Chapter 33 Startled by Her
Eula Lowe opened her eyes and saw that the needle was stuck in his hand.
She was frightened and let go. She stabbed the cat's buttocks how did it end up in his hand?
Oh my God! What should she do?
Hugo Pitts removed the needle and asked, "What did you give it?"
Eula Lowe panicked, her lips trembling, and her voice became very low.
"An... aphrodisiac..."
After saying that, she saw Hugo Pitts' face turn pale and surprise in his eyes.
"What did you say? For animals?"
He had never encountered such a thing before. If it were a normal situation, he would just take some medication.
But for animals, what should he take?
Soon, he felt that something was wrong. His eyes turned red, and his whole body started to feel hot.
Eula Lowe was at a loss and went to find May. May was also frightened when she heard about it.
"Call an ambulance and take him to the hospital."
Eula Lowe entered the breeding room and saw Hugo Pitts' appearance. He was covered in sweat, and his gaze at her was strange.
"Hugo, hold on for a while, the ambulance will be here soon."
Hugo Pitts frowned, feeling uncomfortable but trying to restrain it.
In his heart, he silently thought that he needed to stay away from this woman in the future. He had only seen her twice, but both times she almost killed him.
In the hospital, Eula Lowe waited outside the emergency room, feeling scared.
She just received a call. She got fired, and she had to bear all the medical expenses for Hugo Pitts.
Eula Lowe held tightly, feeling utterly foolish. She had lost a job with such a high salary on the very first day. She had hoped to at least last a full month!
Now she had to start searching for a new job again, but more importantly, she hoped Hugo Pitts was okay. If something happened to him...his family would never forgive her, and she would feel guilty.
The elevator doors opened and two tall men stepped out.
Judson Nash led the way, dressed in a black overcoat, a white shirt, and a navy blue tie. It was clear he had hurried from the company.
The man following behind him had a darker complexion and shorter hair, dressed in black casual attire. He was Elbert Hicks.
When Eula Lowe turned her head to look at the two men, tears welled up in her eyes.
Judson Nash felt pity for her from the moment he saw her. She had such a sorrowful expression.
He walked towards her with long strides and pulled her into his embrace, gently stroking her back.
"Don't be afraid, he won't die."
It was just a small dose of animal medicine. That guy was immune to everything.
Elbert Hicks glanced at the time. "How long has it been since we entered?"
Eula Lowe didn't care who was holding her at this point. All she needed was a warm embrace to comfort her.
"It's been over an hour. I don't know what's happening..."
Her voice trembled as she spoke, frightened.
About ten minutes later, the doors of the emergency room opened, and a doctor walked out.
The three approached, with Eula Lowe speaking first.
"Doctor, how is he?"
"I'm sorry, we did our best."
Then they saw a person covered in a white sheet being wheeled out, and Eula Lowe froze.
Was he dead? How could he have died so?
Indeed, medications should never be used haphazardly, animal medicine.
Eula Lowe believed that this time, she was finished. She had endangered someone's life and gotten into a big mess.
Her vision blurred, and she fainted. Judson Nash caught her and called out her name.
"Eula Lowe."
Several people nearby began to cry and followed as the bed was pushed towards the elevator.
Judson Nash glanced at the frightened woman in his arms and spoke.
"Hugo Pitts, come out."
Look at what state he had frightened Eula Lowe into.
Hugo Pitts swaggered out, raising an eyebrow as he glanced at the woman in Judson Nash's arms.
"She made me so uncomfortable, so I scared her a bit. I didn't expect her to be so frightened."
Elbert Hicks swung a punch, hitting him.
"Kay, how does it feel to be drugged? You should do the same to your beloved bird, Popo."
Hugo Pitts became furious, his face darkening, and he threw a punch at Elbert Hicks.
Elbert Hicks ran away, saying, "Kay, I was just kidding, don't be mad."
Hugo Pitts chased after him and landed a few blows before feeling relieved. They then waited together by the elevator door.
Judson Nash walked towards the elevator holding Eula Lowe, his expression cool. Hugo Pitts bit his lip, knowing better than to provoke Judson.
After all, Judson had invested in his laboratory, and if he withdrew his support, Hugo would be in trouble.
So, he humbly made way and said, "Judson, I just wanted to scare her."
Judson Nash glanced at him and said, "Get lost..."
He then stepped into the elevator with Eula, and neither of them dared to follow. Elbert Hicks glanced at Hugo.
"Now I believe what you said."
Hugo Pitts laughed, "I told you, little Eula is the embodiment of bad luck. Anyone who crosses her path will suffer."
"It seems like she only affects you."
Hugo Pitts sighed, "Believe it or not, it does seem like she only affects me. You and Judson are both fine."
