Chapter 269 The Culprit

The whole research forum was going nuts!

The message that just got sent out was already blowing up with replies.

Juniper clutched her phone, her face lit up with excitement. "How did my idol find out about Eddy's mess? Or has it gotten so big that even the Galactic Aurora Collective knows?"

The Galactic Aurora Collective was like a god in the medical forum world. Every post they made caused a huge buzz in the industry.

Juniper's report, sent from her own ID, was still pending review!

Soon, another message popped up on the forum: [Real-name report: Eddy Bowers for academic misconduct, reported by Phoenix Lab, Research Institute No. 3.]

Phoenix Lab wasn't mainly focused on medicine, but it was still a big deal in the research community!

Juniper quickly got a message from Evander.

Evander: [I saw you submitted a report too. Reporting under the lab's name is faster and skips the review process.]

Evander: [Someone from the Galactic Aurora Collective asked me to send it.]

'The Galactic Aurora Collective not only reports Eddy but also gets Evander to report too?' Juniper thought.

The academic world is small, and soon the forum was flooded with various reports, but the top one was still the post from Alioth of the Galactic Aurora Collective!

Eddy sat on the ground, looking defeated. "What is happening? How could the Galactic Aurora Collective notice someone as insignificant as me?"

'Everything is over! It's all because of that damn Jessa. Why did she have to commit suicide for no reason! My career is completely ruined,' Eddy thought.

Catherine's hand was in her coat pocket as she looked at the tearful Eddy. "You should regret what you did, not blame Jessa, who was overwhelmed and committed suicide."

Someone like Eddy was no longer fit to stay in a position of saving lives.

Gavin, standing nearby, noticed Catherine's earlier actions and thought, 'Could it be that Catherine knows someone from the Galactic Aurora Collective? If her medical skills are all learned from Alioth of the Galactic Aurora Collective, that would make sense. No wonder Catherine always looks down on my lab! The Galactic Aurora Collective is the best lab in the industry. If I didn't have my current position, I'd want to go there too!'

Gavin rubbed his hands together. "Catherine, do you know someone from the Galactic Aurora Collective?"

'If I can leverage that connection, it would be fantastic!' Gavin thought.

George was surprised. "How could Catherine know someone from the Galactic Aurora Collective?"

Catherine replied indifferently, "I've read Alioth's papers."

Juniper got excited all of a sudden. "Alioth's papers are groundbreaking, aren't they? Her ideas are so innovative, and she's practically a pioneer in the research industry! If I ever get the chance to meet Alioth, I would definitely ask for her autograph!"

Seeing Juniper praise her so enthusiastically, Catherine couldn't help but smile a little. "She is indeed very impressive."

In fact, many of the papers were written by Catherine while she was doing experiments. During that time, the Galactic Aurora Collective was short on research funds, so they entered a few competitions and won quite a bit of prize money.

The Galactic Aurora Collective had since become famous in the research community.

Juniper excitedly said, "Then come with me to the research summit in a few days! Maybe Alioth will be there."

"Sure." Catherine was indeed going to attend the summit, so she agreed to Juniper's invitation as well.

A nurse popped her head out of the ward, excitement all over her face. "Prof. Gavin! Jessa's awake and wants to see the person who saved her!"

"I'll be right there," Gavin replied.

As Juniper and George walked ahead, Gavin tugged on Catherine's sleeve, flashing a bright smile with a hint of flattery. "Catherine, you must know the core members of the Galactic Aurora Collective. Can you take me to visit their lab? Or ask if they need any researchers? I'd love to work for them after I retire!"

Catherine shot him down without mercy. "You're too old, and your intelligence can't keep up. You'd only be able to clean toilets at the Galactic Aurora Collective."

Gavin was left speechless, his face turning red. No one had ever told him his intelligence couldn't keep up before!

On second thought, Gavin felt the name Galactic Aurora Collective sounded familiar. "Is the Galactic Aurora Collective related to that mysterious international organization that disappeared?"

Catherine gave him a light glance. "It's just a coincidence. I could also change my last name to Davis. Wouldn't that be a coincidence too?"

Gavin quickly shut his mouth.

In the ward, the newly awakened Jessa was still a bit confused. Her gaze swept over Gavin and Catherine, who had just entered, and then settled on Catherine at the back. "You saved me. Thank you."

Catherine nodded slightly. "Life only happens once. Eddy will get the punishment he deserves. Don't punish yourself and your family with death."

George assumed Jessa was thanking Catherine for discovering her suicide attempt in the office.

George smiled and comforted her, "When you get better, come be my resident! Don't worry, I never exploit my students. I guarantee you'll complete your residency smoothly!"

Jessa knew George, knowing he was famous in the hospital for being kind to his students. Her eyes filled with tears, and she weakly nodded.

Jessa's classmate was crying. "You're so silly! You said it was okay when you were bullied in school, so why did you think you couldn't take it now?"

"I didn't want to either, but I couldn't help it," Jessa said.

Bullied in school, exploited at work, her papers given to others, and she hadn't rested in a long time. All these things led to her final decision to commit suicide.

Gavin frowned. "I remember you were a student at Medical University. How did you encounter bullying? Did you report it to the school authorities?"

Jessa smiled awkwardly. "It's okay. The person who bullied me, Esme Windsor, has already dropped out. It's karma."

"What are you talking about! She just texted you a few days ago, asking for money, saying if you didn't give it, she'd make sure you couldn't complete your residency and never become a doctor!" Jessa's classmate said.

The nearby members of the Windsor Family were all wide-eyed, realizing Jessa's suicide was related to Esme.

George uncertainly took out his phone. "Is this Esme Windsor you're talking about?"

He still had a photo taken with the Windsor Family. Lila and Esme insisted on taking it together, so he kept it.

Jessa saw the face and had a physiological stress reaction.

The doctors around were indignant. "Who knows what kind of family they are! Making you do their homework and take exams for them without paying was bad enough, but now they're asking you for money!"

Gavin also remembered. "The student who took the exam for her before was you!"

Jessa was a graduate student, and since Marcus didn't pursue the responsibility of the student who took the exam, only Charles had seen Jessa.

George rubbed his temples. "Tell me everything Esme has done! If I'm not mistaken, the family she referred to should be mine."

After all, there weren't many notable Windsor families in Imperia City!
Both Princess and Queen
