Chapter 249 I Have Been Waiting for You All Along

Judson stood beside her, his expression cold.

Eula raised an eyebrow and glanced at her watch. "Mr. Nash, we have a full hour until the office comes to life."

Eula was angry, very angry, that Judson had prioritized his romantic interests over their friendship. They had agreed to have a meal together, but he didn't wait for her.

Sandra waved at her. "Eula, are you and Geoffrey friends? You seem to have a good relationship."

As she said this, Sandra smiled at Geoffrey.

Geoffrey replied bluntly, "Sandra, you have a keen eye. I'm pursuing Eula."

Sandra's eyes bulged in mild astonishment. "Wow, Geoffrey, you have good taste. Eula is both beautiful and capable; she'll make a great wife someday."

With that, Sandra linked her arm with Judson's. "Judson, let's go!"

Judson's face darkened as he cast a glance at Eula, who rolled her eyes at him.

Anyway, Eula was angry today and didn't want to talk with Judson.

Judson and Sandra left. Meanwhile, Eula finished her meal, put down her utensils, followed by a sip of water.

Geoffrey smiled and said, "The Pitts family and the Nash family have a good relationship, especially Donna and Jessica. They probably have thoughts of a marriage alliance."

Eula had been Judson's secretary for so long, but only recently did she realize how little she knew about him.

The Judson she had seen before was just the tip of the iceberg.

"Yes, I've heard about it too." Eula suddenly felt that there was a reason Jessica had taken her to the socialite tea party yesterday.

Geoffrey's gaze suddenly fixed on Eula's neck, where the necklace, the "Tears of the Stars" from the auction, was visible.

He had been bidding for it, intending to give it to Eula, but he hadn't expected her to be wearing it.

Noticing Geoffrey staring at her neck, Eula looked down and saw her necklace had slipped out. She tucked it back into her clothes and smiled faintly. "This is a fake. I just picked it up on a whim."

Geoffrey had also attended the auction that day, so he must have recognized the necklace.

Geoffrey was smart; he already knew who had bought the necklace. Losing to Judson wasn't too much of a failure.

However, his gaze deepened slightly as he reached out and held Eula's hand. "Eula, ever since I met you six years ago, no one else has been able to occupy my heart. I have been waiting for you all along."

Eula looked at Geoffrey holding her hand and tried to pull it back, but he held on too tightly.

"Eula, would you consider giving me a chance, please?" Geoffrey's eyes were sincere, with a tinge of sadness.

All these years, Geoffrey had been waiting for Eula. He used to think that as long as he stayed by her side, she would eventually be his.

But recently, with Judson's emergence, Geoffrey felt a sense of crisis.

It turned out that just standing still didn't mean Eula would be his.

So Geoffrey panicked; he was afraid she would be taken away by someone else.

Eula was indeed moved by his words. Geoffrey was handsome, of good character, and young with a promising future.

Any woman would fall for him; he was the epitome of a suitable match.

But she couldn't. She nodded slightly. "Yes, I will consider it."

With that, Eula quickly withdrew her hand. "I should get to work."

Geoffrey stood up. "I'll walk you to your office building."

Geoffrey paid the bill, and the two walked side by side out of the restaurant, reaching the intersection and waiting for the light to change.

When the light turned green, Eula stepped forward, and Geoffrey took her hand, leading her across the street.

Eula glanced at their intertwined hands. His hand was warm and large, completely enveloping hers.

She had to admit, the warmth of Geoffrey's grasp was comforting, a solace.

A faint smile crossed her face. In truth, Geoffrey was the last person she wanted to hurt, so she couldn't reject him outright.

She needed to find a way to make him give up on her without hurting him.
