Chapter 291 Let Catherine Perform Surgery on Paloma
"Juniper has even met my aunt, but unfortunately, my aunt doesn't recognize her!"
Evander jumped up from the dining table upon hearing Tiberius's words!
In an instant, he felt his head buzzing!
He couldn't even hear what Arabella was saying.
"What did you say? Who are you going to tell?" Evander snapped.
Tiberius knew he had made the right move and calmly said, "My aunt loves me the most. If she knows I'm being bullied, she'll definitely help me!"
Arabella scolded angrily, "Evander, calm down!"
Evander's hands were trembling, and tears flowed uncontrollably. Seeing him like this, Arabella was extremely worried.
Arabella shouted, "Felix! Hang up and stop listening to this little brat's nonsense!"Felix was also too shocked to react for a moment but quickly regained his composure and hung up.
The amount of information was a bit overwhelming for him too!
Not expecting that Paloma was still alive, Felix paced back and forth at home.
Arabella frowned, handed Evander a glass of water, and ordered, "Drink it! Calm down and think about whether Tiberius said it on purpose or if it's true!"
Evander held the glass, his voice trembling. "I'll call Juniper. If she met Paloma, why didn't she tell me?"
Felix turned around, "No need. Juniper is already annoyed with you. If you question her about her mother, she'll only get more annoyed! I'll call Owen directly!"
Owen answered quickly.
On the other end, he was silent for a long time before sighing. "All these years, I've hidden Paloma's existence! She's not in good health and can't handle any stress. I didn't dare tell her about Juniper's identity."
"Owen, are you saying Paloma is indeed still alive?"
Owen let out a bitter laugh. "Yes! The night Paloma came home, she was covered in blood and didn't even remember me!"
Hearing this, Evander, who was about to go find Paloma, stopped in his tracks!
Owen said dejectedly, "Felix, when you're young, you make a lot of mistakes, and you pay for them yourself. I have no complaints! But the kids are innocent!"
Felix gritted his teeth, "How could you bear to let Juniper not recognize her mother?"
"How could I bear it? I couldn't! But should I just watch Paloma die? Owen! When she first came home, she fainted at the mention of Evander's name, ended up in the ICU five times, and I signed countless critical condition notices!"
"I kept her at home and didn't tell you she was alive because I wanted my daughter!"
"Felix, you have kids too. Do you understand me?"
Owen, with tears streaming down his face, sat heavily in the hospital corridor, covering his face.
Felix sighed. "You've had it tough too!"
Owen shook his head, "I didn't know about Juniper. I'm really grateful to the Windsor family, but it has been hard on her!"
Evander now understood why Juniper said what she did.
She had already accepted that her parents didn't love her that much!
It was because Juniper had met her mother and found out her mother didn't recognize her, right? How much pain must Juniper have felt!
Juniper, being overly intelligent, matured early and saw through many things more clearly than anyone else.
A few years ago, after learning she wasn't the Windsor family's biological daughter, Juniper quickly made a decision.
She voluntarily gave up the Windsor family's inheritance, gradually distanced herself from the Windsor family, paved the way for the Windsor family's daughter, and marginalized herself.
Such a sensible Juniper, seeing her mother but unable to call out to her, and having to cooperate with Owen, how heartbroken must she have been!
Evander wiped his face and realized it was wet. "Mr. Harrison, can I see Paloma?"
Owen was silent for a moment, then looked up at Paloma coming out of the examination room.
He sighed, "It's not that I won't let you come, but listen to this!"
Paloma's gaze was as calm as water, looking at Owen as if he were a stranger.
She bent down and gently asked, "Sir, are you feeling unwell?"
Owen seemed used to it.
"Paloma, have you forgotten me again?"
Paloma was surprised, "Should I know you? I'm sorry, I might be a bit forgetful."
"Look at your phone," Owen said.
Paloma opened her phone and found the screensaver was a photo of her and Owen.
As if knowing she would forget, Paloma had recorded a video for herself in advance.
After watching it, Paloma apologized, "Dad, I'm sorry, I forgot you again. Let's go home now."
She pushed Owen's wheelchair, her eyes still a bit confused. Why couldn't she remember anything?
Owen looked at the phone. "Do you understand now? There's something in her brain that acts like an eraser every so often, making her forget everything, including me! I don't let you see her for Paloma's sake!"
Evander understood that Owen, being old, couldn't handle any more turmoil.
He had faced this broken daughter for many years and couldn't bear any more potential damage!
If Evander's presence would stimulate Paloma, Owen would never let him have the chance to see her!
Felix frowned, "Something in her brain? Can it be treated?"
"Mr. Davis said it can only be treated conservatively, but he knows a great surgeon. If that medical genius performs the surgery, the success rate would be higher. But I haven't decided yet!"
Owen was afraid. Paloma's brain tumor was a rare disease, and even the top doctors had only a 30% success rate!
With 30%, he might get a healthy, normal daughter. Or he might lose her forever!
Felix suddenly thought of Catherine's face. Catherine's medical skills were quite good!
As Catherine's patient, Felix knew her skills very well.
If Catherine could perform the surgery for Paloma.
"Owen, I also know a genius who did my heart surgery! Absolutely trustworthy! But whether she would be willing to see Paloma depends on her."
Owen got excited upon hearing this! "Okay, you go find her. We have all the money we need!"
"Money isn't the issue, Owen. Paloma, no matter what, will always be my daughter-in-law!" Felix's words were firm, his eyes moist.
"Hey! It's my fault for Evander! But until Paloma gets better, Evander absolutely cannot see her!"Owen said.
Paloma's gentle voice came from the other end of the phone. "Dad, who is this Evander you're talking about? Should I know him?"
