he had a natural kingly aura. The room fell silent, with only the sound of people gasping.

Esme quickly clung to him, tears in her eyes, "Richard, this woman is bullying me! She won't let me audition. I just want a minor role. How can she bully me just because she's a senior in the industry? I'm your sister, Richard."

Richard didn't even glance at Esme. His clear gaze fell on Sophia, and he apologized, "Sorry to bother you. My little sister said she's your fan and is waiting for you in the car outside. Can you meet her?"

Sophia had known Richard for a long time, and it was the first time she saw him speak so gently.

It seemed Catherine's new family cared more about her than the Smith family ever did.

"Of course, I'm also very interested in Ms. Windsor. But this person pretending to be Ms. Windsor..." Sophia said, giving a meaningful look at the trembling Esme, then strutted away in her high heels.

Sophia walked straight to the Cayenne, opened the door, and got in. She took off her earring and handed it to Catherine, saying, "Miss, have Mercury improve this. This bug is too ugly and messes with my look."

"Got it," Catherine replied.
