Chapter 213 Richard's Scandal

Philip knew that no matter what he said, no one would back him up. He shot a desperate look at George, hoping for some support. "George, you're a doctor. Do you think Mr. Howard's condition is serious?"

George barely looked up. "Mr. Howard's got a fever, right? The wound's treated fine. Some porridge would do him good."

'Is this really George? Is he actually worried about what Alexander should eat? But is that really the main issue here?' Philip thought.

George grabbed the soup next to him and handed it to Emilia. "Here, eat this. It's good for your lungs."

"Thanks, George."

Aurora felt really pleased seeing Catherine and Alexander getting along. But her sons? They were a different story. Aurora glared at George and Philip. "You two better bring a girlfriend home this year! Or don't even think about coming back!"

With Charles and Richard not around, all the pressure was on George and Philip.

George threw his hands up. "Mom, Charles doesn't even have a girlfriend yet. Push him first!"

"Doesn't matter. None of you are off the hook!" Aurora snapped.

Philip jumped up. "I'm full! Got a bunch of divorce cases today, so I'm heading to court!"

Aurora looked puzzled. "Divorce? Aren't you a criminal lawyer? Why are you handling divorce cases?"

Philip's face stayed calm. "It turns into a criminal case when there's a dismemberment. Gotta go!"

He grabbed some bread and milk from the table and left the Windsor Mansion without looking back.

George rubbed his forehead. "Mom, I've been in surgery for over twenty hours straight. My head's killing me. I'm going to sleep!"

Aurora's focus shifted immediately. "You're a doctor and you still don't take care of yourself. Go get some rest."

Juniper buried her head in her food, trying to stay under the radar and avoid Aurora's attention.

But Aurora's eyes landed on her. "Juniper!"

"Mom! I have to go to the lab for work tomorrow. I won't be back for dinner tonight. Owen invited me over." Juniper's short vacation was ending, and she had a mountain of work waiting in the lab. She didn't want to get roped into a blind date by Aurora just yet.

Aurora sighed, watching her kids scatter. "I never get a moment's peace with these kids. I saw a rumor about Richard yesterday and wanted to ask him about it!"

But Richard hadn't been home at all, always claiming he was filming or at events.

Emilia looked curious. "A rumor? With who?"

Aurora eagerly pulled out her phone and showed Catherine and Emilia the screenshots she had saved.

Catherine recognized the familiar face in the photo. "Sophia? Isn't she filming with Richard?"

"Yeah, she was here a few days ago."

Sophia had met Aurora when she came with Oscar to the Windsor Family's public gem betting event.

Aurora was excited. "Catherine, Richard never gets involved in rumors with actresses. This is the first time, and his company hasn't denied it. Do you know anything about this actress? I couldn't find much!"

No wonder Aurora was so worked up.

Richard despised using rumors with actresses to boost his fame. He'd managed to avoid any gossip since his debut. Now, with this one floating around and no denial from him, Aurora was over the moon!

Sophia had crafted her own backstory, and her past with the Galactic Aurora Collective was well-hidden. Even if Aurora dug something up, it wouldn't be much help.

Catherine thought for a moment, then called Sophia right in front of Aurora to get the scoop on the rumor.

"Don't be silly. It's probably just a trending topic Mars bought. I don't need that kind of attention," Sophia said. "But I did hear Richard mention something about a pregnancy on set. Maybe he's got a girlfriend he hasn't told you about?"

Aurora was so shocked she dropped her fork! "I need to find Richard and ask him. How could he keep something this big from the family!"

Catherine couldn't stop Aurora and Brandon, so she just rubbed her temples and asked Sophia to handle things on set when Aurora showed up to avoid any drama.

Marcus coughed and looked at Emilia. "You're about the same age as Catherine, right? Shouldn't you be in school? I can help set that up."

Emilia quickly waved her hands. "I wasn't good at school."

The Windsor kids were all academic stars from a young age. Marcus had never seen a kid with such poor grades and was momentarily stunned, forgetting to hide his shock as he stared at Emilia.

The thought of going back to school gave Emilia a headache, so Marcus gave up on the idea of sending her.

After dinner, Emilia headed back to Blade of Dusk, and Catherine looked at Alexander, who was still hanging around in her room. "You should go rest."

"My house is too empty, not like a home. Your place is lively, and I like it."

Catherine thought of the cold, empty Howard Mansion. It was luxurious but lacked the warmth of a home. "I'll set up a guest room for you."

"But I want to stay in your room."

Catherine frowned at Alexander's stubbornness. "Alexander, would Felix even recognize you with how shameless you're being?"

Alexander's face lit up with a soft smile. "Felix probably thinks I'm not shameless enough. If being shameless means I can keep the people I want, I don't mind."

Catherine looked at him helplessly. She thought of Felix's suggestive winks, realizing he indeed wished Alexander were even more shameless. "I have to go to the airport to pick someone up today. You can rest here."

Alexander grabbed Catherine's hand, his eyes soft. "I'll go with you."

Anyone Catherine would personally pick up must be important to her.

"You're not well enough to go out," she said.

"It's okay. I want to be with you." Alexander held Catherine's hand and placed a light kiss on the back of it. "If you don't want to share your life with me, at least don't refuse me entering your life."

Catherine looked down at him, her long eyelashes casting shadows. "Alexander, didn't you say you would tell me when we first met?"
