Chapter 106 Poor Eula
Isabella slid the present into her backpack, sticking her tongue out at Kristina.
Everyone at the table laughed, pointing at Isabella, "Look at her, still such a kid!"
After dinner, Isabella wanted to hit the club, but her mom put her foot down, fearing her grandpa's wrath.
The dinner wound down, and guests filed out.
Isabella was all bubbly, clinging to Eula and chatting away.
Trailing them, Kristina strutted along with her parents—today, she'd gloated triumphantly, having outshone everyone at the gathering for the first time.
She already considered herself Mrs. Nash, with everyone eager to stay on her good side to avoid Judson's wrath with just a cough from her.
Melissa nudged her husband with a sly tone, "Honey, now that Eula's shown her face with the Lowes, maybe we should take her back in."
Maintaining the façade of a loving stepmother was crucial for her.
Fernando Lowe snorted dismissively, "She's no longer one of the Lowes. What's the point of having her back here? Humiliating herself with three kids in tow doesn't bother her, but it sure as hell reflects poorly on us!"
Kristina offered a reassuring smile. "Dad, relax. You still have me. Things are heating up with Judson, and once we're married, I'm certain he'll pull some strings for the family business, making it even stronger."
Hearing this, Fernando broke into a grin. "At least we've got one daughter who makes us proud!"
As they reached the entrance, they all paused, and Isabella’s mother inquired, "Eula, did you drive here? If not, my driver can give you a lift. We're all going with your father."
Today was her daughter's birthday, and times had been tough for Eula, according to what Isabella had heard. Living in the run-down parts of the old town, the kind slated for demolition, with trash and stray dogs littering the streets—a stark contrast to her past.
Eula reminisced about her privileged upbringing. Although she had lost her mother, her grandfather had doted on her. As the Lowe family's darling, she had been given the best of everything, carefully tended to and indulged by all.
Isabella reached out and tugged at her hand, offering, "Sis, let our driver take you home."
Eula glanced at her phone, "No need, I've got an Uber on the way. It'll be here any minute."
"But it's really late for an Uber, Eula. It's not safe. I'll drive you," Kristina interjected.
Just then, a Maybach Exelero pulled up beside Eula. She recognized it as Judson's and her brow furrowed slightly at his showy choice. It was a unique vehicle, worth eight million dollars, and Eula, knowing her cars, was familiar with its hefty price tag.
She had just mentioned her Uber and quietly massaged her forehead.
"Isabella, there's my ride. Catch you later!" Eula hurried away, not wanting to make a scene with the impressive vehicle awaiting her.
The sight of the Exelero had already captured everyone's attention, and now that it was supposedly her rideshare, it caused a stir. Isabella squealed in delight, "Oh my gosh, my first time seeing a Maybach Exelero! It's absolutely stunning."
Envy flashed in Fernando Lowe and his brothers' eyes. A car like that was the stuff of their dreams.
