Chapter 467 The Lawyer's Visit
The next morning, the delivery arrived early. It was clothes and toys bought from Fashion City.
At the same time, a lawyer also arrived, the chief lawyer of the S Group.
Mary was signing for the delivery when she saw a man in a suit carrying a briefcase. She asked, "Who are you looking for?"
Mary thought he looked like an insurance salesman. She had encountered many people dressed like this before, especially those carrying briefcases. They were definitely insurance salesmen.
She thought to herself, 'This is a high-end villa area. Usually, not even a fly from outside can get in. How did someone like this get in today?'
Dominic Thompson handed over a business card, "I am the chief lawyer of S Corporation. I am here to see Ms. Lowe today."
Seeing that he was a lawyer, Mary took a closer look at Dominic. No wonder he gave off a serious vibe.
After signing for the delivery, she looked at the piles of packages at the door and sighed. She wondered what Eula had bought.
"Mr. Thompson, please come in. I'll go get Ms. Lowe." Mary didn't bother with the packages at the door. Thankfully, they were delivered directly. If she had to pick them up from the delivery station, she wouldn't have managed.
Dominic followed Mary inside. Mary invited him to sit and made him a cup of tea.
Then she went upstairs to call Eula. Eula was in her pajamas, sitting on the balcony, drinking coffee, and working on her sketchbook.
Although she wasn't working recently, she was studying every day and would send some of her drafts to Tiffany for feedback, which she would then revise.
"Eula, A lawyer, Mr. Thompson is here to see you."
Eula looked up, put down her pen, and asked, "A lawyer? What's the matter?"
A hint of worry appeared on her face. She hadn't caused any trouble recently, so why was a lawyer looking for her?
Mary was also a bit worried, "You haven't been in a fight recently, have you?"
The last time a lawyer came, it was because she had gotten into a fight and sent someone to the hospital. They had to pay a lot of money, and since then, she hadn't dared to get into any more fights.
Eula thought for a moment, "No, I'm sure I haven't."
The two walked towards the balcony, talking as they went, both looking a bit tense.
Mary thought for a moment, "How about I call Mr. Nash? He knows a lot of people, and he's a man. If there's really something wrong, he can help."
Eula also thought it might be better, but he was probably at the company now.
"Mary, let me meet the lawyer first. If it's something else, we won't bother Judson."
After all, he was very busy. If it was a small matter, she could handle it herself.
Things were different now. She had a bit of money, so if she needed to pay or go to court, she could handle it.
Before, she was too poor to have any spare money for such things.
Mary followed her downstairs and went to the kitchen. They had agreed that if they needed to call Judson, Mary would make more tea as a signal.
She waited in the kitchen for the signal.
Eula walked to the living room, and Dominic stood up. "Ms. Lowe, hello, I'm Dominic."
He extended his hand, and Eula shook it. She thought this lawyer looked much more handsome and upright than the last one.
The last one looked like a bad guy.
She trusted her instinct quite a bit, with a mysterious confidence. "Mr. Thompson, please sit."
Eula sat down nervously, appearing calm on the outside but feeling tumultuous inside.
She hadn't hit anyone recently, hadn't crashed her car, and hadn't done anything illegal.
Dominic looked very professional and businesslike. "Ms Lowe, I am the chief lawyer of S Group. I am here today to handle all the formalities for transferring the shares of S Group to you, as instructed by Ms. Carnegie."
