Chapter 41 Afraid You'll Run Away
"That's good then. Try to hurry them a bit and get the surgery done as soon as possible."
Eula smiled. Darcy finally had hope. There was hope in their lives now.
Judson came down the stairs, hearing her joyful laughter. His steps were light, quietly descending without disturbing her.
Then he heard her talking about finding a job and saw her video from yesterday.
This girl was actually working at a pet store, wearing a veterinary uniform. It was completely unsuitable for her.
Losing that job was probably a good thing in the long run.
Eula felt a burning gaze on her back and glanced back, only to find Judson standing there, looking at her.
"Darcy, can we talk later? I have something to do. I'll come visit you in a few days."
She hung up the phone and walked towards him.
"Breakfast is ready. You can start eating."
She walked ahead, leading him out of the lounge and into the kitchen.
Their dining table was placed in the kitchen, reminiscent of the old days when the kitchen and dining room were the same room. The other room on the other side was where Mary lived.
Judson looked at the yellow leaves on the courtyard and involuntarily glanced at the tree.
Eula said, "That is a pear tree. It is filled with sweet and crisp pears in the autumn season."
Judson usually didn't like eating pears, but after hearing her words, he had a sudden desire to taste the ones here.
He followed her into the kitchen. It was an old-fashioned kitchen with a marble tabletop that was clean and reflective enough to show one's shadow.
He sat down, and Eula scooped out some soup and placed it in front of him. Then she opened a white cover, revealing some refreshing-looking dishes on the table.
"Judson, our breakfasts are always casual. I hope you don't mind it."
She sat across from him, sipping the soup with small sips, occasionally picking up some salad to feed herself.
Judson found watching her eat to be a pleasure and suddenly felt that this simple soup and side dishes were delicious too.
After finishing breakfast, Judson was about to leave. He checked the time and handed her a business card.
"Our company is hiring. If you're looking for a job, give him a call and say I recommended you."
Eula's eyes widened slightly. The Nash Group. Even people with degrees from top universities couldn't get in easily. Could she?
"Judson, I only have a high school education."
This was her disadvantage, making it difficult for her to find work all these years.
Judson listened to her comment and smiled.
He nodded slightly to signify his understanding.
"I am recommending you, and they dare not criticize."
Of course, he was the president of The Nash Group. Who would dare to criticize the people he sent to them?
Eula smiled and said, "Thank you."
As Judson was about to leave, he said coldly,
"Mainly because you owe me money. I'm afraid you might run away, so I'll keep an eye on you."
After saying that, the tall and long-legged Judson had already pushed the door open and left. Eula stood in the courtyard and cursed.
"Just as I suspected, stingy."
She thought he was kind enough to help her secure a job, but it turned out he just wanted to keep an eye on her and make sure she didn't run away.
She had originally wanted to see him off, but now she wouldn't bother.
In the car, Myles saw Judson's attire and felt a lot warmer.
Judson felt his gaze, so he gave him a piercing look. Myles chuckled.
"Judson, you look really handsome today!"
Judson lowered his head and took a look. Although the clothes were not made specifically for him, they were knitted by that woman's own hands, and they were comfortable to wear.
"Tell the HR department that if Eula applies, arrange her as the president's secretary."
