Chapter 319 How Could This Happen?
The two kids were totally hooked on their new computer and thought Judson was pretty cool for giving it to them. Since the annual meeting prizes were such killer items, they decided to cut him some slack for now.
Rodolfo looked up and gave a faint smile.
"Mom, we know you're swamped with work, we get it."
At that moment, Dewitt put the computer away and checked the time.
"Mom, we gotta head to Great-Grandpa's for Christmas. Uncle Hopkins is almost here."
Eula was caught off guard, "What?"
She hadn't planned on going to the Lowe family for Christmas; she was thinking of heading to the Nash family and spending it with Judson.
Just then, David's call came in, and Eula furrowed her brows slightly.
David had said it was cool to come home two days after Christmas, so she had agreed to Mrs. Nash's invite.
Eula reluctantly answered, "Grandpa."
"Eula, come home for Christmas, I miss you."
David sounded super happy, and Eula could sense it, making her feel a bit torn.
"Grandpa, how about I come to see you two days after Christmas?"
David glanced at Fernando beside him. It was rare for Fernando to remember Eula and suggest she come home for Christmas.
"Eula, come home! You've been away for all these years, and Christmas just hasn't felt right without you. If you come home this year, I'll feel at peace."
David was being real. For the past six years, he's been out of touch with what the rest of the Lowe family was thinking, but every Christmas, he especially missed his granddaughter. After all, he had doted on her since she was little, and her absence always felt like something was missing.
Hearing David's words, Eula couldn't bear to refuse, so she agreed.
"Okay, Grandpa!"
Just then, Mary opened the door, and Geoffrey walked in.
He was dressed in a dark blue suit, looking very dignified as he strode into the living room.
Dewitt and Rodolfo exchanged a glance and stood up.
"Uncle Hopkins, you're here."
The enthusiasm from the two kids was obvious; they usually weren't like this. Eula furrowed her brows slightly, thinking it was because Judson was there that they were being particularly warm to Geoffrey.
Judson, who was chatting with Angie, stood up coldly.
With a hint of arrogance on his face, he walked over and pulled Eula into his arms.
"Eula, it's about time."
Eula's face scrunched up, filled with apology. She pulled him into the study on the first floor and closed the door, then, she clung to Judson, acting cute.
"Judson, I can't go to your house for Christmas. I have to go home to be with my grandpa. Please don't be mad, okay? I'll come back early in the evening and then spend time with you, alright?"
Judson's face darkened, and he pinched her chin with his long fingers, his gaze intense and intimidating.
"Just because of Geoffrey, you're not going to keep your promise?"
His voice was cold, and Eula looked at him with her big eyes, appearing very innocent.
"No, it's just that my grandpa called and said he wanted me to come home for Christmas. He's getting old and said he might not have many Christmases left. Hearing that, I really want to go be with him."
Judson had never asked about her family before, and hearing this, his heart softened a bit.
He lowered his head and kissed her lips, dominatingly sucking on them.
It wasn't until she started to whimper that he slowly released her mouth.
Eula finally caught her breath and regained her senses, but she was weak, leaning against his chest and breathing heavily.
Judson said coldly, "You can go home to be with your grandpa, but take me with you."
Eula was startled by his words and quickly looked up.
"Judson, not right now. Maybe later! There are some things I haven't explained to my family yet. If you do, it won't be good."
David now believed that Geoffrey was the father of the three children. If Judson showed up, she couldn't imagine what the consequences would be.
David would surely be disappointed again and might even kick her out of the house once more.
