Chapter 344 No Crazy Stuff
Shirley chimed in, "I don't want you talking to him either. If he wasn't so stubborn about not letting anyone else help, I wouldn't have come to you."
Eula caught the vibe, a flicker of something dark in her eyes. "Alright, got it. I'll check on him later."
She hung up just as the doctors were wrapping things up and stepping out.
Eula hustled into the room. Judson was laid out on the bed, looking pale but way more relaxed, not in as much pain.
Hugo, rocking a white coat, adjusted his frameless glasses with those long, clean fingers of his. Tall, lean, and looking sharp in his doctor getup, he exuded an air of confidence and competence.
Eula tiptoed to the bedside, too scared to touch Judson in case he was still hurting.
Hugo shot her a glance and smirked. "Eula, look at you, sticking by Judson."
Eula turned, playing dumb. "Hugo, is he gonna be okay?" she asked, cheeks turning red, still worried sick.
Hugo looked at Judson, who was already out cold. The painkillers had kicked in, and he'd be better after some sleep.
"He's good, but no heavy lifting or crazy stuff for three months, got it?" Hugo usually joked around, but this time he was dead serious, which freaked Eula out, making her realize how bad it was.
She nodded. "I won't let him."
Hugo stuffed his hands in his pockets, a glint in his eye as he looked at Judson, hoping he'd hang in there until he got his skills down.
"Eula, take care of Judson. I gotta bounce."
Eula nodded. "Sure, I'll keep an eye on him. You go ahead!"
She'd always been scared of doctors but also kinda admired them.
After Hugo left, Eula sat by the bed, holding Judson's hand, looking at him with all the feels. "Judson, I'm so glad you're okay."
She grabbed a towel, wiped the sweat off his forehead, and tucked him in.
She also tidied up his stuff, making the room look way better.
Just then, Myles and Winnien showed up with fruit and food containers. They'd been bringing meals for the past couple of weeks.
Myles saw Judson was asleep and whispered, "Ms. Lowe, you should eat first. Mr. Nash's food is in the container; he can have it when he wakes up."
Seeing the food, Eula thought of Geoffrey. He was in a bad mood and probably not eating right.
Even Shirley couldn't handle him, which was why she called Eula.
She got up, glanced at Judson. He'd be out for another couple of hours.
Eula said, "Myles, you guys hang out and keep an eye on him. I gotta go."
Myles nodded, "Sure thing!"
Winnien had already set out the food and said, "Ms. Lowe, eat something before you go. It'll get cold."
Eula didn't have time. She walked out, saying, "I'll skip it."
She left Judson's room and headed to the 13th floor, where Geoffrey was. Walking in, she saw the maid cleaning up food scraps.
He must've thrown a fit and trashed the place.
Shirley was wiping her tears. "Geoffrey, just eat a little. You've lost so much weight."
Geoffrey sat on the bed, staring out the window, ignoring Shirley.
The maid saw Eula and called out, "Ms. Lowe."
Shirley looked over, wiping her tears, like she'd just seen a lifeline.
