Chapter 180 Let Juniper Choose for Herself

'Juniper's mom is Uncle Evander's wife. Even though she had an accident before they could tie the knot, Uncle Evander's always considered her his wife all these years! What if she's still alive?' Alexander wondered. "Catherine, are you talking about what Jacob said when he was drunk?"

"He wasn't drunk; he was faking it. I remember Ethan once mentioned during a mission that their family has a genetic trait that keeps them from getting drunk," Catherine replied.

Ethan turned around slowly, an awkward smile on his face as he thought, 'When did I say that? I can't remember at all! How could Blackfire remember such a small detail?'

Timothy shouted angrily, "What are you staring at? If you keep looking at my granddaughter, I'll gouge your eyes out!"

Ethan gritted his teeth, realizing that an offhand comment he made had betrayed Jacob. "No, I'm just amazed at how Ms. Windsor's head looks so small, yet she remembers so many things!"

Catherine lifted her chin and said disdainfully, "From what Jacob said, it seems they used the same methods on my grandma and Juniper's mom. Since grandma was still alive but had forgotten some things, I reasonably suspect Juniper's mom is the same."

Alexander's cold gaze fell on Matthew.

Matthew's lips curled into a harmless smile. Meeting Alexander's murderous look, he shrugged and gave a helpless expression. "I've told you everything I know. I don't know anything else, and Jacob knows even less."

Catherine looked at Timothy, took off her magnetic earrings, and tossed them to him. "There's a copied file in there, with videos and photos grandma left behind. The password is her birthday."

Timothy hurriedly caught the item Catherine casually threw, afraid it might break because it contained everything Elodie had left behind!

Timothy looked at Catherine and Alexander, his voice lowering. "Are you leaving?"

"Yeah, I've asked everything I wanted to know. There's nothing more to find out here," Catherine replied.

Timothy's face showed a hint of reluctance and sadness. He had lived a turbulent life, and the only person he cherished was Elodie. With Elodie gone, his heart had died too.

Now, at the sight of Elodie's granddaughter, a spark of hope suddenly ignited in Timothy's heart! "Forget it, this place isn't good. Go, don't look back!"

He stood there watching Catherine and Alexander walk towards the helicopter, his eyes filled with deep reluctance.

The sound of the helicopter's rotors roared continuously. Catherine, sensing something, turned back to look at Timothy in the storm. "I'll come back to settle the score with you! Timothy, remember to stay alive!"

Timothy had tried to plot against Catherine multiple times, even inviting other assassin organizations from the dark web to join forces to kill her. She hadn't forgotten that.

No matter what Timothy's reasons were, he at least owed her a debt.

Timothy's eyes showed some excitement, his voice trembling. "Alright! I'll be waiting for you to come after me!"

Watching the helicopter rise into the sky and disappear from Ironclad Jail's range, Ethan sighed. "Matthew, I suddenly feel like Abyssal Blades will never be able to surpass the Faceless Ones and the Shadow Syndicate."

Matthew looked puzzled. "When did you ever think you could take them down? What did I do to give you that misunderstanding?"

'Even if Catherine and Alexander aren't from the Windsor Family and the Howard Family, the strength of the Faceless Ones and the Shadow Syndicate is still above the Abyssal Blades, right? Does Ethan always think he can replace them?' Matthew thought.

Timothy wiped the tears from his face, clutching the item Catherine gave him with a big grin, ready to head inside and check it out. As he passed Ethan and Matthew, he kicked Ethan into the pool.

"Timothy, are you nuts? Why'd you kick me in?" Ethan yelled.

"For being disrespectful to my granddaughter. Stay down there and cool off! If this guy didn't have bandages all over his head, you'd both be cooling off together!" Timothy snorted and walked away.

---

The Windsor Mansion.

As soon as Catherine and Alexander walked in, they saw the living room packed with people sitting in neat rows.

The whole Windsor Family was there, along with Felix and Samuel. Even Grace, who should have been busy with an experiment, had specially requested to come home!

The room was eerily quiet, the ticking of the clock in the living room clearly audible.

Seeing so many people, Catherine realized they must have come because of Juniper!

Marcus waved at Catherine. "You're back? Good job. Timothy didn't give you a hard time, did he? Come and sit next to me. We've been waiting for you. Have you eaten?"

"Everything's fine. We've already eaten," Catherine replied.

They had grabbed a bite on the way back, and Catherine hadn't expected to see so many people as soon as she walked in.

"Alexander, you've worked hard too, taking care of Catherine all the way. Go to your grandpa; otherwise, he might die of anger," Marcus said.

For the first time, Felix didn't retort to Marcus's sarcastic remarks. He held his cane with both hands, trembling uncontrollably, his gaze never leaving Juniper.

Catherine obediently sat next to Marcus, with Juniper on her right.

Juniper leaned in quietly and whispered, "Don't be afraid. They'll leave once they're done talking."

Catherine gently scratched Juniper's palm to comfort her.

In this situation, Juniper should be the one who was scared.

Marcus glanced at Felix, who hadn't said a word. "Since it's already happened, I won't say much. Whatever Juniper decides, we'll support her."

Grace snorted, "It's such a big deal, and Evander doesn't even show up. Does Juniper even need to choose?"

Alexander looked at Felix, also feeling that Evander was being unreasonable. "I'll contact him."

Felix said in a deep voice, "No need. He's gone to request that Juniper be transferred back to the research institute in Imperia City. At least he's done something right."

Samuel looked at Catherine, smiling. "Catherine, did you find anything else this time?"

Catherine nodded. "I still don't know what happened to my Grandma Elodie back then, but Alexander and I both believe Juniper's mother might still be alive. Grandpa Felix, who exactly is Juniper's mother?"

Only the Howard Family knew who had been engaged to Evander back then.

Felix suddenly stood up! "Catherine, you're saying she's still alive? Then why hasn't she come to find Evander or Juniper?"

'How could a mother be so heartless?' Felix wondered.

Catherine shook her head, calmly saying, "If she's still alive, she might have lost her memory like Grandma Elodie."

Felix's lips moved, but he couldn't say a word for a long time. "It's all a sin! If she is still alive but has forgotten everything, forgotten Evander and Juniper, then Juniper…"

Juniper was too pitiful; his heart was breaking! He didn't finish his sentence, but his eyes were fixed on Juniper, tears streaming down his face!
