Chapter 93 Mrs. Nash
Judson had just woken up, not having had the chance to check out the news. "Just spit it out," he snapped, impatient.
Myles hesitated, then spoke with concern. "Yesterday, at the airport, I managed to prevent those snaps Kristina took of you two from hitting the news. But late last night, photos of you holding Angie and embracing Eula leaked online, and now they're all the buzz."
Judson hadn't dealt with it on time since it was so late and everyone was asleep.
Once those photos hit the web, they caused an uproar, trending on Twitter instantly.
By the morning, it was too late; the images were shared far and wide, impossible to scrub clean.
"Got it," Judson said curtly and hung up. He began scrolling through the entertainment news and there they were – pictures of him leaving the hospital with Angie in his arms and Eula at his side.
The photo was sharp, and he actually liked it; they looked like one big happy family.
"#JudsonSpottedLateNight leaving hospital, girl in arms spitting image – Is she his daughter? Trio exuding happiness!#"
The news was plastered with those shots, and he idly read the comments.
"Did Judson get hitched? The lady's gorgeous, and the kid's a cutie! Wishing them happiness!"
"Is that Judson's daughter? They look so alike!"
"Just one look at the girl, and you know Judson's the dad. They're the spitting image of each other."
Judson smirked as he read on. Which part of Angie looked anything like him, according to these netizens?
With a faint smile acknowledging the unpredictable nature of news, he watched Eula driving carefully. An hour later, they finally arrived at the office. After parking, they entered the elevator together and stepped out into the executive suite.
The employees looked up, nodding in acknowledgment.
It all made sense now why the CEO had suddenly brought in a personal secretary. She was his wife, and they even had a child together.
The staff couldn't help but cast envious glances at Eula, oblivious to their online fame as a purported family unit.
Seeing everyone's gaze on them, Eula could only raise her hand and wave.
"Morning, everyone!" she greeted.
In response, the staff stood, "Morning, Judson! Morning, Mrs. Nash!"
Judson's lips curled slightly – they had taken the news at face value.
Eula, on the other hand, was utterly confused. Mrs. Nash? Where?
She glanced over her shoulder, expecting to see Mrs. Nash but seeing no one, she still hadn't quite processed the situation.
Shaking off the confusion, she decided to focus on work, heading into the CEO's office. After setting her bag down, she made her way to the breakroom to brew a cup of coffee for Judson.
Intending to ensure he had something in his stomach before his meeting, she found some pastries in the fridge and picked out his preferred flavor, balancing the coffee and the treat as she returned to his office.
"Judson, have a bite before you dive in," she offered.
There were still over ten minutes left until half-past ten—just enough time to stave off his hunger.
Judson was preoccupied with the documents for the upcoming meeting, but he glanced at the coffee and pastry, taking a sip of the hot beverage.
Eula sat at her desk, watching him. She wanted to urge him to eat his pastry first to avoid upsetting his stomach, but she hesitated, too apprehensive to voice her concern.
Just then, Judson's phone rang, and he answered it.
"Grandma, what's up?"
It was unusual for Grandma to call at this hour.
"Judson, your grandfather saw the news today and has been obsessively pointing at the TV, quite worked up. Maybe you could come and explain things to him. He won't take my word for it."