When Eula Lowe woke up, she found in a car. She sat up abruptly and looked around.
"Was I dreaming just now?"
She slapped her face, hoping it was just a dream.
But when she saw the handsome and cold man beside her, she knew it wasn't a dream.
Her face fell, and she let out a sigh.
"Judson Nash, is Hugo Pitts dead? Are you taking me to the police station? Can you please take care of my three children for me?"
As she spoke, she reached out and shook his arm.
"When I get out, I'll cook for you for the rest of my life and clean the house forever."
Judson Nash glanced at her nonchalantly and said, "That's a good idea."
Eula Lowe leaned back in her seat, drained of energy, waiting for her final judgment.
When the car stopped, she realized they were not at the police station, but at her doorstep.
Her eyes lit up briefly, then dimmed again.
"Am I allowed to see my family one last time?"
How would she explain to her three precious children later? If they knew, they would be heartbroken.
She felt sorry for them. She had given them life, but she couldn't give them a father or companionship. She had failed them miserably.
Tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.
Judson Nash furrowed his brows. "Eula Lowe, you have a vivid imagination. Hugo Pitts is not dead."
Eula Lowe wiped away her tears and said, "You don't have to comfort me. Murderers must pay the price, and I understand that. I'm not afraid."
Not afraid? Despite being so scared, she still claimed not to be afraid. She was stubborn.
After saying that, she stopped crying and forced back her tears, even though she still felt deeply hurt.
Judson Nash had never seen such a crying woman before, and it made his heart ache.
His slender and clean fingers held her chin, his lips close to hers. If she moved even a little, their lips would touch, which made her too scared to even breathe.
"Eula Lowe, Hugo Pitts isn't dead. He scared you," he said.
Afterwards, he took out his phone and dialed Hugo Pitts' number, and he answered.
"Judson, miss me?" The guy's provocative voice could be heard, and Eula Lowe could hear it too.
Her eyes brightened. "Hugo, you're not dead? That's great, great."
Hugo Pitts realized that Judson was just soothing his woman.
"Little Eula, you gave me a hard time today. You scared me so much I was as hard as a rock. Scaring you brings us back to even."
Eula Lowe didn't understand. "A rock? Did that medicine make your whole body stiff?"
Judson Nash narrowed his eyes and a dangerous smile appeared at the corner of his mouth when he looked at her.
Hugo Pitts paused for a moment. "Uh, no. But Eula, you're so innocent, aren't you? You don't understand this?"
After saying that, he laughed. "Judson, it seems like you have to train her properly."
Judson Nash also felt a bit surprised. Didn't this girl give birth to three children? She should know from her experiences, right?
Was she pretending?
"Hang up, and don't scare her again in the future."
One man said, then hung up the phone.
"Did you believe him?"
Eula Lowe relaxed. "Luckily no one got hurt, otherwise..."
She would never dare to do it again. No matter how high her salary was, she had to stay within her own abilities.
Eula Lowe glanced at the door of her home and politely said, "Judson Nash, do you want to come in and sit for a while?"
She thought he wouldn't go, she was just being polite.
She was about to push the door and get out of the car, but Judson Nash responded, "Sure, I'm hungry."
It was past dinnertime.
Eula Lowe's eyes showed surprise, he wasn't being polite.
However, he did help her today, so it was fine to treat him to a meal.
Judson Nash got out of the car and followed her into the small courtyard.
Three children ran out. "Eula..."
Angie pounced into her arms. "Is it your first day at work today? Are you tired?"
The little girl looked concerned, and her two sons behind her were also waiting for her answer.
Eula Lowe forced a smile. "I had a smooth day at work and I'm not tired. Let's go inside, it's cold outside."
No matter how much suffering she endured outside.
When she returned home, she discarded everything that was not good and shared only the good news without worrying.
Judson Nash saw how she was with the children and it was as if she had transformed into a different person, becoming more mature and stable.
Perhaps this is what motherly love is!
"Hey handsome uncle, you're here." She then glanced at her mother, realizing that she had gone on a date with the handsome uncle, which is why she returned so late.
The few of them entered the house and Eula Lowe poured a glass of warm water for Judson Nash. "Judson Nash, please have a seat, dinner will be ready soon."
She went into the kitchen and asked Aunt Mary to stir up a few more dishes. That lady sure has a quick tongue.
Then she went upstairs to take a bath. Today, she had been so scared that she felt like she was going to stink.
In the living room, Judson Nash glanced at the glass of water - a white porcelain cup. Not far from the water dispenser, there were four cups, each with a photo on it.
They were divided according to the children.
Dewitt and Rodolfo exchanged a glance, went inside, and brought out a bottle of alcohol, pouring it into a chilled water bottle.
They knew that a man's true self would only show after drinking, so they had to pass this test in order to become their father.
