Chapter 463 Afraid That the House Is Haunted

Eula was a bit confused, "Huh, a celebration for me?"

Angie spoke up, "Yeah, great-grandfather said he wants to introduce us to everyone! He said we're his most adorable great-grandchildren."

Angie was very happy, but Eula was a bit worried.

The celebration David mentioned might not just be about her winning an award; it could also be about her engagement to Geoffrey.

Her mood suddenly turned gloomy. Returning to City A was really a mess.

Seeing them chatting happily, Mary said, "You guys keep chatting, I'll go make dinner. Mr. Nash will be back soon."

Eula then remembered Judson; he would definitely come over for dinner tonight.

"Mary, make a few more dishes." Eula reminded.

Mary smiled, "Okay."

Eula returned to the living room, and the three kids quieted down.

Dewitt looked at the somewhat tired Eula and asked in a clear voice, "Mommy, is Uncle Geoffrey okay?"

Rodolfo also looked over, "Is his eye better? Can you take us to see him this weekend?"

The three kids had a good relationship with Geoffrey. He often played with them when they were little. Now that he was like this, it was natural for them to be concerned about him.

"Okay, I'll take you this weekend."

Angie, who was happily watching cartoons, reminded Eula, "Mommy, go take a bath, we'll have dinner soon."

Angie's life revolved around what to have for dinner and whether there would be her favorite chicken wings.

Eula got up, "Alright!"

When Shirley arrived at Bright Peak Villa, she stood at the door and entered the password, but the door wouldn't open.

She had tried before, but Geoffrey had changed the code, so she needed someone inside to open the door.

She rang the doorbell, and soon a sweet voice came through the intercom. "Who is it?"

Hearing this voice, Shirley couldn't help but think of the crazy things Bradley's wife said when she was mad. She shook off the thought, convinced there were no ghosts.

Bradley's wife must have been crazy to say such things.

"I'm Geoffrey's mother. Open the door, I want to see him." Shirley replied.

There was a pause inside, and after a while, footsteps could be heard.

"Mrs. Hopkins, I'm sorry, Mr. Hopkins said he doesn't want to see anyone. He also asked me to tell you it's late, and you should go home."

Shirley's expression changed slightly, and her voice became a bit harsher. "You are a servant of the Hopkins family, you have to listen to me. Open the door."

A servant nearby also spoke up for her, "Miss, open the door! Mr. Hopkins is like this now, and Mrs. Hopkins is worried about him."

"No way, I don't dare. He'll beat me." With that, she hung up the intercom, and the door remained closed.

Shirley angrily pounded on the door, "Geoffrey, tell her to open the door. If I don't see you tonight, I won't leave. Do you want me to stand at the door all night?"

Her voice was loud enough to be heard clearly upstairs.

In the study on the second floor, Geoffrey stood by the window, looking downstairs. Shirley was angry, but he didn't care. The angrier, the better.

If it weren't for her constant opposition, he would have been with Eula long ago.

This time, he would not compromise.

Sierra entered the study, munching on an apple. She had good teeth, and each bite made a crisp crunch.

"Mr. Hopkins, your mom is here. Are you really not going to let her in?" She spoke casually, her big, blinking eyes devoid of any emotion, as if she didn't care about anything, only interested in the apple in her hand.

"Can't eating shut you up?"

Sierra rolled her eyes. "Oh!"

Then she turned and left the study.

Geoffrey held a cigarette, took a heavy drag, and looked at the situation downstairs, the light in his eyes dim.
