Chapter 72 Her Home
Judson stepped into the bathroom. It was tiny, just a wash basin with a shower, there wasn’t even a tub.
Her pale green toothbrush sat on the basin, alongside a matching cup, a washcloth, and various cosmetics. Everything was clean and tidy, not a water spot in sight.
Despite its modesty and lack of luxurious furnishings, the house was neat and warm. It was clear this woman lived a life of refined simplicity. Her touch had turned a simple home with basic decorations into a cozy haven.
It was a stark contrast to his own place, which was dominated by shades of black, white, and gray—a cold house.
Eula entered, carrying a new toothbrush, cup, and towel for him.
"You can take a shower if you'd like." she said. A man like him surely needed a daily shower to feel comfortable.
Judson noticed his new toothbrush was blue, as was the cup, which he took from her hands.
"I’ll wait for you downstairs. Come down for breakfast once you’re done freshening up."
With those words, she turned and left. A trail of her sweet, delicate fragrance lingered in the air as her hair swayed gently.
Judson recognized the scent. It was oddly familiar, yet he couldn't place where he had smelled it before. A deep breath in the bathroom made it clear; the enticing aroma was hers.
Downstairs, the three kids hadn't yet left for school. They stood united at the foot of the stairs, seemingly waiting for Eula.
Dressed in their school uniforms, backpacks in tow, they were obviously ready to head out.
Angie giggled, "Eula, you're up? What about the Mr. Handsome?"
Eula's cheeks colored slightly, but she remained composed.
"He's up too. Dewitt, Rodolfo, I need a word with you two."
Angie glanced at her brothers. "No more picking on the Mr. Handsome, got it?"
Dewitt patted her head gently, "Yeah!"
With his promise, Angie beamed.
"I'll wait outside for you. Hurry up or you'll be late!"
Eula took their hands and led them to the couch, where she sat down and gazed intently at the two young and strikingly handsome boys.
Their features were beautiful, chiseled, and they were bright clear thinkers—undoubtedly traits inherited from their father.
"Next time, we must be better hosts to our guests, okay?"
Dewitt and Rodolfo nodded briefly, "Okay!"
They were good and sensible kids, always responding like this whenever they were addressed.
" Off you go to school"
Then she called out, "Mary, you're taking them to school today."
Mary emerged from the kitchen, "Eula, breakfast is ready."
With everything in order, she followed the three children out.
Eula poured herself a glass of water and drank silently, she was still thinking about her job search, knowing she needed to find work soon.
Her phone rang, it was Darcy calling.
Eula answered, "Darcy."
"Eula, the hospital has found a match for a bone marrow donor. Rumor has it he's military, still in service, waiting for them to make contact."
This was great news—They’ve found a potential match.
