Chapter 318 Ezekiel Vomits Blood in Anger

Brad remained calm and serious.

"I never lie. The real deal is right here with me."

Everyone was stunned!

Brad blinked innocently at Ezekiel.

"I don't get how everything Ezekiel's selling just happens to be in my hands. Could it be... he had his eye on my stuff all along?"

With that, the crowd suddenly understood!

Of course!

Brad would never lie. Who is he? A member of the Eternal Light Cathedral. If anyone lies, it certainly wouldn't be Brad!

Juniper's mouth twitched.

"Brad... is he just making things up?"

Catherine shrugged.

"Brad always believes that as long as everyone thinks he's telling the truth, then he is. His philosophy is that the path of cultivation lies in the heart, not in virtue. He’s always been lenient with himself and strict with others. That's Brad's principle."

"Learned something new. Brad truly is a life coach!"

Juniper was in awe of Brad's philosophy.

Ezekiel was speechless, feeling like his life had taken a bizarre turn!

"Brad, what do you mean by this?"

"I don't understand why you're doing this either. Today, Ms. Windsor invited me to authenticate some artifacts, but it seems there's no need to look any further."

"They're all fakes."

"With such a big setup, I thought there might be something good. Maybe Ezekiel thought they were good, too? That would be quite naive."

With almost every word Brad said, Ezekiel felt like spitting blood.

Everyone exchanged glances!

They didn't come here to buy fakes!

Charles sneered, "Ezekiel, you really went to great lengths to gather everyone here. Not an easy task."

Owen added, "I told you to bring out that bracelet. You could've made some money. Now I have to expose that everything here is fake."

Alexander said calmly, "I remember, auction houses selling fakes have to compensate half of the transaction price, right?"

Ezekiel's fingers trembled!

"Since when was that a rule?"

Alexander replied nonchalantly, "Catherine just suggested it to me, and I thought it was a good idea. So, Ms. Windsor and I decided to implement it. What do you all think?"

Everyone present, being shrewd, and now knowing Ezekiel's items were fakes, was exceptionally angry!

"Since Mr. Howard and Ms. Windsor said so, we have no objections!"

"Support it. This is necessary to clean up the auction industry."

Owen smiled, "The Harrison family supports it too. Everyone knows our family is in this business. If people keep bringing fakes, it's a waste of everyone's time."

With Owen and Alexander speaking up, and the Windsor family strongly supporting it, everyone nodded in agreement, angrily glaring at Ezekiel!

"Pay up!"

Ezekiel saw the smile on Alexander's face and felt a bitter frustration!

Now he understood why Alexander was so generous earlier, raising the prices without hesitation. He had planned this all along!

The compensation alone for Alexander would bankrupt Ezekiel.

Not to mention, Catherine had bought many items. Ezekiel could already foresee his money going into the Howard and Windsor families' pockets!

Were this engaged couple devils?

Teaming up to swindle his money, was that really fair?

Owen calmly asked, "Still selling the bracelet?"

Ezekiel was furious!

But if he sold the bracelet now, he could recoup some losses. If not, he'd lose even more.

Ezekiel gritted his teeth, "Fine, sell it!"

The jade bracelet, originally meant to be the final item, was brought out early and placed on the stage.

"This bracelet is top-notch, my wife's favorite. Today, I'm reluctantly parting with it. Starting bid, ten million dollars!"

Arabella raised an eyebrow, "One million, take it or leave it."

Ezekiel had experienced Arabella's bargaining skills firsthand.

Every time Arabella made an offer, she never cared about Ezekiel's situation!

With her opening bid, everyone knew the bracelet was something the Howard and Harrison families wanted. No one would compete with Arabella.

Everyone cheerfully chimed in.

"Ezekiel, hurry up. Sell it now, and you can recoup some losses. If not, you'll miss the chance."

Arabella said calmly, "Think it over. Even if you leave this room, no one will dare buy this bracelet from you except me."

Ezekiel felt a pain in his gut!

"Fine, fine, one million dollars it is!"

Owen cheerfully stood up and handed Ezekiel a card, "There's exactly one million dollars on this."

Even a fool could see they were working together to swindle Ezekiel!

"You... you're really pushing it too far!"

Alexander stood up, looking at Ezekiel.

"Ezekiel, remember to transfer the compensation to our accounts. My share can go to Catherine. I bought those items for her."

He glanced around, smiling calmly.

"I originally planned to buy some things to please Catherine. Didn't expect the antiques she liked to be fakes. Luckily, Brad has the genuine articles and plans to auction them. The Howard family invites everyone to join us."

"Brad's starting prices will be half of Ezekiel's!"

Brad, looking like a sage, clasped his hands together.

"I'm not in it for the money. These are just worldly possessions. Enjoy yourselves. I'll leave everything to Mr. Howard and Ms. Windsor. Farewell."

With that, he turned and left, exuding an aura of holiness that made people avert their eyes!

Juniper almost died laughing.

Brad didn't spend any money on these items, so of course, he didn't care!

This move left everyone in awe of Brad's transcendence.

The Howard family got free publicity for their new auction, by using Brad's name as a banner, essentially securinga free advertisement.

They didn't even need to send out invitations. The guests present were already invited!

A professional appraisal team glanced at the antiques.

Mercury smiled, "We received a commission from Ryder to report you for selling fakes and damaging Ryder's reputation. We need to file a lawsuit against you!"

Even the jade carvings were fake!

Ezekiel's mouth twitched.

"These jade carvings, I bought them at a high price from Franklin. They can't be fake!"

Mercury produced an electronic contract.

It clearly bore Franklin's signature and seal.

"This contract can be authenticated. We also have a video commission from Ryder. We don't care where you bought the items, but we can tell you responsibly, you were scammed."

"Seems Franklin took you for a fool!"

Ezekiel looked at the seal, then at the flawless jade carvings, unwilling to believe they were fake.

But the seal was indeed genuine. Ryder's seal was unique and impossible to forge!

Ezekiel spat out a mouthful of blood and fainted on the spot!
