Chapter 339 Don't Tell Her
Shirley's voice cut through the air, and Eula glanced over. Geoffrey got up from the ground, fumbling around. "All of you, scram. I got this."
Eula's heart twinged. Yep, Geoffrey's temper was getting worse now that he couldn't see.
She hung up and dashed to him, grabbing his hand. "Geoffrey, where you headed? Lemme help."
Six years ago, she was in a dark place too. If it weren't for Geoffrey's constant pep talks and support, she wouldn't have made it through giving birth to her three kids, let alone built her current life.
She might've died that morning, feeling hopeless and lost, just like Geoffrey now.
Seeing no light at the end of the tunnel, feeling like her heart was dead.
Geoffrey heard her voice and frowned, a dark look crossing his handsome face. "Eula, why are you still here?"
Shirley cried and snapped, "Geoffrey, since your accident, you've been refusing anyone's help. You're all banged up. I'm your mom; what's there to be embarrassed about?"
Eula realized he was heading to the bathroom.
No wonder he didn't want anyone tagging along. If it were her, she might not want help either.
Eula patiently supported him, even though he struggled and wanted her to leave. She just wouldn't budge, gripping his arm tight.
"Watch out, we're almost at the door. I'll open it, and you can go in." Eula let go and quickly pushed open the bathroom door.
When she got back to his side, he shoved her hand away. "No need, I got it."
Then he took a big step and smacked his head on the door frame, letting out a small yelp.
Eula quickly caught up. "Don't worry, I'll help you in, then I'll leave. I won't peek."
Her voice was so gentle, it was hard for Geoffrey to stay mad. His frown deepened.
He had no choice but to let her help him in. Eula glanced at the toilet. "I'll wait outside. Holler when you're done."
Eula stepped out and stood by the door, ready to jump in if needed.
After crying, Shirley had calmed down.
For the past half month, she'd been like this every day, heartbroken for Geoffrey but helpless.
Looking at Eula standing by the bathroom door, she gritted her teeth. "Eula, don't think that by doing this, I'll forgive you. Even if Geoffrey's blind, you're still not good enough for him. You'll never marry into the Hopkins family."
Eula had heard this a million times.
She played along. "Yeah, I know I'm not good enough for him. Never thought about being with him. Don't worry, Shirley. I hope he gets better."
Shirley was so mad she could grind her teeth. Eula always seemed so weak and easy to push around.
But her sharp tongue always left Shirley speechless and fuming.
In Judson's ward, Hugo sat on the couch, the other doctors already gone.
He was waiting for Eula to come back before he left.
Judson had started working again, with a small table set up, a computer on it, and papers all over the bed. It looked exhausting.
Hugo crossed his legs and looked at him. "Judson, aren't you gonna tell Eula about the bullet still in your head?"
The position of that bullet was really dangerous. As long as it wasn't removed, it was a ticking time bomb.
But taking it out was also super tricky. If the technique wasn't spot-on, he might not make it through the surgery.
Didn't be fooled by how he looked fine now; it was actually really dangerous. How long he could live depended on that bullet.
If it decided to let Judson live, it wouldn't move or would move to a safe spot, and he could survive.
