Chapter 132 Class Reunion (3)
Kristina found herself swarmed by classmates, each vying for her attention, hoping to remain in her good graces and perhaps get introduced to Judson.
Eula watched the scene unfold; Judson was undoubtedly very popular.
She glanced at her gym bag, deciding to head to her room first.
Ethan didn't seem to be paying attention to what Kristina and the others were saying.
Instead, he reached out, "Let me carry that for you. Our rooms are adjacent—I’m in 1207, you’re in 1208."
Of course, all this was orchestrated by Emma Johnson, Eula thought with a smile.
"It's not heavy, I can manage," she said.
Over the years, she’d become used to handling both the child-rearing and the heavy lifting alone, embracing a strong, independent lifestyle.
Ethan looked slightly disappointed, but he didn't insist and instead made a playful remark.
"Here I am, trying to play the gentleman, and the lady won't give me a chance. Breaks my heart!"
Everyone else was busy flattering Kristina, so they didn't notice Eula. She entered the elevator with Ethan, heading to their rooms.
Arriving at the door, Scott called out to her, "Eula, after you set down your things, come out. We'll grab some food in the dining area before we change into our swimsuits."
He didn't want her to change right away and attract attention in her swimwear.
Eula smiled, "Sounds good."
She entered her room, placed her bag down, and took a moment to appreciate the spaciousness and cleanliness of her accommodation.
From the balcony, she could see the mountain behind the hotel, dotted with various hot springs stretching from the base to the peak.
She remembered the flyer she saw in the lobby, mentioning a hot spring at the summit that offered breathtaking views—a hot spot for social media check-ins.
Phone in hand, Eula stepped out of her room to find the handsome Ethan waiting.
He had shed his coat and now donned a black tracksuit, amusingly similar to her own – almost as if they were a matching set.
Eula paused, surprised to see him still there.
"Ethan, you didn't head down already?"
He shot her a casual glance, "You're still the same, always dawdling."
With that, he ruffled her hair, a tender smirk crossing his face.
Eula pushed her hair back with a hint of annoyance, “Ethan, you’re just as childish as ever.”
He used to love messing up her hair too, and it always made her mad. A tousled head of hair, and she'd look like she was losing her mind.
Laughter erupted between them suddenly, as if they had been transported back to their high school days.
They headed upstairs to the restaurant, having reserved a private room, so it wasn't noisy inside.
Eula and Ethan grabbed some food and returned to their table.
People filled the large round table, but their enthusiasm seemed to have waned; they looked at Eula with strange expressions in their eyes.
Eula glanced at the woman with the flawless makeup not far away, had she been spreading rumors among the alumni?
Just then, Ethan’s close buddy, Hank Johnson, came over.
“Scott, there's talk that Eula is being kept by some old guy—she even had three kids with him. Think it over for yourself,” Hank said, feeling obligated to share the gossip with his friend, not wanting Scott to get duped.
He looked at Eula’s seemingly innocent and cute face. These kinds of women, he thought, were the best at playing the victim, the best at deceiving men, he didn't want his good friend to fall for trash.
Scott's face darkened with anger, and his gaze turned cold as he swept over the people at the table.
“Shut up, anyone else who speaks out of turn gets the boot immediately.”
