Chapter 360 Repaying Kindness and Settling Debts

Eula's hands froze for a sec while she was scrubbing the fruit, a flicker of something dark in her eyes. Shirley was always on her case.

She looked up. "Shirley, didn't you say it's time for me to pay him back? No need to throw money at me."

With that, she turned, grabbed a fruit knife, and started peeling and slicing the fruit.

Shirley trailed her, watching her work like it was nothing. Yeah, Eula had a rough life.

Unlike her, who never lifted a finger for housework. Her daughter-in-law had to be some rich, pampered lady. She couldn't stand someone who was used to serving others.

"You gotta take it," Shirley insisted.

Otherwise, Geoffrey would think Eula was taking care of him out of love, making it even harder for him to move on.

Eula sighed, "Alright!"

She'd known Shirley for years and knew her well. If she didn't agree, Shirley would just keep bugging her.

Shirley smirked. "Cut more, I skipped dinner tonight, I'll munch on some fruit."

She then headed into the ward. Eula watched her go.

She shook her head. Being bossed around like this sucked. If it weren't for Geoffrey, she'd have bailed ages ago.

But she promised Geoffrey she'd look after him. Even without the promise, she'd still do it.

Looked like until Geoffrey got better, she'd have to deal with Shirley every day.

Especially now that she took her money, Shirley would treat her even more like a servant.

Eula carried the fruit into the ward. Shirley was sitting by Geoffrey's bed, chatting away.

When she saw Eula come in, she clammed up.

Geoffrey asked, "Eula, that you?"

He could tell by her footsteps, and since Shirley stopped talking, he figured it was her.

Eula set the fruit plate in front of him. "Fruit's ready."

Shirley picked a piece and held it to Geoffrey's mouth. "Geoffrey, have some fruit."

Eula was about to say she was leaving when Shirley piped up, "Eula, tidy up the ward. It's a mess."

Shirley liked things clean. Compared to her place, this ward was a dump. Now that she had someone to boss around, she'd make the most of it.

Plus, Eula was more interesting than the servants. Maybe she'd be the future Mrs. Nash.

Bossing around Mrs. Nash would give her more clout in social circles.

Eula nodded. "Okay!"

Then she started tidying up. Time to pay her dues; she'd do whatever it took. This was her debt to Geoffrey.

Geoffrey's face went cold, and he called out, "Eula, sit down and rest. Don't move."

Shirley heard this, shot Geoffrey a look, and then laughed. "Geoffrey, I was just kidding. If you can't stomach seeing her do that, then forget it."

Geoffrey said coldly, "Mom, Eula is the person I love the most. From now on, none of you are allowed to bully her. You don't need to come to the hospital anymore."

Shirley was stunned, glaring daggers at Eula.

Eula frowned slightly. 'Why does Geoffrey say that? The more he says stuff like this, the harder my life gets.'

But there was no point in stressing. He couldn't tale back what he had said. She just hoped Shirley wouldn't take it too seriously and wouldn't take it out on her.

"Geoffrey, you're suffering. How can I not come to the hospital? I won't bully her anymore, okay?" She said, wiping away a tear, feeling deeply hurt.

She thought, 'Geoffrey has someone he likes now, and it seems he no longer needs me. It's all that damn Eula's fault.'
