Chapter 125 Let's Go to Ironclad Jail Together

"Hey Catherine, glad you wanna go out with me. Does this mean you miss me already?" Alexander asked with a grin.

Catherine quickly figured out that Mercury probably sent the message using her account. She thought, 'Man, the folks in the Galactic Aurora Collective are something else. They're total geniuses with a million tricks up their sleeves! Even if my phone never leaves my side, they can still use some computer program to spoof my number and text Alexander!'

Uranus whistled, looking like he had it all figured out. "Relax, we've jammed the signals around here. Alexander's big setup won't get us caught. Worst case, some folks online will think a rich man's proposing nearby, and we might become a tourist spot."

Catherine glanced helplessly at her carefree team, thinking this wasn't exactly a good thing.

Dubhe eyed the roses and joked, "Alexander, if you don't want these flowers, can we make macarons out of them? We'll send you some too!"

"Go ahead, they're edible. They're just to make Catherine happy," Alexander replied, holding Catherine's waist with no intention of letting go.

Catherine took a deep breath. "Let go, or I'll punch you."

"Is sparring part of our date? Next time, I'll book a gym. Or do you prefer an underground fight club?" Alexander teased but loosened his grip as she asked.

Catherine turned to her team, smiling sweetly. "You're all in trouble. Just wait."

Everyone felt a chill and quickly covered their necks, running off!

Alexander's face was full of affectionate smiles as he watched the fleeing members of the Galactic Aurora Collective. "Your team has great personalities."

'At least I can see they genuinely follow Catherine, with admiration and respect. Catherine's way of managing her team is impressive. To have the famous Galactic Aurora Collective working for her, there must be more extraordinary qualities I haven't discovered yet. No rush, we have plenty of time. I'll slowly uncover all her good qualities,' Alexander thought.

"It was Mercury who sent you the message, not me." Catherine pulled out her phone, glanced at the message Mercury had edited, and looked speechless!

[A date? Miss you, my darling!]

Anyone could tell the message wasn't from her. Yet Alexander believed it and came all the way here!

Alexander chuckled softly but still held Catherine's waist. "I know it wasn't you who sent it, but I really wanted to go on a date with you, so I came. I'm not great at pleasing girls. Annie taught me some stuff. I didn't do very well, but bear with me. I'll get better."

'He knows the message isn't from me, so why did he come? Just because he wants to go on a date with me?' she wondered.

"These things were prepared hastily. They might not be great. I couldn't find more wild roses," Alexander explained. He knew Catherine liked wild roses, but it was tough to find so many on short notice, so he chose the more vibrant ones.

"There's no need. Don't make such a big scene here next time," she said.

"Okay, next time we'll go somewhere else for our date. I'll give you a bigger surprise."

"No need."

'Forget the surprises. It's good enough if I don't get scared when I go out! But being valued by someone does feel nice,' she thought.

"They said your experiment's done. How about a date?" Alexander asked with a hopeful smile.

"Sure," Catherine replied.

'I'm too embarrassed to go back to the lab right now. I can already imagine they teasing me if I walk in now. Since I have something to discuss with Alexander anyway, we might as well go together!' Catherine thought.

Alexander's car was parked on the outskirts of the flower field. He opened the car door for Catherine and leaned in to fasten her seatbelt, letting her catch a whiff of his cologne. It was faint but, like him, hard to ignore!

"So, what experiment were you working on this afternoon?" he asked.

"Guess," she replied with a smirk.

Alexander thought for a moment, raising an eyebrow. "Is it about the parentage between Brandon, Marcus, and Lila?"

Catherine turned to look at the scenery outside. This was Windsor family business, and he shouldn't be asking, but she wouldn't stop him from guessing. "Lila isn't my biological grandmother. Everything else is fine."

'As for Esme, I still need to discuss it with Brandon first to see how he feels. After all, whether it's Lila or Esme, they've spent more time with Brandon!' she thought.

Alexander chuckled softly. "You seem cold, but you actually care a lot about your family's feelings."

He was always so honest, wanting to express his thoughts and let her feel his affection!

Catherine propped her head with one hand, hiding the blush creeping up her face. His words always had some ambiguous meaning.

"I'm glad. At least it proves that when we get married, you'll care about me as much as you care about your family," Alexander said with a joyful smile.

Catherine's heart skipped a beat. 'The care he wants, is it just like family? Maybe for Alexander, it's about needing a marriage partner, not something more.'

Catherine couldn't tell if she felt disappointed or sad, making her emotions momentarily confused. "I have something I need your help with. Name your terms."

"Let's hear it," he said, intrigued.

Catherine explained Jacob's situation. "My people aren't in Ironclad Jail, but if the Shadow Syndicate needs information from other prisons, the Faceless Ones will provide it for free."

Alexander focused on the road ahead, his usual cold arrogance softened with a bit of tenderness. "I don't need prison information right now. It's not hard for you to go to Ironclad Jail, but I need to accompany you."

He explained in a low voice, "My friend only recognizes me. If you go alone, you won't see Jacob. As for the terms, I need to think about it."

'This is the first time my fiancée has asked me to name the terms, so I have to seize the opportunity!' he thought.

Catherine said flatly, "The offer won't last forever."

Alexander chuckled softly. "My terms are simple. At least until I'm ready to take you to Ironclad Jail, think of me when you have time."

His voice was cold yet filled with lingering affection. "Catherine, my condition is for you to try to trust me a little. You don't need any exchange of benefits for me to help you. Not all feelings in this world can be measured by benefits. I like you for who you are, not because you are Blackfire or anyone else."

Alexander looked into Catherine's eyes, his words carrying a hint of dominance. "I hope, or rather I demand, that you try to like me a little too."
