Chapter 301 Eyes Full of Admiration
Jessica caught sight of Eula's flushed cheeks; she had just seen Judson about to plant one on Eula.
Talk about bad timing. If they had shown up a bit later, they wouldn't have crashed their moment.
Jessica grabbed Eula's hand and squeezed it, grinning.
"Eula, girl, it's been ages since you visited. I missed ya."
Eula led her over to the couch area. Sandra was there, flashing her usual sweet smile.
"Sandra."
Eula gave a slight nod. Sandra always had that innocent, cute smile!
"Mrs. Nash, Sandra, let me whip up some coffee for you."
She knew Jessica was a coffee fiend and headed towards the door.
Judson was at his desk, juggling a phone call and signing some papers. Once he was done, he strolled over to Jessica.
He glanced at the desserts on the table; not his thing.
Judson plopped down next to Jessica, slinging an arm around her shoulder.
"Grandma, what brings you to the office today?"
Sandra gave him a slight smile, "Judson, I took Mrs. Nash shopping, and we picked up a strawberry cake, so I brought it for your afternoon snack."
Judson shot Sandra a quick look, his tone cool.
"Sandra, haven't you started working yet?"
The message was clear: Sandra had too much free time on her hands.
Jessica, being sharp, caught on but just smiled at the handsome Judson and adjusted his tie.
"You haven't been home lately. Have you forgotten about me now that you have a girlfriend?"
Sandra didn't take it personally; she knew Judson's style. He was blunt and didn't sugarcoat things.
It was exactly that no-nonsense attitude that she liked about him.
"Since it's almost New Year's, I'll start working after the holidays."
Actually, Sandra was heading back to the Pitts Group, her family's business, so she could start whenever she wanted.
Judson didn't push it further but checked the time.
"Grandma, I've got another meeting soon, so I can't hang out. How's Grandpa doing?"
Jessica knew Judson always worried about Robert's health. His feelings for them were clear, and he was a devoted grandson.
The drama with Judson's parents had always weighed on him, so he never brought them up. He had grown up with her and Robert, forming a tight bond.
Robert had been in a coma for six years, and during those years, Judson would visit him whenever he could.
He'd chat with Robert and sometimes crash in the hospital room, taking care of him.
Jessica smiled, "He's still the same, but more like a kid now. He often points at your childhood photos, probably missing you. Honestly, I can't make out what he's saying."
Judson nodded slightly, "I'll go see him tomorrow."
Then Judson got up and headed back to his desk.
He had another meeting to get to. Thinking about Robert pointing at his childhood photos, and remembering his behavior before he got sick,, Judson felt Robert was hinting at him to have kids.
The Nash family was down to just his line, so Robert had always been worried about the family dying out. He had been pushing Judson to get married and have kids for years.
Judson felt that those nights six years ago were all part of Robert's plan.
But the truths and lies from six years ago didn't matter anymore; He only cared about the present and Eula, who reminded him of the woman from six years ago, but in a way that felt more real and true..
Eula came in with the tea, and Judson held the door open for her. She looked up and smiled at him.
"Mr. Nash, here's your coffee. Take it with you to the meeting room!"
