Chapter 336 I Don't Want Him Dead

"Judson!" Eula burst into tears, scared outta her mind he might not make it.

If he hadn't jumped in to save her, he wouldn't be hurt right now.

She blamed herself for being such a klutz. She got less nimble because of the shot in her leg.

Judson drifted back into unconsciousness. The ambulance showed up fast and whisked him off to the nearest hospital, one owned by the Pitts family.

They rushed him into surgery. Hugo, in his white coat, came over quickly.

Seeing Eula bawling her eyes out, he glanced at her leg.

He scooped her up. "Judson's surgery's gonna take over two hours. Let's get your leg patched up first."

Hearing his voice, Eula slowly looked up.

"Hugo, Judson... he's not gonna die, right? I can't lose him," she screamed, clutching his collar like a lifeline.

Hugo frowned a bit. "He'll be fine. We've got the best neurosurgeon here. Don't stress. But we gotta take care of your leg too."

Judson was tough; Hugo was sure he'd pull through.

But if Eula's leg got messed up, he'd have to deal with that fallout.

Eula calmed down a bit but then started up again. "Is he really gonna be okay? It's all my fault. I get so clumsy when I panic, unable to defend myself. It's all my fault."

She sobbed, heart-wrenching cries.

Hugo was at a loss. She needed some serious rest, or she'd have a breakdown.

They took Eula to a small operating room. After laying her down, they gave her an anesthetic, and she quickly knocked out.

They had to remove the bullet, so it was better she was out cold.

When Eula woke up, three hours had passed. She shot up in bed.

Darcy rushed over. "Eula, you okay?"

Darcy's eyes were red from crying. She was freaked out seeing Eula like this.

Eula's eyes focused. She looked around, realizing it was all real. They'd been ambushed, and Judson was hurt. "Where's Judson? Where is he?"

Seeing her panic, Darcy knew she was worried. Elbert had told her Judson got hurt protecting her.

Darcy said, "Eula, it's okay. He's resting in the next room. He won't wake up till tomorrow."

Eula tried to get out of bed, but her leg hurt, making her gasp.

Darcy helped her. "Take it easy. You can go over in a wheelchair."

Darcy called a nurse, and they got Eula into a wheelchair and wheeled her to the next room.

Hugo hadn't told Eula's family; the kids would freak out.

He also didn't tell Judson's family.

In the room, Wade was keeping watch. Wade was Judson's head bodyguard, his most loyal guy.

Seeing them come in, he stood up and nodded at Eula. "Ms. Lowe."

Judson's crew all knew Eula. They knew she was special to him and had to protect her.

But this Christmas, everyone was on break, and no one was with Judson.

With his skills, he should've been fine. He'd dodged assassination attempts before, even when outnumbered.

This time, they were caught off guard.

Wade regretted not staying with Judson.

Eula's eyes were swollen. She nodded slightly, her gaze locked on the bed.

The sight scared her. He was hooked up to an oxygen mask, surrounded by machines, his head wrapped in bandages, eyes shut tight.

She pressed the remote, moving the wheelchair closer to the bed. She reached out and held his hand, which had a device clipped to his finger.
