Chapter 136 Judson's Child
Lily chuckled, "Kristina, you have one wicked tongue, but you're sharp-eyed too. My cousin just had twins, and trust me, her belly is a sight for sore eyes. Eula's had triplets, so you can imagine her belly."
Frowning, Kristina gazed at Ethan Scott, who was by Eula’s side, a surge of irritation within her. The kid used to hover around Eula, and though she had chased after him, he never gave her the time of day.
Now, with her fiancé Judson on her arm, Ethan was instantly sidelined.
This thought made Kristina rather smug. She got up, left her pool, and joined Eula's. A sly smile on her lips, she positioned herself between Ethan and Eula.
Turning to Ethan, she teased, "Ethan, you used to just dine and dash at these gatherings. What's got you interested in joining the hot springs this time?"
She raised an eyebrow at him, feeling like Ethan always inquired about Eula, which annoyed her more than it seemed to bother him.
Ethan, irked by the intruding woman, responded coolly, "That's my business, none of yours."
Kristina, stung by his rebuff, fell silent, her expression souring.
"You're just pining over my sister, aren't you? But I hate to burst your bubble, she's a mom to three kids now. You aiming to be a step-dad? You'd have to check with her sugar-daddy first."
Ethan's expression darkened as he shoved her away.
Kristina lost her balance and plunged headfirst into the bushes, coughing as she abruptly stood back up.
"Ethan, are you trying to kill me? Cough cough…"
Ethan sidled closer to Eula. "Eula, I won't believe any of those rumors."
Eula's face clouded over as she glanced at Ethan.
She seemed to have something to say but felt utterly powerless. She adored her three children; they were her most precious treasures. But the origin of the children was something she couldn't explain.
Nowadays, as soon as people heard she was a single mother, the gossip would start flying. She had grown accustomed to it.
But she never wanted her children to be the subject of gossip or to be affected by it in the slightest.
She clamped her mouth shut, vowing to never speak of it.
Seeing Eula too scared to speak, Kristina let out a mirthless laugh.
"Eula, you sure know how to play the martyr, don't you? Or don't you love your kids enough?"
After saying that, Kristina sneered. "But I guess I feel sorry for you. Cut off from your family, with nothing but three kids to your name. Although, that old man's pension must be quite hefty, right? At least it's enough to keep you and the kids afloat."
The people around them listened to these words and looked at Eula with increasingly heavy gazes.
Someone whispered, "I heard about it back in the day; Eula got pregnant during her senior year of high school and had to drop out."
"Having kids that young? Tsk tsk, talk about living wildly."
Eula's face turned grim upon hearing these comments; she should have never come.
Did Kristina, that wretch, think that since Eula didn't die from their antics years ago, she could just harass her to death with these tactics?
No longer the naive girl she once was, Eula cooled down and struck back.
Her lips curled coldly. Kristina, you've brought this on yourself.
She raised her voice and declared, "Yes, I gave birth to triplets, and they are Judson's children."
Kristina panicked at this revelation.
"You're lying! Just because I called you out, you spew this nonsense?"
Just then, a handsome man in a gray robe, a cigarette dangling between his fingers, walked over to the pool's edge and spoke in an indifferent tone.
"Eula, I can hear the kids crying from here. Maybe you should go see what's wrong?"
